Database Users

Need help...don't wanna screw up

I purchased a Tilt about 2 weeks ago. I want to install Flo Cube on it. Is it compatable? If so, how do I go about installing it? I have searched the site for days and have found where to get the cab files and such, but no instructions on how to install it. This is my first pocket pc, so I know very little about them. If someone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

i won`t tell you because i can`t believe this . SO Start you PC, open your Browser, got to google and search "installing cab". ANd READ first Thread, and i hope you dont need another five days for that.

Don't believe I am writing this but I am just about to defend the OP a little bit.
To his credit he did say he had searched before posting. We all know how imprecise searching can be on here.
I guess he hadn't taken the time out to read the forum rules or get a feel for the environment on here before posting in the develpopment area of all places (oh dear).
To the OP, I had similar worries about wrecking my device when I started on here so I understand your concern. Best thing to do is to search for the Flo Cube thread and post in there if you can't find what you are looking for. Alternatively PM me and I will see what I can do to help.
If you do PM me please say thanks afterwards. I have helped no end of people this way and they simply use me, abuse me and pi$$ off without a word of thanks. Highly irritating.

TOTAL NOOB, Sorry in advance but im lost.

Where to begin learning about developing... im really interested but all i can find is like how to use stuff ppl have already done... like how-to's on boot animations or seriously over my head stuff like how metamorph works. i need to find some relevant info on the android system and how it works and what i apk vs adb vs xml is. can anyone be of assistance? pls.

I'd also be interested.

I am also interested in trying to know a little more about this so that I can help people instead of always being the one that needs help.

dude ur totally not a ****. i was just not thinkin. developer.android.com has soooo much good stuff to start. ty tho.

I'm a little confused as to what you want to know.
But actually I would check out http://developer.android.com/ and read through their Guide and learn about Android first, and then watch some of their Videos. After that, you could read through some of the tutorials on XDA regarding Android and just Google some of the terms used, such as SPL, Fastboot, ADB, Root, etc. You're right, most guides on here tell you how to do something and not particularly what it all means. So unfortunately, a lot of it, you will have to search for.

A bit of a problem with the OTA update today...

I hope someone can give me some advice, or help. Please keep in mind I'm only so tech saavy. I rooted my tablet last week...was happy how easy it was. Before I downloaded Titanium though, I deleted some apps off the tablet. Today comes this OTA update. It will download just fine, but after the tablet reboots, as it starts the install, an icon with an exclamation point comes up....and nothing. I have to manually reboot, and when it comes back up I get a small "update failure" box. Otherwise, the tablet seems to be working without a hitch. any help would be appreciated on how to fix this.

there are at least 5 different threads covering how to fix this... was another really necessary?

It might be nice if we had a moderatror that would tidy up and sticky some of the requested how-to/help and dev topics so new users wouldnt have to resort to asking again......

[Q] First Timer Requesting Assistance

Thank you for this website and all the helpful information it provides. I was a long time apple user and was fed up with the ios so jumped on the bandwagon of android.
I rooted my phone it it a Telus i337M with the OTA update on it.
My question is what would the best stock to put on? I know it is a vague question ive been trying to do some research but i dont see anything that says it is compatible with the update that recently came out and I am a but nervous proceeding without expert advise. I like to have more battery life.
Id like to get rid of the bloatware as most probably do and TrulyClean 1.6 seems to be the choice. The installation is what baffles me.
If there is any information that i am missing that should be provided I have no problems with that.
Thank you again to who ever replies for your time. once i get the hang of this ill be happy to offer help to others who are in my shoes.

Too bad it your first post, best threads are frowned upon. Just try a couple of different roms and see what you like. Didn't people like different things. I've heard vision x is good.

Well my apologies for posting then Ive tried to search for an answer but I do not have a SD Card and want to know if the update is ok to install a new dashboard / rom will that cause a conflict. Ill try to do more searching. Tough to search for something when i do not know the best terminology to use to find it hense why i ask here.

Read the "pinned" threads in the general and Q & A sections. In them, you will find a list of available ROMs. Read the OPs of each ROM thread to see what they have to offer.

And if your firmware is MF3, you can not put any ROM on your phone (yet). Make sure you do a lot of reading before you brick your phone.

i dont want to make a new post so ill continue here.. can someone direct me to the proper spot to get PhilZ Touch for i337m? i see so many different versions and i dont see any that say it is compatible with i337m. Sorry that seems like the last step i need before i can use this TrulyClean.zip

thank you it worked.. i ran the 1.6 bloat killer thank you for that as well whoever made that..
but my issue at the moment is i only have 4G my LTE doesnt show up anymore.. did i do something wrong?

Some roms display "4G" in the status bar when you're connected to LTE. Do a speed test and see if your speed is less than it was before.

Rooting my phone?

Hello guys.
(I tried to post 3 links but I couldn't since I'm a new user)
I recently upgraded my Note 3 from KitKat to Lollipop using this firmware and following some steps on sammobile.
I thought that I had rooted my phone but apparantly not, as a kind redditer explained to me here my thread was called "supsersu doesnt work since i upgraded to 5.0" on the /AndroidQuestions section.
He also adviced me to join XDA forums if I need help and that's why I am here. Basically I need to root my Note 3 to version 5.0 using Odin. The only problem is that I have Odin on my computer ( Here was a picture of my Odin map on my computer ) but I cant see the root file there? So my question is basically: How/Where do I find the root file?
I tried searching some on the forum but I guess my searching skills are terrible as I couldn't find something (and I'm pretty sure it should be somewhere here, so yeah my searching skills probably suck).

I wrote a thread and asked politely for help and I explained that my technological skills were bad. I even wrote:
"I tried searching some on the forum but I guess my searching skills are terrible as I couldn't find something (and I'm pretty sure it should be somewhere here, so yeah my searching skills probably suck)."
And still you gave me a cocky lmgtfy link. Do you know how to read and understand English? Cause else u wouldn't have sent that link. Unless you just wanted to be a complete ****. And judging from your replies in this thread (and some other) it's obvious that you're just a ****.
