My wife's S7 Edge just upgraded to Oreo about a week ago.
Just noticed that the phone won't fast charge any more even though my S7 Edge (Unlocked firmware) charges just fine on same charger/cable in fast charge mode (the phone used to charge in fast charge mode before).
It charges very slow as well (50% -> 100% in about 3 hours 45 minutes).
Yes, fast charge setting is enabled, I tried clearing cache partition. Haven't tried to factory reset though (trying to avoid it since she may kill me if she has to setup everything again).
I had this problem yesterday probably because my cord is coming apart

Hi, last couple of weeks i've been having a problem with the S7 edge while charging , it says it is fast charging but it's actually not, ex. when i plug it in it says fast charging (approximately 1 h 30 min until fully charged) i come back 30 min later and it is 1h 28 min until fully charged.
If you wipe your cache it will start charging normally but you have to do shut your phone down wipe cache every time you want to charge your phone.
I have two different chargers both samsung original and it's the same with both.

Hey guys I have a sprint variant and my phone does not charge (USB) when it is switched on wireless charging works but very slow and the phone gets super hot while charging wirelessly. Phone takes around 8 hours to charge
When i switch off the phone phone does charge via USB however it is very slow and with the wireless fast charger it gets very hot. Will a factory reset/wipe solve the issue?
Hard to know for sure. If it's a software issue, then yes a reset should solve it. But if it's a hardware failure, no.
Before doing a factory reset, you might try booting into recovery and clearing cache. I wouldn't expect that to work, but it's easy to do and won't hurt anything.

Replace charger cord
Hi guys!
Recently I updated my Galaxy S6 edge+ (G928C) to Nougat. Since the update installed I am facing two key charging issues that I am stating as under:
1. My phone battery doesn't reaches 100%
I have noticed that my phone is unable to reach 100% when its charging, it only only goes upto 98% or but fails to reach 100%. I have to replug the charger at 98% and then it goes to 100% that too slowly.
2. The phone now charges slowly
My phone was on Lollipop Android version and while fast charging it completed the charge cycle in approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes but now recently after updating it is taking extra 20 - 30 minutes more to charge completely (and that too if I replug the cable after 98% else it remains there). The fast charging option is even enabled in settings.
Is any one experiencing the same issues? I am worried if both of the issues affect battery life and I look forward to your suggestions and comments that might prove helpful.
i put my s8 on the samsung fast wireless charger and it connects for a sec and then just disconnet and it keep doing so as long as the phone on the charger but it wont charge
i tried flashing my original ILO ROM back but it didnt fix the problem
before i flashed the Netherlands rom i had diffrent charging problems like sometimes the phone stopped charging at 80-81%
i place the phone on the wireless charger for the night and when i wakeup few hours later its still not 100%
the charging on s8 feels slower then on my previous s7 edge which dosent make sense cus 3000mah vs 3600mah!
did i get a faulty device ?

it appears the problem is with the charger since i tried a friends wireless charger and it charged fine
Hello!
Whenever I charge my S7 Edge using a fast charger or a high ampere charger (2.4A), my S7 Edge just freezes and then reboots. Every time!
When I use a low ampere charger or charge it using my laptop it charges to 100% without any worries but obviously takes a looong time.
Could this be a hardware problem? I installed Resurrection Remix and tried to charge it but the problem persisted.
What could be the solution to this dilemma?
