Hey! First thing you need to know: i'm stupid af
So yesterday i tried to root my Huawei P9 Lite VNS L31, and everything was doing great: bootloader unlocked and everything.
Because the root didn't seem to work on EMUI, i tried to install another ROM (i'm stupid) with TWRP: so I wipe cache, system and data in order to do it good, i flash the ROM but now when i tried to reboot it didn't boot.
So i figured that i was trying to install a MM Rom on an Nougat (at least it was) device. I then tried another ROM and i didn't work either. After hours of trying to make it work, now it boots on Huawei eRecovery, but i already tried to use it since i made no backup (i'm an idiot), and it seems to fail every time? idk it only show a big red ! mark
Right now i'm still looking for a fix but i would be soooooooooooooooooooo freaking relieved if someone could help me please :crying:
(i'm an idiot)
I DID IT!!!!
So i followed a tutorial made by the website androidmtk (i can't link it it's my first post), and is used the official stock firmware for my phone which you can find on cusumer huawei dot com
DONT FORGET TO BACKUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is anyone having problems with Bluetooth on their device? Just need to enable it on mine because I used 2FA with my Google account, & have a security token.
Model Number: BTV-W09
Build Number: NRD90M test-keys
EMUI Version: 5.0
Android Version: 7.0
Everything else seems to be working, at least so far. Still only seeing 2.4 GHz frequency with WiFi, but getting 5.0 GHz working is something I can work on later.
My Bluetooth seems to be working fine. I am on EMUI 5 / Android 7.
the second update file likely did not install correctly when attempting the dload method correct? the solution is to install the second update file as a zip from twrp. that fixes the problem, and updates your system version to the correct btv-w09c128b350 (if your using us version) if you don't have the second update file you can download it using firmware finder app, be sure its the full ota version, as the others do not work with this method.

I love how people here use abbreviations so frivilously. TWRP?? I googled that and it seems to be a root method. Rooting the tablet isn't a solution to this and we need bluetooth and 5ghz working for US. I had an EU update installed before this, then I hear the US update is out and I hoped it fixed the bluetooth issue. But now I have a USA version with a disabled bluetooth and no 5ghz wifi radio. This tablet is becoming more of a pain than anything....
When it comes to Android, your best solution is not a Google search but a search of the forums here at XDA, TWRP, is a recovery system that can be installed on the device. Once installed it can be used to perform system backups and restores, install firmware install root, wipe a device, do all sorts of nifty things.
To install TWRP you need to unlock your device, the instructions for doing that are in a different forum. Once unlocked you will need to set up adb which instructions can be found in the install TWRP forum, each version of TWRP is device specific, so you have to get the right one. If you really want to dig into figuring out how to do this, you will need to spend several hours reading the forums about this device, or find a friend who knows how to do this that you can trust not to brick your device.

does the above mentioned operation void my guarantee for the tablet ?
That's a difficult question to answer. The device comes with two recovery systems built in. There are not many scenarios where you can hard brick the device and are unable to restore it back to factory settings, locked unrooted and like new. Any warranty issue are likely to be hardware not software.
Hmm. I am in the process of using the dc-unlocker client to unlock my bootloader. When the client reads my phone, it shows the build number as NRD90M test-keys, but when I look at device info on the phone, it shows a normal build number. Does anybody know what this means?
I've been trying to install Nougat on my P8-lite (ALICE). I started with ALE-02 B140 and following these instructions successfully upgraded it to ALE-L21 B170. Then flashed B560, followed by TWRP and finally B895. At some point in time the model number must have changed as it no longer reports ALE-L21 but hi6210sft. Despite this every thing works file. Radio and data works flawlessly too.
However when I flash any custom ROM - radio is intermittent and randomly turns off every so often for a minute or so (this includes voice, SMS and data). This makes the phone quite unusable
ROMs I tried are Android 6 (Lineage 13), Android 7 (RR, dots, AOSP) and Android 8 (RR) - and they all do the same. So I'm back on EMUI B895 - but would dearly love to get rid of it. Baseband version is 22.355.03.00.00
Any help or suggestions or questions are most welcome
Thomas.
Finally managed to fix it. Went to Settings->SIM cards->SIM1 Settings->Preferred network type and changed "GSM/WCDMA/LTE" to "GSM/WCDMA auto"
I have a huawei p8 lite ALE-L02 (alice) and im unable to upgrade to nougat . I am unable to unlock bootloader as the bootloader code website is no longer available. I will appreciate any help to upgrade to nougat.
I think you are late. Google around and have a look at https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/unlock-code-t3830035
Well thanks anyway but my rollback keeps failing. My version is ALE-L02C190B584. The phone wont accept the rollback file. Thanks

Hello,
had you already took a look at @k1ll3r8e's thread ?
He made a toolkit that can do what you need.
Best regards
Edit:
Dude you can do that also without the toolkit.
You only need the right oeminfo dual sim
and the correct rom.
Feel free to ask...
hello dadditz,
thank you for your reply! Of course i read a lot here and other sites, and also found the P9 toolkit! But my problem was/is, that i cant "upgrade" to VNS-L21C432B160 because i already was on VNS-L21C432B503 ... so i tried different things, but it did not work. Always the menue "Dual sim configuration" was not in the settings menue... and the image felt little bit "laggy"...
BUT
i was giving it another try - i downgraded from Nougat to MM with this ... tutorial and repeated the steps listed in the P9 lite toolkit... and now i have the Dual-Sim menue in the settings dialogue... and it is working
Because its not "enough" i wanted to return to Nougat - until now with no success... so am i now stuck on VNS-L21C432B160 ?
I tried some images from 380/370/336 but the huawei recovery always stops on 5% and denies the update - how can i upgrade again?
kind regards

Hey,
I think you could save yourself from going back
at MM, but, the omelette is made now ...
Have you already done a factory reset + wipe cache in stock recovery ?
Tell me a little bit when you reboot the device
does any warning text come out ? if yes, what color ?

Well, when i was on Nougat, i was not able to see the "Dual Sim Settings" in the settings menue - i tried 20 times
i think... when i went "back" to MM the menue was immediately there...
I did the factory reset and wiped cache in stock recovery menue.
Booting up my device seems all fine - bootloader is relocked, no warnings or anything...
HiSuite told me that my device "has the latest developer version" and no upgrade would be available...
I tried to flash the firmware with TWRP - without success...; when i try dload the phone stuck on 5%... i also
tried the "-PV" versions - without any luck...
So i really have no idea left how to upgrade from this version?!

Use Firmware Finder to force the upgrade, download it from the store.
VPN method worked fine for me (i was on android 7).
Inside the app all the info, anymore
a thread is present here on XDA.
Give it a try...
You're on B160, go for B370 PV version, check compatibility otherwise choose for full ota one.
Good luck
Cheers
Hello all,
recently I got a used Huawei P9 lite VNS-L31 single SIM.
At the beginning it was branded with the Telekom Software (C150). I tried to debrand it with a guide I found on the internet.
Every thing went well but I noticed that the Buildnummber says: VNS-L31C900B161. Because I did it with the downgrade method with Test-keys package i guess.
The Problem is that I was trying to flash a Nougat update with the 3 Button method but during the installing procces I noticed that the package I flashed was the rollback package again.
So the Problem now is that I can't boot to bootloader, recovery and also the 3 Button method to flash a full firmware does not work.
The bootloader is locked (DC Unlocker doesn't recognize the phone so I cant get a code from there)and I guess I have to replace the Motherboard to get the phone working, but before I do that I thought I can ask here if there is any solution I that I can try.
Sorry for my bad English.
Hope that anyone has an Idea
