Benefits of A2SD?

Does apps to SD allow you to keep apps and transfer them to different rom's so u don't have to redownload everything again? What's the difference between using the app and partitioning the SD card?

Mainly A2SD helps with phone memory. You still need an app to backup your Apps if you install a new ROM, such as App Monster or Titanium Backup. Some apps don't function when saved to the SD, so check that before you think the app doesn't work.

[Q] APPS2SD How to disable for widgets application.

Hi all,
I am having some problems with widgets not loading in Elelinux 7.1.4 RC2 and i supouse they are related to integrated apps2sd. I have moved using adb theese applications to internal storage and I think they are working fine (at least in a couple of hours). Is there any other way to move apps from /sd-ext to /system or adb is just the way to not use apps2sd....
Many Thanks to all and sorry about my bad english..

I had this problem a while back when using a CM based rom. I think the best way to use apps2sd is to use the method where you partition your sd card. I think the rom your using has the ability to select the default location of installed apps somewhere in the settings. Dont let it force any apps to sd, choose what apps to move on your own. Hope this helps lol ive always used the partition sd card method
Doesn't work...
If you choose internal storage... it uses /data/app which a link to /sd-ext/app so it doesn't work ... If you choose SDcard I think it will use sdcard Froyo method...

I always move apps to internal with root explorer. I have an ext partition so I move apps from data app to system app and this works fine for me. Don't forget to mount rw and it should work fine : )

Of course, this is true. Just not as easy as with root explorer for notices : )

There's no settings for this. With ext partition all apps go to SD. It does feel like a conflict to me between froyo apps2SD and the ext method as the phone settings I always leave alone as I think they assume you have the froyo ( Google ) apps2SD. I may be wrong but my guess is a dev like elelinux could do a script but he is so busy producing great work : )

try miui with a2sd support
APP2SD is already installed.
and it refairs that apps are on SD!
any solution?
which rom do you use? if your rom supports a2sd, download a2sdgui from market and move dalvik cache to sd using this app.
I seem to have the same issue. Using imilka Incredible S 1.1 Rom, and a 32gb Patriot card, with a 1gb ext4 partition. However, when I run a2sdgui, it says no ext partition detected.
It looked like gparted created it ok, but maybe there is a problem. I have about 237mb total phone storage, which is running out!
I get this error when I have file system errors.
not sure how to solve it on a partition though.

I have gotten this on occassion during an app download/install from the market.
I have simply ignored it, and tried the download again until it succeeded.
I have no clue why it happens, but in my case, it is nothing more than an annoyance.
FWIW, I am utilizing a 2048G SD-Ext4, with lots of room.

[Q] Link2sd not working crashing app's on cm12 (5.0.2)

Hi I have a big problem with link2sd on my galaxy s5 g900f with a 128gb sd card and cm12 for klte (android 5.0.2) build 12-20150223-klte. First at all when I link a app (apk, dex, lib, data or obb) to my ext4 partition the app stops working and craches everytime at start of the app (it worked before linking to seconde partition) I also rebooted my phone after linking and it stil doesnt work. So then I tried unlinking the app and it stil doesnt work even after a reboot. Than a deleted the app and I [tried] to reinstal the app (also after a reboot) and than I get a unknow error of google play store and it doesnt want to instal the app again. So a deleted the play store data and cache and searched my internal memory of rests of the app in android/data and android/obb folder and there was nothing so than I reboted my phone and tryed again to instal the app and I can't stil not instal the app.
I make a screen recording of my problem you kan see it on this link:
https://drive.google.com/folder/d/0B0Kc_erpRrfKalV3RlpxdGM3blE/edit
Also my sd card's first partition is a exfat of +-64gb for my documents, and the second partition is the ext4 of also +-64 gb fore my games and apps for link2sd
Thanks!
Lionel
