VS995 boot loop into TWRP - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I followed the root instructions to the letter and now I'm stuck in a boot loop that continually just goes into TWRP. I've down the format data/reflash SuperSU more than once and it doesn't help. Any ideas?

Did that and still reboots into TWRP. I tried reflashing my ROM and when it finished installing it tried to unmount system and it said failed; no such volume. Could that be the issue?

Only way I fixed this for me was to restore to stock using kdz. I was able to hold volume up with the battery out, plug it in. Kdz ran from there

That's what I was afraid of. Which program did you use to flash the KDZ file? I tried LGUP but I just get errors.

Have to use Uppercut. LGUp won't work because the model of the kdz won't match the dev bootloader from Dirty Santa I think. There's a few restore threads you should be able to get the link from there

it's very easy, and you have to go out there to find a kdz file for your phone.
if your windows defender is working, disable it.

I've tried that. I did the commands and reboot and nothing.
Okay guys so this is what is happening.
I have twrp 2.6.3,2
I am in a bootloop. I keep going to the recovery
I have ADB running and can push any zip files to it
I have tried pushing a version of paranoid to it.
Upon trying to flash i get this error:
error excuting updater binary in zip '/sdcard/pa.zip'
error flashing zip '/sdcard/pa.zip
So something is wrong with the binary?

Bootloop Help After Trying To Root 7.1.1

So I flashed the 7.1.1 update and everything was fine. I then tried to root through TWRP with the most recent version of recovery and and SuperSu and when I went to reboot it would get to the "Google" splash screen and go back to the warning. I then tried to restore to my Nandroid that I made right before the 7.1.1 flash but it does the same thing. I ended up doing a factory reset, still looping. I tried flashing an old firmware but it still would loop. I got desperate and did a full wipe and then flashed the old firmware from September's update but it still will not boot. I'm a long time lurker I just don't post much. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Have you tried installing custom ROM, instead of a stock one?
And tell us what @ArminasAnarion asked for. There may be a pattern here. :good:
I haven't tried a custom ROM. I'll try that if I get any down time at work. Also, I'll check for you @ArminasAnarion in a bit.
Might be a noob question, but how do I get the custom rom files over to my phone to flash in recovery?

Well if you cant access twrp then your not flashing anything; did you try downloading the latest Nexus 6p factory image and using adb to flash it?? If you need help with that I can lay it out for you. Also there was an efs partition issue with twrp 3.0.2-1 and down so make sure your twrp is 3.0.2-2!

Make sure your using twrp 3.0.2-2; and download the latest factory image for the Nexus 6p (NBD90X) and use adb (fastboot) to flash that whole thing. Extract the files to your android sdk platform tools folder then run the flash-all.bat file. (If you are using a 64gb or 128gb device DONT DO THIS) Only do this with the 32gb model. If its a 64 or 128 model go here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206928 and go to sub section 10. Have you tried WugFresh's Nexus Root Toolkit? Not sure if it will work for your situation, but it has an option to restore to factory settings and unroot if you're soft-bricked or bootlooped. Might be worth a shot if everything else isn't working.
FWIW, I successfully updated to 7.1.1 NPF10C and rooted by using fastboot to flash bootloader, radio, boot, system, and vendor. Then used TWRP 3.0.2-2 to flash SuperSU 2.78 SR1. No issues.

LG G6 H870 can't go back to stock rom help

Hello,
Recently i installed flumics rom on my phone and everything was fine but today i wanted to go back to stock rom and it seems i can't.
I installed the latest lg usb drivers and downloaded the latest lgup with uppercut
When i try to install the kdz file from the lgup everything is working fine and it finished 100% then the phone reboots and stucks at lg logo then after a while it reboots again and same thing stucks again.
ALso when i try to flash the kdz file again in the lgup it shows Fulmics rom 1.6
Tried to do a factory reset from lg recovery as well didn't help
Don't know how to turn off the device fully so i have some battery left.
Anyone can help me with this? do i need to send it back to lg?

Sadly the kdz files i flashed restored the stock recovery.
Also i tried the lg bridge as well but that didn't work either.
I have left the phone doing its thing for more than 45 mins, i guess that is not normal.
Use LGUP and Uppercut to flash stock. Need drivers and put phone in download mode. It will find the port and then flash the firmware.

I downloaded 3 different kdz files for h870 and none of them worked.
The strange thing is why after i flash the kdzs the lgup shows Fulmics Rom v1.6 under the version category.
Is there any way to flash recovery via download mode?
Enter bootloader and try to flash twrp again. Then flash the stock rom and all will be fine.

How did you do it? Im in the same boat but I havent made any backup files
I've hit upon the same problem too, would love to know the workaround

Need V20 H918-10P boot.img

Hi guys i am in terrible need of some guidance and help. i cant find a boot.img for the h918
I installed TWRP, and successfully rooted with magisk, but upon updating magisk through the app installed with magisk, now my phone is stuck on the fastboot. 'fastboot reboot' command just restarts it, and its right back to fastboot. i cant get out of it no matter what i do. i can reach the TWRP screen by pressing vol up + insert usb, but i cant install a previous magisk version because i get error 1. i dont know how to reach the download mode to flash a stock kdz, because when i try reaching it it goes back to TWRP menu. I have tried flashing the magisk uninstaller.zip but i cant flash it because it gives me error 1. My only option is flashing a stock boot.img for H91810P.
I actually managed to root successfully, and everything was working fine, until i updated the magisk from v16.0 to v18.0 through the app in the phone, then stuck at boot. I can still access TWRP menu, but not the download mode (i dont know how, with TWRP installed).
i dont know what to do this is my only phone and i work with my phone.
MAIN PROBLEMS:
Relentlessly Stuck at fastboot after installing magisk with TWRP then stupidly upgrading Magisk through the magisk app.
Please Help , I would owe you my life.
Why don't you have a TWRP backup?
Anyway, you can download any H918 ROM zip, extract it, and it will have a boot image.

Just look in the ROMs section and pick any ROM for the H918. If you were on Oreo, be sure to download an Oreo based stock ROM .. if Nougat, then grab a Nougat ROM.

Hey Brain i actually don't know how to proceed even with the boot image what should i do next in my current situation?
If you have the boot.img file, copy it to the storage (internal or external aka microSD), then use TWRP to flash it - you'll have to tap the Image file button to make TWRP load .img files instead of the traditional .zip ones after which you should be able to select the boot.img file and then you select the partition to flash it to. Obviously take your time and GO SLOW during this and make sure you're selecting the right items. If you make a booboo and flash the boot.img to any of the other partitions you're gonna brick the device and have a hard time getting it functional again more than likely.

How do you return Phone COMPLETELY to stock?

I have my H910 Variant Of the LG V20, but it is running a Rooted Oreo Stock with twrp and the booting takes a couple of minutes due to a glitched startup. Does anyone know how to return it to normal Nougat Stock with none of that on it?

It is the bootloader logo or the bootanimation? If its the former, flash a US996/H915 KDZ, redo dirtySanta and try again, you might've had a bad flash. If its the latter, use the key combo to factory reset.

LGUP dumps are fastboot flashable images, use package_extract_file in the update script to flash each individual partitions. Alternatively, use DD to flash every partitions aside from aboot, reboot to fastboot and flash aboot from there.

Take the flashable you downloaded, open it up. There's an updater script in there telling TWRP how to flash the file. Copy the syntax and modify it to your own dumps, then finally zip it up.
