greetings,
i have a problem with facebook messenger that it's always crashing on me, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling both FB and messenger but it didn't help. I'm rooted with magisk and xposed on march update ( 8.0). any ideas?
no plugins related to FB or messenger whatsoever, messenger build number : 174.0.0.24.82
I have the same problem. I have magisk and Xposed as well. :<
remove xposed. for some reason they can't co-exist
At my side, it's the stories (if too much) that made it crash.
Happens on both messenger and facebook.

Facebook Crashing after Update
Just recently updated to MJ4 from MJ1.
Perhaps just coincidentally, Facebook keeps crashing.
First it was flashing this message: "java.lang.numberformatexception: invalid float"
Then after updating to the latest Facebook (3.8) it just completely crashes after a few seconds.
Loading the old Facebook APK does the same.
Is Facebook certainly working for you?
EDIT:
Found cause: Xprivacy was feeding strings that Facebook did not like. Fill the Xpiracy fields with something that won't violate character types. or use Randomize.
ever since i did the OxygenOS 2.2.0 update on my OP2 (android 5.1.1 build A2003_14_151211) , google messenger crashes as soon as I try to start it ... tried using google hangouts for SMS's but also crashes .. therefore I ended up without an SMS application which I need very much. Any idea please what I can do before I go for the factory reset path
Try to clear cache from recovery and settings and reboot. Used to happen with my phone app. This worked for me.

Have you updated android system web view.just uninstall the update and see the difference.if the problem persist you must format the device and do not update the android system web view.
i cleared cache from Reboot > Recovery option ... i did uninstall the web view update ... i even tried uninstall the google messenger update ... but problem still persists ... I did the factory reset two days ago and also problem persists ... cannot use any of these services ... google messenger (for SMS's), hangouts, contacts icon, phone icon .... all with same behavior.. when opening application, it crashes and closes instantly therefore will not let you be able to use the application

Hey! There is definitely no problem with the Android System Webview, I suggest (unfortunately) flashing TWRP, reflashing full OxygenOS 2.2.0 zip and a factory reset! Believe me it will fix all your problems!

I haven't advice to uninstall the web view.I only said that don't update webview and if you updated web view than uninstall the update.
Web view is a must app for android system.without it many Google apps will crash.
Hi guys .. something weird every time I try to open links from Twitter , Facebook or WhatsApp The application crashing and force close ! My p6 on last Android 7.1.1 , I have done everything possible , clearing cache.. Uninstall the apps re install them nothing works
Please if someone hase the same problem tell me how to solve it
Thank you all
The title says it all.
Especially when launching again Google Apps, Facebook, Messenger, etc. I need to restart before they can be launched again.
I'm on Havoc-OS (21-09-19) by travarilo. I did not flash any other kernel.
Magisk modules I have: Youtube Vanced, Sysconfig Patcher, Viper4Android.
Any help would be appreciated.
I also had the same problem. I have uninstalled naptime and checked again and I did not face anything after that.
P. S: no need to restart the phone just force stop the app and it will open again.
I also have Naptime installed. Is that the cause?
Having a strange issue with all email clients, Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook. All clients are force closing after opening. These are the only programs that are having this issue. I am on 10.3.2, rooted and xXx 10.2. I have uninstalled substratum and removed all overlays via TWRP. I uninstalled xXx and still the issue persists. I have tried uninstalling the clients and then reinstalling, yet the issue remains.
Any suggestions and help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Did you by any chance removed Android System Webview? Try installing that from the Play Store or dirty flash your ROM.

Thanks for the reply. I did try that and it wasn't it. It turned out to be a Magisk Module that got re- enabled, overlay mount fix. Once I deleted that all was well.
Thanks again!
