Radio randomly turns off and on - on all but the stock ROM - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been trying to install Nougat on my P8-lite (ALICE). I started with ALE-02 B140 and following these instructions successfully upgraded it to ALE-L21 B170. Then flashed B560, followed by TWRP and finally B895. At some point in time the model number must have changed as it no longer reports ALE-L21 but hi6210sft. Despite this every thing works file. Radio and data works flawlessly too.
However when I flash any custom ROM - radio is intermittent and randomly turns off every so often for a minute or so (this includes voice, SMS and data). This makes the phone quite unusable
ROMs I tried are Android 6 (Lineage 13), Android 7 (RR, dots, AOSP) and Android 8 (RR) - and they all do the same. So I'm back on EMUI B895 - but would dearly love to get rid of it. Baseband version is 22.355.03.00.00
Any help or suggestions or questions are most welcome
Thomas.

Finally managed to fix it. Went to Settings->SIM cards->SIM1 Settings->Preferred network type and changed "GSM/WCDMA/LTE" to "GSM/WCDMA auto"

I have a huawei p8 lite ALE-L02 (alice) and im unable to upgrade to nougat . I am unable to unlock bootloader as the bootloader code website is no longer available. I will appreciate any help to upgrade to nougat.

I think you are late. Google around and have a look at https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/unlock-code-t3830035

Well thanks anyway but my rollback keeps failing. My version is ALE-L02C190B584. The phone wont accept the rollback file. Thanks

Huawei P8Lite Notification/Double Tap problem

Hi there, I'm experiencing some issues with my new bought phone Huawei P8 Lite(ALE-L21 Single-Sim locked in Vodafone Romania).
The first issue and that's kinda important is the notification one; I won't receive for example Facebook's Messenger messages, when phone it's locked or often on home screen. I've given priority on that damn task killer, I did anything recommended on all forums and sites, even from WhatsApp's thread about receiving delayed notifications, I also installed that Push notifications app;
When I said I often receive notifications on my home screen it's beacuse they are delayed I think. I want to fix this so bad so I made a thread about this. Everything has priority, even networking apps, the lock screen has the default theme, I really don't know what to do anymore.
And the second one is about the common double tap execution when writing or tapping or anything else. I'm experiencing some troubles there too, especially when I'm writing, the phone is executing the second tap without my action and I don't know how to fix that.
I'll let some informations about my phone..
I've purchased this phone on 31th of May, 2016
The model number is ALE-L21/Single Sim
The build number is ALE-L21C02 B140
Android 5.0.1 with EMUI 3.1
Phone isn't rooted or modified, and I want to fix these without rooting if it's possible.
well .. you have 2 options:
1. Check notifications manager from notifications panel
2. Upgrade to marshmallow: upgrade to b170 then upgrade to b564 and hope this will fix your problem xD
About the double tap: that is an often problem on this huawei and you can fix that by upgrading to last version of marshmallow.
Can't find an notification manager, may you show me where it is?
And about the versions I found only b170 but it's from spain and I told you that I'm a little bit scared beacuse it's locked in Vodafone Romania
It doesn't matter from where it is, it's official from huawei. It doesn't matter if it's locked in vodafone romania, mine was also locked in vodafone romania, and i have b565 now
You won't brick your phone.
Here it's notification manager:
If you can't find notification, it means that this option is not available on 5.0
May you give me some links to the updates, please? I really don't want to f**k up the phone
Update via local update: make a folder named dload on your internal memory or sdcard an put the update.app inside of this zip
Then, update with the same procedure to 6.0 by installing update.app from this zip
ALE-L21C02 B140
It looks that Your phone is branded and I don't know if You will have balong bug after upgrading the system to B170 and upper. I recommend you to make a debrand process but it needs an unlocked bootloader. When You decide to do it remember to have done a backup of Your data!

Oups, didn't read c02 xD
But i don't think it's a big problem, even if he has balong, he can install vendor or change it.
Could you explain me what's "balong" and "vendor"; I'm sorry but I'm completely parallel with these kind of "deep" stuff in phones..
Balong is a bug that appears when you are installing a firmware that is not for your country and it's a problem with the version not showing properly. The vendor file will fix it.
Sent from my ALE-L21 using XDA-Developers mobile app
And where can I find the vendor file, to avoid the balong bug?
And also is it a problem if I update my One-Sim Phone with an Dual-Sim FW?
That's strange, why are you having b140 on single sim?
And why you want to update with a dual sim version on single sim?
Just install b171 first then install b551, at last install b565 via ota.
Vendor file is inside firmware archives.
Hi,
I bought this phone Huawei P8Lite (ALE-L21) without being connected to any network carrier.
Before I start to unlock bootloader, install TWRP and Root the phone, I checked the system version and EMUI and the rest of the information needed before update to Marshmallow 6.0.
Before I had the following info:
OS: Lollipop 5.0.1
EMUI: 3.0
(ALE-L21C432B200)
At this point I had no update via OTA - (to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow), and made only unlock bootloader
After several hours of searching, I found that I could do a local update (B560 Marshmallow Firmware [Europe] - Dual SIM) available by Huawei.
Link: http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/06/download-huawei-p8-lite-l21-b564-marshmallow-firmware-europe/
I checked Huawei PDF on how to do the update but does not mention Required Version and proceeded to local update.
So far so good, the phone did the update without any problem.
I checked OTA for new update and the phone made update for B564 - Also mentioned by Carbontesla.com
Link: http://www.carbontesla.com/2016/06/download-huawei-p8-lite-l21-b564-marshmallow-firmware-europe/
Phone did the update (B564) without any problem, then I proceed installing TWRP and then I root the phone.
All work beautifully, but I noticed that whatever the application I use both SMS, Facebook, Whatsapp, GMail, takes too long to receive notifications.
I do not know if he was already with this bug when the phone was with Lollipop 5.0.1 with (ALE-L21C432B200) and EMUI 3.0
I have not had time yet to reset the phone to factory settings and verify that fixed the bug, I will do this weekend week :fingers-crossed:
Can someone help me?

Check battery management and give access to work in the background for apps You need. Eventually check notification centre too.

Yes, I've been checking battery management if everything with access to work in the background for apps, and it seems to be ok and notification center too.
It continues with the same delay / bug
I hope this weekend to reset the phone to factory settings and verify if it keeps the same problem.
Check Wi-Fi sleep, and set it to off from Power Saving tab

I checked and is always on, no sleep.
Today is the day, I'm going to reset the phone to factory settings and then check if all is ok.
I'll be back once I have the result:fingers-crossed:
Before starting to reset the phone to factory settings, I made backup all my personal files and a recovery with TWRP if something wrong happened.
It seems to be all right after the whole process
I receive all notifications like any other phone in normal operation, no delay :good:
But before I celebrate, I will be alert to phone with daily use to make sure that everything continued well.
Thanks for all the help :good:

unbricking hard brick - moto x style

hey guys
i just brick my phone (no idea how, flashed android 7 firmware) after flash my phone was working for like 2 hours, then i let himself update a security options. After update my phone went brick
As far i found :
- installed Qualcoom QDLOADER 9008 driver
- found QFIL programmer
i need to have programmer path (something related to JTAG) and build xmp path
Where i can find them? Or is it a other way to resscue my phone?
I feel your pain. My timeline:
- The phone was unlocked but still in Stock Nougat (7.0?). Got that from OTA in Brazil.
- I tried to update to LineageOS 7 via TWRP. After a full wipe (everything, system, data, card, cache etc) I installed the new ROM. Turned on, bootlooped forever.
- Searching around I found out that there was no modem in the Nougat roms and for some reason I needed to flash a Marshmallow modem for my region to make that work (I think there is no Nougat modems around or something).
- I found a LA_DS modem for 6.0, flashed that using TWRP, still bootloop. Tried other roms using TWRP, still bootloop.
- I then downloaded a full stock old 6.0 firmware to go back to stock but the phone wouldn't accept some files ("preflash validation failed").
- Searched around and found out that you can't downgrade a bootloader from Moto.
- Using fastboot, I flashed the files the phone was willing to accept and it finally booted the 6.0 Marshmallow stock rom, but with no networking (radio/modem/baseband/IMEI missing).
- Flashed the 6.0 modem for my region again and everything worked. Connected on WiFi, dual sim cards detected etc.
- I started to install every update the phone showed to try to update it back to latest MM version.
- The three first updates went ok, the fourth turned off the phone to never turn on again.
Looks like there is no way out of this. My phone is pretty old and MotoCare in Brazil will charge a lung and a half for repair.

Pretty similar situation on my part. I downgraded back to 6.0 and when it tried to take the December update I ended up with the same thing as you. I ended up getting a replacement from Moto for under 100 dollars which was worth it rather than trying to find a solution that doesn't exist.

P8 (GRA-L09) from Europe updated to B398 returns "invalid password" with home wifi

P8 (GRA-L09) from Europe updated to B398 returns "invalid password" with home wifi
Hello guys,
My dad owns a P8 (GRA-L09) bought in Europe, and its latest security patch was from June 2016, but still was Android Marshmellow and EMUI version 4.0 if I remember correclty. The last days I went looking for new firmware upgrade, considering he often falls for click bait adds that end up installing crap on his phone. I have found what seemed to be the latest update for the Europe region: B398 (dated June 2017, somewhat outdated when it comes to security patches).
https://huaweidl.com/download/p8/gra-l09/b398/
Download link provided by this website is OFFICIAL:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G985/g104/v88316/f1/full/update.zip
Updating method used:
1) First, download Full B398 ROM for Huawei P8 from above and extract it.
2) Now create a folder dload in the root of your SD card and place the update.app file in that folder.
3) Now dial *#*#2846579#*#* from your phone dialer to open a hidden menu.
4) Now click on Project Menu -> Software Upgrade -> SDCard Upgrade.
5) Now select and run the update.
6) Wait until the installation process is complete and then reboot your device.
7) Done.
The problem is that, after installing the update, my previously saved home wifi won't connect. So I wiped out ALL saved access points, and also reset networks settings to default. Then I tried to connect again, using the CORRECT password, and it returns "invalid password". I have to say my wifi password has a "@" character, but this can't be the problem, since it was working fine BEFORE updating.
Since the P8 has been bough in Italy, I went to the official support website for an update:
https://consumer.huawei.com/it/support/phones/p8/
It seemed that I got lucky, considering the date displayed, but I was wrong.
Huawei P8 Firmware (GRA-L09, Android 6.0, EMUI 4.0, C432B321a, Western Europe, Channel-Others)
2018-01-26 | 1G
http://consumer-tkb.huawei.com/tkbapp/downloadWebsiteService?websiteId=668986
After downloading the "update", I was disappointed to find out that this file has the version B321, way much older than the B398 I have just updated to.
Any ideas? Searching in Google made me realize I'm not the only one with this problem, but so far most of the solution posted on other communities seem to be related to isolated cases or merely just luck. Not to mention there was a solution rather risky, since it involved wiping caches (including Dalvik) and it resulted as an even worse malfunction (WiFi and Bluetooth can't be turned on after this, so be careful).
Thanks!
Please try and refrain from asking the question across multiple threads, :- https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75466903&postcount=375
BTW B399 is the latest for the GRA-LO9 (security patch 5th Oct.2017) and works flawlessly.

Try that version and see.

Stuck on Huawei eRecovery after phone failed OTA Oreo update

Hi,
Big trouble time with my Huawei P8 Lite 2017 (PRA-LX1) after it tried to OTA upgrade to Oreo.
I had not tried anything before - no rooting, no unlock, nothing - and it measerably failed on its own, well done Huawei.
I tried to create a "dload" folder on extSD + adding update.app file etc. it goes up to 5% upgrade then fails..
I found previous methods and posts here on how to unbrick the phone but it requires to unlock the phone and install TWRP etc.
I will bring it back to the store next week and see what they can do, for the moment I bought another phone..
If someone encounters the same problems feel free to post here.
Edit: for the record the attempted methods (thanks Gigi)

Well,I was before on Nougat and had some battery issues so I decided, maybe going to Oreo would solve my issues,so I go ahead and unlock the bootloader and install TWRP,and then it seems I flashed Oreo No Check recovery on Nougat and it displayed the BOOT error.
The only way I fixed my phone was to buy a three day license of DC Phoenix for 20 euros.
I flashed the first version of Nougat on it and then it installed a new version of Nougat through eRecovery, and after a few weeks the Oreo update came, installed it with no issues.
Overall,DC Phoenix might be the only thing that will work, but at least it is guaranteed to work.

Update to Android 8.0 Oreo

Hi all,
I'm on WAS-LX1AC432B184 and i can't update via OTA because "no update" and I think there's update as a friend of mine has the same phone but different build numbers as i needed to unlock my dual sim capability.
When i bought my phone i could only use 1 sim then i changed it to a dual sim. Can this be the reason why i can't get updates? The guy that did the dual sim conversion told me that i will be able to get updates as normal but i don't at all.
Please help me get the latest update so that i can enjoy the new Android – 8.0 Oreo
Hey there, by looking at your build number, you've got a 3GB RAM variant (LX1 instead of LX1A) Dual SIM (even build number) P10 lite on the global cust (C432).
The strange thing is the build number, stuck at 184 when Nougat arrived at B209/210 (Oreo is at B360/361).
Maybe you did some kind of modification (root, bad EMUI flash in the past) to the system so you can't receive official Huawei updates via OTA?
Have you tried clicking on the top right in System Update > Download latest full package?
Just some guesses here…
Probably, the you're huawei p10 lite dual is a branded? Usualy these models is the very slow for porting major release.

I want to get new updates for my phone to be honest.

Hi sham_1
I sent you a guide wrote quickly in DM (for anyone who might need it, I left it here).
One quick question, now you have an even build number, right? That means that you are on a Dual-SIM firmware.
I suggest you to follow these steps and maybe wait some weeks because I did something similar too while Oreo was hitting Huawei's servers, but I received it only a month later, when the IMEI finally matched my firmware (the IMEI has to be approved in order to receive updates, suggest to "check firmware availability" on Firmware Finder).
"Hey,
I'm not so experienced in Huawei modding, but I managed to debrand my device from C55 to C432, so maybe it's worth a shot.
•
Anyways, try this:
- Download Firmware Finder from Play Store
- open it and click on WAS-LX1C432
- search for builds like B210 (must be an even number and not an Oreo B361, otherwise you can brick your device) choose a FullOTA
- click on update via proxy/DNS, follow the steps on screen
•
The important thing here is to know if the phone grants you into updating with that build, then failing in erecovery (detecting an error, no brick) so that you can reboot with not updated firmware and do a standard System Update from the settings, that update will contain the same build that you've got installed, but it will be used to basically overwrite everything without losing any data, even thought I suggest you to do a backup.
•
Before doing any of the steps I gave you, could you please describe me what you did, what method did you follow?
•
In this post, I am giving steps that worked for me when I had a corrupted firmware, but your problem may be different from this.
Check also the HWOTA method (to solve the same problem but with the warranty void, I suggest to use it only if the above method doesn't work), search "HWOTA P10 lite" on Google for more info.
•
Hope this helps
-zYoshi"
