Official F1 app on Fire HD 10 - Fire HD 8 and HD 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone got the Official F1 App to work on an Fire HD 10 (2017)?
It installs and seems to start, but just shows a black screen for a split of a second and then exits without any (error) notice.
Tried to install it via Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.softpauer.f1timingapp2014.basic
I also tried some older versions I got from ApkMirror, but neither worked.
Would be really sad if I couldn't get this to work, as this app was one of the main reasons for me to buy a Fire HD.
Any advice?

"Remote Mouse for Fire TV" APP (latest v1.08) has stopped working in the Fire-TV 2nd
I am aware that the "FireStarter" APP for Fire-TV is not working with the New FireOS-5 anymore and the developer of this application has promised to fix it, as soon as amazon release the final version of FireOS-5 for all the Fire-TV units...
But, someone has noticed that the "Mouse Toggle for Fire TV" latest v1.08 by fluxii (Remote Mouse for Fire TV) APP, has also stopped working in the Fire-TV (2nd Gen) with FireOS-5 ??
-Mouse Toggle for Fire TV, by fluxii:

Yep, not working here either. Fire TV 2 broke a couple of apps I use.
I decided to bought the "Mouse Toggle for Fire TV" APP latest version 1.03, that supposedly would work with the NEW Amazon Fire-TV (2nd Gen with FireOS-5), but it don't work for me, and then I had to request a US$2.99 full refund from the Google Play Store.
Unfortunately this latest version 1.03 of the "Mouse Toggle for Fire TV" released last October 10, that supposedly would work with the NEW Amazon Fire-TV (2nd Gen) and includes some Fixes for FireOS-5, also has problems and is not working in the Fire-TV (2nd Gen/FireOS-5)!

I'll try to get in touch with the developers, to ask them if they are aware of this problems, or if they have a fixed and newer version of the APP...
Although the APP can be installed without problems, unfortunately when you press the Play/Pause on the Remote (once or twice), nothing happens and the circular pointer never appears on the screen!
For me this is one of the functions that must bring the new FireOS-5, but unfortunately did not bring!!
So for me this "Mouse Toggle for Fire TV" APP is essential, so I really hope that the developers could correct all the incompatibilities and errors, to make it work as fluent as it was on the Fire-TV (1st Gen)!!!

Hi, Are you using any other apps that use ADB? The app is designed with proper support for Fire OS 5 so it will not take over the single ADB connection that is available like some other currently incompatible apps. I would recommend at least temporarily disabling any other ADB apps and toggling the apps enable switch off and then back on to see if that helps. If you continue to have issues with the app please let me know here or via the email address in the app.
Thank you!
Note: For future reference for anyone that sideloads APK's from a computer or app: Make sure you DISCONNECT after you are done sideloading or you will likely have issues when trying to use ADB from another PC / device / app in the future.
Example:
AdbFire(or similar app): Click the ‘Disconnect’ button.
ADB command line: adb disconnect 192.168.0.10:5555
Note: Replace '192.168.0.10' in the above example with the IP address of your Fire TV.
Hi iostouchdev,
Thanks for your quick reply!
I am still having problems with the app, and as you have requested, I have decided to communicate it through here...
I am aware that the APP is designed with proper support for FireOS-5, however it has worked flawlessly and also all the time without fail in my Fire-TV (1st Gen), but unfortunately in my New Fire-TV (2nd Gen) never has worked as it should.
Only once or twice I could start the APP, activating, deactivating and then activating the ADB again... But the APP worked in a very erratic manner and for a short time (several minutes).
I am not using other apps that use ADB, but have tested sometimes the FireStarter APP, that it worked very well... But I have noticed, that using this APP together with "Mouse Toggle" (or removing FireStarter), has no effect in the strange behavior of the "Mouse Toggle" APP.
However, as you have already recommended me, I have disabled temporarily other apps, and have also implemented a "Factory Reset" and then install the "Mouse Toggle" APP only, but it does not work... Using only the "Mouse Toggle" APP, and to avoid potential conflicts, not installing any other apps.
I am aware that the new Fire-TV (2nd Gen), is having many problems, both hardware and software, and therefore many APPs are also running a little bad.
As I said before, for me the "Mouse Toggle" APP for Fire TV" is EXCELLENT, So, I have faith and also hope, that you gradually will correct all the small faults in this APP, when Amazon can finish and release a version of FireOS-5 that works better than the current Beta version!
Thanks again for your fast response and for all your help!

Did you uninstall FireStarter?
As I already have explained... I have uninstalled fully FireStarter.
I've also tried installing only this Mouse-Toggle APP after doing a FULL Factory-Reset on my Fire-TV (2nd Gen), totally alone and without any other APP running, and I could not get it to work for me!
Curiously, I also have noticed, that I always have to slide and start the Button "Enable the Mouse Service", because unfortunately the APP never starts alone, when I turn ON (Start-Up) my Fire-TV...
What I'm trying to say is that, apart from the APP does not work, never has either initiated by himself, so I always had to start it, every time that my Fire-TV is restarted... Although I always have checked "Auto Start the Mouse Service on Device Start-Up"
Since the APP has worked flawlessly on the Fire-TV (1st Gen) with Previous FireOS, and the Fire-TV (2nd Gen) with new FireOS-5 are currently having many issues with many APPs... I am starting to believe, that could be maybe a fault of the unfinished FireOS-5 and not of the Mouse-Toggle APP itself!
Hello again iostouchdev,
I just receive the Latest 5.0.3_user_532011220 update on my 2nd Gen. FireTV, but unfortunately the "Mouse Toggle" APP latest version 1.03, still not working for me at all...
I would like to know if you are working on a new version of the APP or if you are waiting for a Final or more stable FireOS-5 to Correct the incompatibilities that "Mouse Toggle" is currently having with the New 2nd Gen. FireTV units?
Do you have available a version newer than v1.03, even Beta, that I could help to test it, while you finish and release an improved version?
Thanks in advance for all your help!

Dude, before you waste any more of this Dev's and everyone else's time, can you list all the processes you have running on this box, and whether you're connected via Ethernet or WiFi, whether you've tried resetting your device and installing just this Mouse App first, whether you've tried enabling and disabling ADB, etc?
You seem to be complaining about almost everything but not following anyone's advice.

I'm having the same problems. Apparently something with the latest FireOS on the ver 2 boxes broke something. This app no longer works.
I wish I read this thread before I bought Remote Mouse for Fire TV. Mouse clicks are still not functioning on my Fire TV 2. It seems Wukong remote is having the same issue as well. Does anyone have an update on the problem?

I would recommend toggling 'ADB Debugging' off and then on again as usually the issue is that a previous ADB connection was not disconnected. You can also send email to the address listed in the app if you continue to experience any issues. Thank you
Edit:
Also verify that the app on the Fire TV is updated to the latest version(v1.08) as it is required for the newer Fire TV models. The version is listed in the lower left corner of the app in recent versions.

All versions up to date and tried turning ADB Debugging on and off. Still only get a moving cursor and unable to click. Interestingly though, the DPad function is also not working. I will have to email the devs.
iostouchdev, does it work on your FTV2?

Are you referring to the 'Remote Mouse for Fire TV' app or the 'Mouse Toggle' app? The reason I ask is the latest version of the 'Remote Mouse for Fire TV' app is 1.08.
Regarding the beta: I'll make sure to PM you if I decide to create a beta list for the app. Thanks!

That is so strange... Version 1.08 on my Fire TV 2 and version 1.02 app from the website on my Nexus 7 tablet to control. I've tried turning ADB debugging On and Off several times and still only get a moving cursor. Is there something I'm overlooking like how to actually click? I'm tapping the touch pad area and nothing happens, but then again the DPad doesn't work either.
$3 seems a bit pricey.. wish it was .99cents the way it started. Need to update 2 sticks and 2 FTVs.
I'm using the mouse toggle app and it's working well on my Fire TV. Most of the issues I have stem with the wonky connection the Fire TV has with its remote. With that said, I wish there was a way to make the mouse faster.
OK the latest version is now working on latest Firestick & FireTV. Only problem now is the scrolling feature doesn't work. Been trying with both Xfinity apps and no go but my Bluetooth keyboard works fine.

Possible to install Play Store on the new HD 8?

I recently ordered the 8th gen HD 8 and I'm a little worried because I've read that they've disabled workarounds to install the Play Store on it. I'm not entirely sure if it's true since I don't actually have it in my hand yet, but does anyone else know? Any help would be appreciated.
You can install, but I heard it does not connect to Google at all (stuck at login) probably for everyone.
Thanks for the reply. I actually found a video that shows how to get it working. It's a couple weeks old, so maybe they'll push out an upload blocking it. As far as I know it all depends on the order the Play Store APKs are installed.
See this thread for Fire HD 8 with FireOS 6.3.x.x .... https://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/help/fire-os-6-3-x-play-store-fire-hd-8-t3850363

OK thanks
Sent from my Infinix HOT 4 Lite using BMstories
It works. But... I've had to create a 2nd account as my main Google account has Two Factor Authentication.
This is what seems to be causing an issue with login where you're just in a loop.

Can you re-install the Google APKs again and reboot your Fire tablet
It's very possible to install the Google Play store on my Fire HD 8 2018 without Fire registration

No location services for Pokemon Go on Fire HD 10 9th Gen HELP!!!

I recently purchased a Fire HD 10 (9th generation) for my son and he would really like to be able to play Pokemon Go on it.
I downloaded Fire Toolbox v11.0 and was able to get the Google Services installed and was able to download Pokemon Go but after launching the game the location services will not work so the game is currently unplayable. Has anyone else had this issue and is there a fix for it? Not sure if it is important but the tablet is currently running Fire OS 7.3.1.7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am also having the same problem.
Fire HD 10 (9th generation)
Fire OS 7.3.1.7
I'm pretty sure its because the tablet is using Amazon location services and not Google location.
Google maps also silently "fails" and just closes after it opens
and TVision (TMobiles version of streaming TV) also cannot get my location.
I am having the same issue with TVision...have tried a few tethering options by tethering to my mobile but that doesn't work. I am on a 7th generation HD 10. Pretty annoying since I never had an issue with PS Vue or YouTube TV, but switched to Tvision last month and cant get it to work.
I don't know these issues. Connect your Fire tablet into your PC and run
Code:
adb shell logcat

App will not work / wrong platform

Hi everybody,
I hope I am in the right forum for my problem.
My parents are reading their local newpaper only digital as an ePaper.
There was an official app from the newspaper and on their Fire Tablet 10 HD everything worked perfect.
I have to say that I downloaded and installed this newspaper app with the Google Play Store.
Now there is a newer version with a big update of the app.
When I start this newspaper app it says "This app ony works on '%1$s' platforms".
But I am pretty sure this app will still work on this Fire HD 10.
Is it somehow possible to "fake" to have another deivce or android version?
I think this newspaper app checks something like the device name or Android version.
I tested this newspaper app with Bluestacks on my PC.
If the virtual device is named „Amazon Fire HD 10“ the app shows the error message like mentioned in my first post.
But when I rename the virtual device to „Samsung Galaxy Tab“ it will work...
So I think I only have to rename the Fire HD in the settings into another device.
Has anyone an idea? BuildProp Editor maybe?

Fire HD 10 + (11th Gen - 2021 Version) and Fire Toolbox 17.1 - Google Services break Alexa App

Is anyone else experiencing this? Using the Fire toolbox to install the Play Store affectively breaks the Alexa App. I don't know if it's something the toolbox itself is doing or if its the google services. I do know that I have the Play Store and Google services loaded without issue on my Fire HD 10 (2019). If anyone has any insight or knows some troubleshooting techniques it would be greatly appreciated. Basically what happens is when I go to load the app it pops the Alexa splash page for a split second but then just drops right back to the device home page, the app shows as recently ran in the history but obviously not in a way that is useful. Once I have broken her only way i have figured to get her back is by factory reset - using the toolbox to restore Alexa doesn't solve the problem.

May I suggest that you bring this to the attention of @Datastream33 on the FTB thread? Support for the new 2021 tablets has just been added so I'm sure he'd like to know any issues that arise.

Thanks I posted in there. Its funny cuz I found this forum from that thread but then I'm a newb and created this new one instead of doing just that. Hopefully he see's.
Hey, just wanted to know if you resolved your issue?
I just recently installed Fire Toolbox on a Fire Tablet 10 2019, and found it completely broke the Alexa app. I also noticed there was a banner across the main page of the Alexa app stating the app should be updated.
I found I could install the Amazon Appstore app from Google Play, and in the Amazon App Store they had the Alexa app available for install. I installed the Alexa app, and it appeared to update the original Alexa app, and the update banner was removed. I did notice that after first install, the text was all out of alignment in the app, but closing the app and opening it again, seemed to fix it.
So far, it appears to be working, but I havenet tested it long term. Also, if you install the app from the Amazon App Store, make sure all the permissions are activated to ensure everything works.
