Freeze the updater app.

Ok so im on stock rom rooted with andomedia kernal so i can have mobile ap.
I delete the system updater apk to avoid update msgs however, at night it constantly resets my radio and at other times it does too.
It says that this is a side effect of removing this? on the safe guide to remove apks.
Anyway i can disable these update notifications? CAuse i already am up to date on d118?
Please its driving me nuts.
I can't remember where it is - search in the CDMA Hero threads. but esentially rename otacerts.xml
Can I use clockworkmod recovery to reflash the 2 part pre rooted ginger 2.3.3 over itself?
I installed it and then used ti backup to make a backup of android market. Then I uninstalled android market thinking that I could restore it from ti backup. Not the case. Now I am stuck with a halfway functioning, older version android market app I found online.
I'm thinking the best way to go about getting things back to "normal" would be to just reflash 2.2.3, however if someone can tell me how to reinstall anrdoid market to fully function again that would be nicer.
Yes you need to reflash. It can be done by the update.zip method. There is also the 4.6.8 update available as a zip file now.
Dont try to tinker with google apps. Most of the time you cannot undo what you did
where can I get the ota zip file? thanks!
I have a somewhat similar problem. Before the OTA update went out, I was running a rooted 2.2.1 with TI. I had removed a few apps that I didn't like, but nothing specifically a "Google App" (unless the "Emergency Alerts" app counts as one of those).
Well, today the update became available for my device and when I went to download and update, it simply restarted my device and said "Update has failed."
Now, when I go into TI, I'm unable to reinstall the Emergency Alerts or even see that it's one of my backed up applications that was removed.
Ideas?

After i read that you could keep root with the latest update i gave it a try. Im just rooted with stock recovery. I deleted some bloatware and installed hide soft keys was all i did. I downloaded the update and when it went to install i get an error msg. Message was er: 0x1117008. Then would reboot and a message would pop up saying was a problem during installation, no changes were made. I have since restored all the bloat i deleted thinking that may help, tried again and get same message. Anyone have an idea what it may be?

Not sure, but you may have to unroot first to install the update. What they probably meant by you can keep root is that they didn't patch it to prevent root. So, once you unroot, install update, then you can reroot again. Just my guess.

I get the same error. Any update?
You'll need to restore all bloat. Pretty much need to be completely stock before updating. I was rooted with tethering provisions removed and Stock LG Browser installed. I has to fix the provisioning and remove the Browser (also adding any system/app files I removed) before the update was successful.

Have you restored your hide nav keys? You can also download a completely stock rooted rom somewhere on here and make sure your system apps are the same. I had to do this to find my BrowserProxyProvider.apk/odex I accidentally deleted and pushed them back into system/app.
Okay I ran into a weird problem which I can't fix on my own, so I hope you guys can help me there.
I own a Stock non rooted SM-N910F 5.1.1!
Now to the problem, the last Facebook update bugged the app somehow for me. (Forceclose on startup) So I deleted the last updates through the app manager and tried to reinstall the updates through the market. Got a strange 505 error. Now the strange stuff happened. The Facebook app wasn't to be seen anywere else in the app drawer, as if the botched reinstall deleted the system app.
The market says I don't have FB installed and when I try I get the same 505 error.
I downloaded the facebook apk from a mirror and installed it via ADB so I can get a more detailed error message. I got the: INSTALL_FAILED_CONFLICTING_PROVIDER as far as I know this means some leftovers of the system app are still installed which prevents the new install?
So what to do? I really can't root because of work policies.
Is there a way to flash the original firmware with Odin without loosing my data or tripping knox? (Like with the Nexus Toolkit for Nexus devices?)
i've posted this before and today it happens to me again i lost my daily data limit. GooglePlayServices used my 1.5gb data in the background for downloading System update
but why? i'm on custom AEX Rom then how
please if anybody have solution for this reply me i'm frustrated from this
Isn't this project mainline? the function that allow system update from play store?
i don't understand. my problem is i'm using custom rom and when i install gapps Google Play Services app download Stock Rom OTA package in background by using Mobile data
in custom rom and then show an error message "installing system update failed" i just need to stop it to happen permanently. i know its a Android one device and ota's come directly from Google and device fingerprint r same in stock and custom rom in build.prop but is there no way to get rid of this problem

Are you on Android 9 or 10? If 9 then it's a problem, if 10 then it's the one I said above, the option to update some system component through PlayStore. However I haven't found an option on 10 to block this update from happening.
So, is the answer to set it to only update over wifi, then OP does not waste all the data?
