Hello, friends, is screen protector essential for the phone? Can't we use the phone without it? If we use a one how often should it be changed? Can we use this over a long time? Doesn't it harm the display of the phone since it applies a pressure on the screen?

It doesnt apply pressure to the screen, it just adheres to it.

Hello,
After two monts of perfect usage, yesterday I saw two blue areas on black bachground. I have tested several dead pixel repair apps but no chance. What kind of defect is this?

The only time I have seen that is with screen pressure "accidents".
Either replace the screen/digitizer yourself, or send it in for repair if it bothers you.

Same problem just in other areas
Got the same problem. Software issue?
Sorry to hear this. Just tested on my phone using screen write. 100% of the screen works, currently no case if that matters at all.
So, should we use the warranty?

I had the same problem.
In my case it was the case (haha) which contained magnets which interfered with the spen.
Magnets!
Thanks!!! That solved the problem, its the case and magnets.

If this is happening to you on a naked phone, absolutely. Do not settle - if anything see if your carrier can help you out since it was a lemon.

So here's a little video of me checking the time while sitting on the couch. Very frustrating. Any tips or fixes available to make it better?

Did a clean install when 5.1.1 came out... just upgraded to most recent fw but it's been like this since I upgraded to lollipop.
My Z3C never had this issue. DT2W works flawlessly but it's disabled on my phone because it was waking up too often while in my pocket
The thing is DT2W worked flawlessly on the first kitkat FW when this phone came out... After the upgrades you'll hv to move it like pick it up then it'll work properly. If you leave it on a flat surface for awhile and tap it without moving it then it'll be like in the OP's video.

It's the same for me. Worked very good on 4.4, now only with movement before on 5.0, 5.1. I think they tried to make it less sensitive to waking the screen in the pocket or something. Though not the best solution.

If it wakes up in your pocket, then make the screen face outwards when you put it in your pocket problem solved :'D That's what i do anyway.

I'd rather not, I scratched my previous phone's screen really bad when doing this. I got out of my way for someone and ground with my hip against a stone wall.

GravityBox has this "Proximity wake-up" feature.
The phone will never wake-up when the proximity sensor is covered (even when you use the power button instead of double-tap)
Sometimes the double tap doesn't respond well at all.

Nice find. But isn't that going to be a big battery drain?

I didn't notice any battery drain using that feature.
It seems the sensor is not used all the time. Maybe it is used only when there's an attempt to wake up the phone.
Testing now

Do your phone a favour and get a tempered glass screen protector http://allegro.pl/nillkin-9h-h-szklo-folia-lcd-xperia-z3-compact-i5660652914.html

I already got one, along with CaseMate Barely There. don't wanna repeat that Mini Pro mistake.
lol so you have a case and a tempered glass screen protector and you are adjusting the way you put your phone in your pocket in order to avoid the possibility of grinding your hip into a wall whilst avoiding someone. wow. you are one cautious individual.
Just get gravity box. Once you have that tap to wake is perfect.

yes I am cautious, this phone was quite expensive and I'm going to use it for as long as possible. and yes, I've already enabled the proximity wake in GB.
So I got a new screen, but I think it's a cheap crap thing. Touch accuracy is way off, it seems too sensitive or something. It scrolls when I just want to tap, for example, and I keep hitting the wrong letters.
Is there such a thing as touchsvreen calibration on modern devices? Or did I just get a dodgy digitiser?

Yeah nah not gonna happen, took two weeks to get here and was only $40 anyway lol.
I don't know if it's placebo but I did run a Touchscreen Calibration app on the Play Store which seems to have helped. Not even sure what it does, but lots of other positive reviews also have similar results.
Only downside now is that it's sometimes not sensitive enough, but I'll get used to that. At least now I can type properly.
If it is too sensitive, what about using some screen protector? Maybe it will lower the sensitivity?

Maybe. I do have the one that came with the phone.
I dunno, sometimes it's too sensitive and other times it's not. I think it's just a cheap digitiser. But I might try that anyway, good idea.
Hello I applied a screen protector from Samsung that costed 15 euros, the touch screen is not smooth as it was. Is there any app or trick to make the scroll and the touch screen smoother?

Search pointer speed in settings and put to max, should work well and make sure the screen protector is actually touching the screen, not raised (even slightly) I have thrown away about 15 for this reason. Good Luck
Ps Water may help as per @TheMadScientist :laugh:
