Settings file is deleted?

Hello! I rooted my S4 today and installed the CWM recovery and flashed my new rom which is the Foxhound 2.0 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2303239. I have had my older device rooted and i have flashed couple roms with it (huawei ideos x5) and i didn't want to lose all my files and apps from my S4 while flashing this rom, so i didn't do the factory reset thing. I wiped my cache and dalvik cache and then i flashed my rom. As soon as i got it working i was hyped and so on but i noticed that the Settings app was missing. I looked via root explorer and it wasn't in the folder /system/app/. I looked from the magical internet and didn't find anything. Nothing at all. I tried installing some setting.apk's but none of them worked. I downloaded the stock android 4.2.2 rom and copied the settings.apk from there but no, it didn't do anything. I tried also installing those setting apk's but it says 'app not installed'. I had my backup of the android 4.2.2 in my phone but when i tried to restore it to my phone, it said something about m5 sum thing or what it was i don't remember. If you have any clue, please help. I'm lost and i need guidance.
Sorry if there is some bad English, i'm from Finland.
In cwm restore settings, uncheck the check md5 sum. It should then let you restore the nandroid
I messed it up

Download Odin ver 3.07. Download firmware for your device from sammobile.com. It'll be a zip file. Use 7-zip to extract the .tar.md5 file from it. Use that file in Odin, PDA slot. Only have auto-reboot checked in odin.

It looks like firmware ending in mga is what you need. Sammobile doesn't have firmware for Finland so I'd look for another counties which has the last three characters as mga.

You're not going to be able to back up your apps if you can't boot into your phone. They will be gone when you flash the stock firmware.

Camera Failed after Marshmallow Update

Hi,
I have a non rooted Sprint Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900P) that is getting camera failed warning after updated to android marshmallow (version 6.0.1). I have tried clearing the cache of the app and of the system as well as a factory reset. It worked right before the update. Does anyone know of a way to fix it?
Thanks

I don't know for sure. I contacted samsung about it and they said they have not received reports of this. The camera worked prior to the update, so my guess is the update corrupted the camera firmware.

Alright thanks, I will try that this weekend when I get time to work on it.
PLEASE HELP !!!
in all 6.0.1 rom's (official samsung and custom rom's alike) i get a 'camera faild' message followed by an app force close.
It's the same in all roms (tried a few different vertions and countries), and different camera app's.
clean install, factory reset, cleaning cache and data, all resolt in the same camera FC...
in lollipop everyting runs great.
ANY IDEA WHAT TO DO ?
It has nothing to do with country software. This problem developed for me randomly. I had to relax MM completely and reapply root. I was messing with an app that controlled permission settings and screwed something up.

Stock roms don't come in zip files, which means you have to flash it through a computer I recommend looking up your CSC code on samsung-updates.com and using the utility SamFirm to do the downloading. Search for it on XDA.

I just downgraded back to Oreo from DRL5 Pie build last night. I Odin back to CRK1. From here you can stay or update to latest Oreo build. After I flashed CRK1, I did have to go into recovery and wipe data/factory reset. It will just remove everything from your phone to factory defaults. Make sure you remember your google login details or you could get locked out of your phone. And back up your photos and stuff. I'm on sprint s8+.

Install pixel experience for redmi note 7 lavender

Solving the problem with OTA update and installing pixel experience firmware on redmi note 7 Somehow I wanted to install this firmware myself. I downloaded it from the official site for my model, installed twrp, start flashing it and get an error. I googled the problem, it turned out to be necessary to delete the lines in the updater-script file up to the lines that begin with ui_print ... I deleted them, and the firmware was installed as native. Then the April update came, I click install, and it just reboots into twrp and that's it, I googled the problem, I need to install the stock recovery, it didn't help (. I tried to install the update manually, but I got the same error as when installing the firmware on clean. there are those lines in the update file. And in order to install this update, they need to be deleted. And in the conditions of twrp, this, as I understand it, is not possible. On the forums, people write that they have the firmware installed without removing these lines. And it is automatically installed in twrp Help ...

Not firmware the right name is for pixel experience ROM and the firmware from the link above.
So first from the link above, maybe the right for you or the last chinese and then the ROM from experience. Rom is different then firmware. Thanks translator
Firmware vs software: What's the difference?
The differences between firmware vs software aren't immediately obvious, but there are some important distinctions worth knowing.
