Unfortunately since tmobile limited fastboot functionality, you're stuck with a brick unless you can get it replaced under warranty.

Thanks for your time sir
If you have access to stock recovery you can flash an official update.zip EVEN if you are on 10u, you can flash the 10u update.zip to get download mode back.
I don't have that zip, but I know it is around here somewhere -- you will have to search.
If you can't find it, I am sure T-Mobile will be pushing out 10v pretty soon. If you take the OTA, that will also restore download mode.

Sent from my LG-H910 using XDA Labs
I interpreted his reply as: "He tried a factory reset and was still unable to get to download mode".
Even though he said he was rooted, I think what he meant to say was that he was TRYING to root. It is not impossible to root your phone without installing TWRP, but someone that is capable of doing so wouldn't be asking how to get download mode back.
However, with that said, if download mode AND stock recovery are gone, you are correct, he has a brick.

if I remember correctly that means your recovery did not flash correctly so I recommend using either flashify or freegee from playstore and retrying
It is actually the stock recovery. Try again flashing TWRP or CWM

Thanks a lot! I followed that guide, and afterwards I was no longer even able to get into recovery/download mode....so I though I was even worse trouble....since one the the instructions was to erase the LAF file and flash it again with a downloaded LAF image, I decided to go to the link with all the files you provided and flash each of them....rebooted, and the phone was able to get into recovery mode again...Then I pushed the file for my phone ( http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/VS980/Stock_Firmware) using Uptest (R&D Tool), rebooted and the phone worked.

So, I'm curious about it, and flash twrp myself just awhile ago...
And got bootloop, really... wait, seriously?
I'm like
How did the other day I'm able to survive this? It boot normally,
After 1st successful boot, flashing root, (I don't remember but just say I'm booting twrp this time), xposed, aware that root lost after reboot, I did my backup here,
Then deciding to start from scratch, installing official Asus, boot normally, flash twrp, rooting, rebooting few times and somehow root intact, install xposed, root lost...
Restart again, install Asus official (I'm not restoring my backup, really, the only thing I know how to install stock is by stock recovery itself) , boot twrp, install root by system, reboot, root intact, xposed, root intact, surfing net, registering xda yesterday, just now replying to your thread, then you can read from above again...
Just few minutes ago, restore recovery from backup (still bootloop though), installing Asus again, and make this reply...
Sorry can't help you, even I'm confused right now

Sorry, which part?
If about how I got my recovery back then, I don't really understand, let's assume I have my backup that time. now I have my backup, for real.
From what I understand, invalid boot mean either you got broken boot images or locked bootloader, so which one is familiar to you?
Anyway, you can try to flash back stock boot (grab from asus zip) and stock recovery (if you have them, or find on this forum?).
I don't know if locked bootloader can flash boot/recovery, never tried it myself. So, good luck!

Did that and still reboots into TWRP. I tried reflashing my ROM and when it finished installing it tried to unmount system and it said failed; no such volume. Could that be the issue?
Only way I fixed this for me was to restore to stock using kdz. I was able to hold volume up with the battery out, plug it in. Kdz ran from there

Have to use Uppercut. LGUp won't work because the model of the kdz won't match the dev bootloader from Dirty Santa I think. There's a few restore threads you should be able to get the link from there

it's very easy, and you have to go out there to find a kdz file for your phone.

If you got Oreo working, but this is on treble (Lineage, RR, etc), it's because TWRP doesn't work with those yet.
You should be able to just flash back stock recovery, by extracting update.app from update.zip. Then download and open Huawei Update Extractor, go to settings and disable header crc, then open update.app in it.
Rightclick on recovery_ramdisk and extract selected, then flash it to 'recovery_ramdisk' from fastboot.

Also, when flashing a treble firmware you need to factory reset from Recovery. So if you get it past the error, but still bootloop, boot to stock recovery and do a factory reset. Same when you want to go back to Emui, flash stock system, factory reset from stock recovery.
Hi guys i am in terrible need of some guidance and help. i cant find a boot.img for the h918
I installed TWRP, and successfully rooted with magisk, but upon updating magisk through the app installed with magisk, now my phone is stuck on the fastboot. 'fastboot reboot' command just restarts it, and its right back to fastboot. i cant get out of it no matter what i do. i can reach the TWRP screen by pressing vol up + insert usb, but i cant install a previous magisk version because i get error 1. i dont know how to reach the download mode to flash a stock kdz, because when i try reaching it it goes back to TWRP menu. I have tried flashing the magisk uninstaller.zip but i cant flash it because it gives me error 1. My only option is flashing a stock boot.img for H91810P.
I actually managed to root successfully, and everything was working fine, until i updated the magisk from v16.0 to v18.0 through the app in the phone, then stuck at boot. I can still access TWRP menu, but not the download mode (i dont know how, with TWRP installed).
i dont know what to do this is my only phone and i work with my phone.
MAIN PROBLEMS:
Relentlessly Stuck at fastboot after installing magisk with TWRP then stupidly upgrading Magisk through the magisk app.
Please Help , I would owe you my life.
Why don't you have a TWRP backup?
Anyway, you can download any H918 ROM zip, extract it, and it will have a boot image.

Just look in the ROMs section and pick any ROM for the H918. If you were on Oreo, be sure to download an Oreo based stock ROM .. if Nougat, then grab a Nougat ROM.

Hey Brain i actually don't know how to proceed even with the boot image what should i do next in my current situation?
If you have the boot.img file, copy it to the storage (internal or external aka microSD), then use TWRP to flash it - you'll have to tap the Image file button to make TWRP load .img files instead of the traditional .zip ones after which you should be able to select the boot.img file and then you select the partition to flash it to. Obviously take your time and GO SLOW during this and make sure you're selecting the right items. If you make a booboo and flash the boot.img to any of the other partitions you're gonna brick the device and have a hard time getting it functional again more than likely.
This is flashed direct install in magisk right?
