Okay I ran into a weird problem which I can't fix on my own, so I hope you guys can help me there.
I own a Stock non rooted SM-N910F 5.1.1!
Now to the problem, the last Facebook update bugged the app somehow for me. (Forceclose on startup) So I deleted the last updates through the app manager and tried to reinstall the updates through the market. Got a strange 505 error. Now the strange stuff happened. The Facebook app wasn't to be seen anywere else in the app drawer, as if the botched reinstall deleted the system app.
The market says I don't have FB installed and when I try I get the same 505 error.
I downloaded the facebook apk from a mirror and installed it via ADB so I can get a more detailed error message. I got the: INSTALL_FAILED_CONFLICTING_PROVIDER as far as I know this means some leftovers of the system app are still installed which prevents the new install?
So what to do? I really can't root because of work policies.
Is there a way to flash the original firmware with Odin without loosing my data or tripping knox? (Like with the Nexus Toolkit for Nexus devices?)

Just started to have issues downloading apps from the market. Im on any connection and im connected to the internet but they fail right away with this message "Download Unsuccessful" ..........rooted too. Any Ideas?
*Edit*
I need some others to check this out
Last night I reset to factory defaults and after 1-2 downloads from the market everything after I tried to download fails, rooted. Then I flashed the stock firmware downloaded a couple apps no problem, rooted, couple more downloaded then FAIL! Not able to download until I do a factory reset, even than I can only get 1- maybe 2 downloaded.
I'm having trouble as well. I'm rooted, I posted yesterday but nobody replied. Can somebody out hedre try and install fring?
Rooted. And no problems.
Are you signed into Talk for authentication?
I had similar problem on my EVO yesterday as well.. So i don't think it's a phone issue...

I did a reset back to stock pulled down a couple apps then dead after that...CAn anyone pull apps off the market right now?
I was having major problems with apps, then I did a cache wipe and factory reset. Problem solved.
I was also restoring apps from mybackup pro, which may have caused the issue. The apps were backuped from my evo and restored on the epic.
Its a apk I removed just don't know which one :/
I take that back...I lost market functionality again and have not removed any files only rooted AM i the only one experiencing this?
I rooted (using the older line by line instructions, not the single automatic script) and have not had any problems with the market.
i rooted with the one click script and have been downloading apps with no problem, downloaded an update to gps status tonight on 3g and barcode scanner over wifi tonight.
Im having the same issue, I rooted so i can do free wifi tethering (hotspot) and now i cant even download the ****ing app to do so.....
Hey all,
Everytime I root my 1.2 device with manual nooter 4.5.6 (haven't tried .18), I get one download out of the Android Market. After that the Market.apk disappears from the system/app directory and I can no longer download apps. The end result of this is that I'm pretty much hosed. I've tried putting SU File Manager on to sideload apps, but it can't installed BusyBox because of the market problem, so no luck with that. I've reproduced this issue at least half a dozen times, using CWR to delete all the user data, re-registering the stock install, and then rooting again.
At this point I'm staying stock until I feel confident I can download more than one app from the market on a rooted device.
So, has anyone else experience anything like this, and if so, is there a solution?
I have this same problem. No solution yet.
It may be related to a download directory bug which has been fixed. I updated to MN4.5.18 over 4.5.6. Everything worked well untill a recent update to 4.5.25. The market crashed again. This issue seems not solved yet. So I had to flash back 4.5.18.
Same here - .18 works very well once you figure out you have to uninstall the apps that want to update and then reinstall clean to remove the chance of bootloops. I was considering doing a complete wipe again and flashing .25, but I've decided to stick it out with .18 until they get squared away.
Overall, MN4.5.18 kicks ass for all intents and purposes, and I'd suggest moving up to that.

I can't complete the ota update to gingerbread because I temprooted with visionary+ and used titanium to uninstall some pre-loaded apps. So, I figured if I reinstalled those apps the update should work, right?
I reinstalled the apps I got rid of except web2go. I found the web2goshortcut.apk and tried to reinstall it but it needs the odex as well. I've searched google for the odex and I can't find it anywhere.
My questions are, will what I'm doing even work and if so does anyone have the web2goshortcut.odex I could snag?
I know I could just factory reset but I'd like to avoid that if I can.
Thanks in advance.
Don't think it has anything to do with the apps you uninstalled. Might have something to do with being temp rooted. Have you tried to uninstall visionary, reboot, and then run update?

Sorry about putting this in the wrong forum.
My phone isn't currently temprooted, I only did that when uninstalling the apps and then I unrooted.
The reason the ota is failing is because I'm getting a status 7 when it tries to update web2go because the app isn't there.
You'll have to put back stock Froyo to get past the error due to removed app and apply the OTA update.
However, if you had used temproot to disable apps only instead of removing them, the OTA updated would've succeeded AND the disabled apps would remain disabled, the setting is retained. So oddly, there's no advantage to removal vs disable except a small space savings, but a real disadvantage to full removal.

In retrospect I realize that removing the apps was a bad idea.
So it sounds like you guys are saying reinstalling the apps I removed won't work? If so I'll probably just root my phone instead of getting it back to stock.
Shouldn't matter whether you reinstall missing apps generating errors or the entire OEM ROM. I'd just do whichever is easier. Well, if you replace apps the OTA update will leave all settings, apps etc. as is so there's that to consider.
Thing is for the OTA update to 'think' you have stock Froyo. How you do that is up to you.

Wouldn't you have to install those apps back to the system folder? If you delete them, then install from the market, you are turning system apps into user apps... right guys?
He could use the update from the store sd cards, but that would lose all data. Double check that, sorry but I forgot how to fix stock problems a long time ago.

Hey, everytime I open my Google Play Store (which I had to get from the internet) it opens for a while, until I try to download something and then is crashes. After it crashes by trying to download something and I try to re-open it, it just crashes on startup and I get a message saying "Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped." So this has been happening since yesterday when I used Clean Master to clear up some space on my device, I also link some apps to play using Titanium Backup (don't know if that has anything to do with it) and I attempted to uninstall Google+, and was successful also I applied a custom patch to the Play Store when it worked using lucky patcher. I searched everywhere on the internet and the only solutions i could find are:
1) Clear Play Store and Google Play Services Caches.
2) Enable Download Manager (Which I can't seem to find but I'm not entirely sure on that one so I'll post screenies)
The download manager shown in the screen cap below has no enable or disable option with it)
3) Wipe Android Device completely (Which I did and problem still persisted)
4) Re-Flash ROM. (Which I also did and the problem still continues
So, Im on a completely stock firmware and as soon as I finish going through the setup process feeling relieved I see a notification in my notification shade from the calendar app stating that Google Play Services isn't enabled or something and when I click on the notification the phone fumbles for a second and then the calendar app crashes. After a few minutes, while I was searching for answers, I got my email notifications and everything seemed to be fine. UNTIL I installed the Google Play Store once again, only to have it open and my first attempt to download an app made it crash. And now I'm back to square one. I cannot find "Download Manager" at the bottom of my application list. But I do have two applications under "D" in the App Manager, both called "Downloads".
I'm able to install APKs off the browser just by downloading and installing as normal, and my accounts seem to be working fine. Except the error in the google account "sync error" followed by a message at the bottom of the screen saying sync services are currently unavailable. I'm able to use Youtube and other apps easily without a problem. The only problem is my Play Store. And yes I've already re-cleared the cache and even just cleared the data from both play services and play store in application manager. Problem still persists.
Previous Errors:
1) Device is not provisioned data services error (Which I assume I've fixed because I don't get that error anymore)
2) Google Play Services not supported by your device. (Whenever I opened Youtube, but that doesn't appear anymore)
I'm really out of options this time, I was stumped after I factory restored with ODIN successfully and still was unable to fix my problem. Could this be a Google problem or am I screwed? Really need answers, so THANK YOU VERY MUCH in advance.

UPDATE: I was also able to find my "secdownloadprovider.apk" in my system/app but when I click install is says application not installed...
P.S: If there are any files you would like me to search my device for please say so, I'm becoming really desperate.
New problem
Okay so I decided to wipe the phone once more and re-install the ROM (Which is a stock MF3 ROM that I got from XDA) and the problem still continues, I've been up all night trying to figure this out. Now apps like Google+ (Which I hade to install from the internet on my device) say that the Google Play Services on my device is not supported by my device? What does this mean? It used to happen with the newest version of youtube, now im currently using the old version of youtube which has no problem, and im pretty sure if i were to update it id get the same error. Someone pelase give me some insight. What can possibly be done?

You used all files in the full MF3 Odin? I don't know why it wouldn't work, but your only option may be updating to MK2. It's a very peculiar issue. You could also wipe data in stock recovery and then flash the Odin file to make sure it's as clear as possible.

FIXED IT
After much searching for the problem I gave up and decided to try reloading the stock OS once more and it worked that time... I still have no idea what caused the problem...
Similar issue
Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I'm haing a similar issue with NI1. I'm using titanium backup to restore many of my apps and don't know if it's something I'm doing there that's causing the problem to keep coming back.
I've reloaded stock rom via Safestrap at least twice. But the problem is still there. I can't be certain but i think it may have to do with the syncing of contacts or data with google.
You could always try to reflash the gapps package... If you freeze a part of the gapps package like google services framework, other apps seem to not want to work.

Gapps package? This is the i337. There is no gapps package for the i337 on mf3 or nl1

Hi guys
I had ANE2 firmware loaded previously and allowed update to ANG2, which has that limitation on writing to the sd card.
I backed up via Titanium root, and restored back to ANE2 rom.
I have then rooted again via towelroot, and have restored all my apps and data, all without tripping KNOX I'm happy to say.
my problem is that I no longer have the stock sms\mms app (com.android.mms)
the app was there initially but would force close every time I ran it, same for any SMS app I tried
I did get a message like 'cannot downgrade from database 69 to 68) in one of the apps, so I suspect the ANG2 updated the sms database, and now the apps cannot read the new version.
I tried to restore again from titanium, thereafter the app was gone completely!
I tried wiping the app cache and data when it was still visible, no luck.
anyone got any idea on how to get this back without doing a wipe (again!)
I suspect if I could find the database file in the file system I could play around with it, but no idea where it sits on the s5
