car audio - Bluetooth problem - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

I am using OOS 5.1.3, rooted with magisk.
I have problems with connecting my phone to my car via Bluetooth. It connects but doesn't stream music. I see the Bluetooth icon indicates that it is connected in the phone and car media screen but it doesn't play music. The car shows a message as they are not connected.
It works after a while, sometimes in seconds sometimes takes more than 15 minutes.
Help.?

Same. It's pretty crap. I've got a short audio cable to do aux in for the times it takes too long to connect. Sometimes have to delete the collections on both car and phone and relink.

Apparently it's a problem with lots of Oreo builds. But yes, bloody annoying.

Problem with AUX

Hi,
i have Galaxy S with I9000XWJM5 and have some strange problem when listening to music in my car. I connect phone with AUX cable to my car radio.
The problem is that playback have glitches every few seconds, it's 4-6 glitches per minute of playback. I don't know how to exactly explain that glitch. It looks like you quickly disconnect/connect jack to phone. I've had iPhone, Samsung Wave and several other mp3 players connected that way in my car and none of them had these kind of problems. I've also checked jack and cable and everything is fine. Connection to phone is also fine during testing. Do you think it's because software? Or maybe it's bad checking for AUX signal in the phone?
I'd say most likely software, but I'd be guessing.. There isn't really any way of knowing.. Is this with FLAC?
I'll try change something in my car audio. I think it might be caused by changes of inpedancy.
I don't get glitches in my car AUX unless the files themselves glitch and stutter (which they do with FLAC files). I would check to see if you have any EQ settings in your car stereo on, that is the culprit sometimes.
How is your playback with headphones/earphones? If you don't have same problems with them then it's likely something with the mini cable or the car stereo. If not, then likely something with the phone hardware/software.
Playback with headphones is 100% good (sometimes excluding FLAC playback as you said). I'll try changing EQ in car and if this don't help i'll try changing inpedance and write here what happened.
have you considered using bluetooth in car to stream audio from the phone instead of AUX cable?
like this

I was thinking about it but my car radio don't have bluetooth and I won't change it because it's pretty high end Blaupunkt and I love how it sounds.
Second thing is that a2dp has lower quality that regular aux.

I would also make sure it's not the data/phone connection somehow getting in the way of music playback. Try it on the airplane mode and see if you are getting the same glitches.

i think i know what you mean.
you are refering to those annoying sounds when a call is about to coming, or when a data transfer is in progress, or whenever your phone switches from one tower to another tower
you get the ddddddd...d.d.d.d.dd..ddd.d.d.d.d.d.d.dddd... sound on the speakers, if your phone is connected to the stereo via 3.5
that's one of the reason why i switched to BT in the car.
I've checked line out with amplifier in my house and it's working 100% fine. So i have to check AUX in my car.

Epic: AUX in car - won't pick up Bluetooth calls

I was hoping this problem would be resolved in Froyo, and as of EC05 it remains. When I'm plugged into the AUX connection in my car and receive a phone call, the car's Bluetooth handsfree picks up the call and audio does stop playing, but the phone call audio doesn't switch to Bluetooth. I have to unplug AUX, at which point Bluetooth picks up the audio.
Anybody know of any fixes for this issue?
From what I understand, there is no software fix for this. The 1/8'" audio out is hardwired to route calls to the headphone jack whenever anything is plugged into it (because they assume you will be using headphones with a integrated mic).
Your best bet is the OEM Samsung Epic Car Dock-
http://www.thecellguru.com/Products/26862
It is by far my #1 Epic accessory. It routes the audio through the usb jack into the dock, and from there to your car stereo. Bluetooth calls are not affected. It is the only working solution that I'm aware of.
@mattallica76 - Thanks for the info! That works for me, no problem.
Oh, and, also thanks for linking me to the cheapest outlet.

[Q] Bluetooth and Multiple connections

Hello.
I am using my S4 in car.
It connects at same time to my car hands free (Audi MMI) with Call Audio profile and it connects to my A2DP Music receiver (connected to my car IPOD cable) using A2DP profile.
This dongle supports also Call Audio profile but I have paired it using only A2DP.
Connections are good and phone always connect to both without connection issues.
Sometimes (often) when it is connected to both devices, music and sound stop playing (the player is going on with playing and with time counter but I can't hear any sound from car or from phone speaker).
If I disconnect car hands free, music starts playing from car audio speakers.
If I reconnect car hands free again, music stops playing.
When this happen, the only way I found to solve is to restart the phone and then all is ok (phone hands free and music streaming).
I have the problem with 4.3 but it was the same also with previuos 4.2.2 android version.
I think it is a phone problem since restarting always solve it.
Someone had the same problem or has any advice?
Thank you
Chris

No voice on GPS while on Bluetooth

I have a strange situation here. My GPS will only read aloud when I am NOT connected to Bluetooth in my car. If I am connected to bluetooth while on the phone but not actually using the Bluetooth, using the handset to talk on the phone, the GPS voice comes through the earpiece on the phone. The GPS voice works fine when I'm not connected to Bluetooth in my car. Does anybody else have this problem? Any solutions? Thanks in advance!

Ditto!
I too had that problem. I recently was traveling for work and needed GPS in the rental car. I almost missed my exit because the nav voice wasn't working over the car's bluetooth connection. Calls worked fine but not the nav voice....

Under Bluetooth settings can you see if you are connected as phone and media or just phone? Every once in a while mine just connects as phone for some strange reason!

Ok, today I tried my phone with two different Bluetooth devices to make sure I got music and GPS out at the same time and I did so i know the S5 is capable of it. So check to make sure your devices are actually are connected as phone and media when paired next time just to make sure.I know my Motorola roadster2 sometimes only connects as phone even though it is set up as both, I usually have to reboot both the phone and and my roadster to get it to connect as both fir what ever reason. I hope that helps, if not I am at a loss!
I tested this the other day, and it works fine for me. I am using a Kenwood DNX8120 head unit, and it is connected with the S5 with both the headset and media bluetooth profiles. Note that the head unit needs to be on the bluetooth input for me to hear it since it is using the media profile for the GPS voice. If it is on another input (i.e. tuner, CD), you won't hear the phone's GPS.
Still nothing. I cleared my cars system memory and repaired the phone. The weird thing is that it was working when I got the phone a few weeks ago. It worked for a week, then all of a sudden stopped.
A tad bit late, but here nonetheless

I know this is an old thread, but I wonder if you were listening to bluetooth audio or not. If you weren't listening to bluetooth audio on your car radio, then you wouldn't hear the voice navigation prompts. Unfortunately I don't believe voice navigation works like the phone.
The phone will mute any audio currently playing and automatically switch to the phone.
The nav audio works through bluetooth audio only. It doesn't mute anything so unless you are listening to bluetooth audio you won't hear the prompts (they are there, but you aren't listening to the source where they come through).
I think the solution as stated was to turn off Bluetooth media profile so it only comes out of your phone and leave on bluetooth call audio profile so it comes through the car.

Desperate Bluetooth problems...

S6 + Edge Att.
OK so here's the deal:
There are two bluetooth connections to the car; Calls & Media
If I have both connected, the bluetooth connection constantly drops.
If I disconnect Calls and leave Media connected, its flawless.
If I disconnect Media and leave calls connected, flawless.
But when both are connected it wont last 5 minutes without disconnecting.
This issue is close to making me want to drive the car into a tree - if anyone has a suggest I seriously appreciate it!
try resetting the car audio setup, and remove the pair between the phone and the Car Audio
sometimes even if you reset it the car audio might keep the paired devices saved
is this a OEM car audio set up, or a aftermarket one.
please lemme know

Thanks - its the BT connection to a 2015 Acura. I have reset it several times. Another clue is that if the phone is reset to stock it works well for about 2 weeks. I have very few apps any I restore them the day the phone is wiped so its not an app or setting...it's almost as if something get cached and then starts to falter....
See if the car audio bluetooth is still visible after you have paired it.
Trying doing this with another phone.
After resetting the car audio did you check if the car has the phone still as an authorized devices
If true that will be the culprit
What are the apps you use?
Streaming/offline apps
Almost forgot....
Don't let the car retrieve your contact details and phone book. Sometimes this makes the cars audio to go loco

Thanks Pubbaa - going to try another phone to see if it happens as well...

check if the phonebook is shared with the car audio, if it asks to sync ...don't let it
issue with call logs and phonebook contacts can cause the audio system to restart or hang, i faced a similar issue.
