Hi folks,
It seems that a dev from the Oneplus forum, PMehra, managed to get OOS 3.1.0 working on our beloved OPO
He also made a OPX H2OS v2 port, though the official one is out.
Actually there are two OOS 3 ports that was made by two different dev (the other one is on Oneplus chinese forum) at the same time (almost) !
These are ports from the OPX 3.1.0 update dated of 08/18.
I've only tested the PMehra OOS 3 port.
What's working :
Almost everything is working, including NFC
Known bugs :
Mobile network take little bit more time (actually, it's insignificant), switch flight mode on & off after boot. Expected to improve in next update.
Longpress actions doesn't work on any button. Expected to be fixed in next update.
When the software buttons are turned on, the hardware buttons stay active and can also be used. So stay with HW buttons for now.
You can't change priority/no notifications due to there being no alert slider.
Download app fc
Storage->explore->doesnt do anything
Storage->other-> settings fcs
Changelogs :
Soon
How to flash :
Reboot to recovery
Make a nandroid backup
Wipe cache/dalvik/data/system partitions
Flash the zip
Reboot and enjoy !
If you want to install another rom after this one, you have to flash a marshmallow modem from this thread before, or you'll be stuck at boot logo.
Gapps are included into the rom.
Downloads :
Mega folder with full rom and OTA.
Full rom on Google drive.
Don't worry if winrar say that the .zip is corrupt, it work anyway.
Root :
Flash these two .zip in this order :
Magisk V6
Magisk Super Su 2.76
Custom Kernels :
You can use a H2OS or OPX kernel on this rom, though no OPX kernel has been updated to OOS 3 yet because Oneplus didn't release any sources, as the original update isn't official, but just a community build.
Quick review :
Use it for few hours now, and everything work well, it's smooth like butter
The camera app is the stock OOSone, and it don't support 4K recording, but the manual mode work well, and the "HQ" mode delivers nice shots.
Battery is good : about 4-5 hours SOT on average.
There is no slow charging issue.
Here a video of the installation and quick review of the rom thanks to @acervenky :

Well a lot of you might accuse me of living in a cave but will still go ahead and ask my question
Apart from the camera quality what are the other benefits of using this ROM over say a cm or other stock roms? I am currently on hydrogen ROM purely for the sake of trying a new look.

Hardware buttons buggy
There's a few bugs with the hardware buttons that I've come across. Firstly being that no long press/double tap gestures work, and secondly when the software buttons are turned on the hardware buttons stay active and can also be used. While they're only minor bugs, they can be a bit annoying to deal with
---------- Post added at 01:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:17 PM ----------
Also, another bug is that you can't change priority/no notifications due to there being no alert slider. Will edit this post if I find any other bugs.

Thanks for bug report, will ad it in OP
Hi, which firmware should I flash to install cyanogenmod 13 or 14? Thanks in advance
Have you tried a different camera app than the stock one to try record 4k? For example: Bacon Camera, ColorOS Camera.
This is a more comprehensive list of bugs encountered in the current main Android 7.x AOSP ROMs.
Since i know most ROM devs don't edit their OPs when a new bug/broken feature is discovered, this thread aims to be a more comprehensive list of bugs, that will be fueled by the community.
If you find a bug that is currently not on the list, do not hesitate to post a reply stating your discoveries. I'll be checking in regularly to update the OP with your findings.
Be advised, this topic is not aimed at solving these bugs, but more of reporting said bugs, and making Users' & Devs' lives easier. (Or at least trying to )
So here is the list of bugs/broken features :
LineageOS 14.1 (7.1.2) by OpenKirin
Data Tethering
Dual-lens camera support
Shaky video recording (workaround available)
Slow 60fps YouTube videos (debatable)
Snapchat not working
Occasionnal soft reboots
Other minor annoyances
Resurrection Remix OS v5.8.3 (7.1.2) by OpenKirin
Dual-lens camera support
Shaky video recording (workaround available)
Slow 60fps YouTube videos (debatable)
Stock Messaging app closes all other apps (use another app)
Occasionnal soft reboots
Other minor annoyances
Android AOSPA (7.1.2) by OpenKirin
Data Tethering
No APN customizability
VoLTE Support (debatable)
Dual-lens camera support
Shaky video recording (workaround available)
Mobile Networks settings page crash (Indian users only)
Slow 60fps YouTube videos (debatable)
Occasionnal soft reboots
Other minor annoyances
Feel free to reply to the thread if you find any other bugs !
Happy flashing and bug hunting !
I would add laggy 60fps videos on YouTube to that list
In AOSPA volte feature is not working tested twice
Need volte support in every custom ROM. Till then I'll stick with stock. Without calling feature i can't use it. So are many other who have volte calls.
Okay, adding VoLTE to the list. AOSPA is confirmed, but what about other ROMs ?

strike volte from the list!
It is a vendor feature which requires additional modifications, those we cannot implement.
Thats why almost no custom rom implements this feature. It has been available on AOSPA because they are working closely together with the OnePlus Team and their devices. No way huawei would do the same - so please forget about volte on custom roms and stick to emui if you need it. @surdu_petru will disable it in the next update
And, to say that again, this is no development thread, reported and will be moved to another section soon.
This is in no way meant to be rude

Well thats in aospa which i tested for two days ! As surdu said its with the b320(L02) firmware which is ahead of b360 on L04 . Still the force close will be for all Indians (L02 users) and can be said it will be an issue of a country instead of just a model . Hope this will provide some base point to add this issue into the section .
--Regards--
Just updated the list with all current bugs. I noted "(debatable)" for everything that either wasn't confirmed by two users, or that i didn't encounter myself.

One more thing in RR, when replying to an SMS using the stock Messaging in the notifications, it closes any foreground app. For example I'm browsing Facebook, someone texts me and I reply to them through the notification, Facebook closes.

That's understandable but think about it. Developers of the plethora of available ROMs will amd want to include it if it's not that hard to implement.
This thread is made for Oreo ROM discussion, in development threads, there should be only discussions about a specific bugs and issues, any OT should go here, I thought there should be a common discussion thread for suggestions, theming, substratum, dolby, viper, custom kernels mods and your home screens etc, as if you use any modified stuffs on rom, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO REPORT BUGS AT ROM DEVELOPMENT thread, thats why this common discussion thread is here.
Currently, all Oreo ROM has following issues:
>SElinux is permissive, means SElinux wont be at Enforcing state
>HDR works with only OpenCamera/A Better Camera, with stock cameras, HDR doesnt work If any maintainer didnt implement HDR fix yet, try the zip from attachments
What is SElinux and what means SElinux is permissive?
A: https://source.android.com/security/selinux here is your answer
List of currently developed OREO roms?
A: @sapo_joe has made a thread for it, go here and if you find any rom missing request him there to add https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/list-currently-developed-roms-titan-t3736067
Developers who are behind to bringup oreo to our titan:
1: @LuK1337 , he is lit, all of our works based on his codes
2: @RenanQueiroz , is the guy who fixed issues which were on Luk's los builds, and brought stable tree to us for building roms, currently all roms are based on his trees
So, feel free to discuss about anything here from now, that can be OT, unofficial builds, build issues and anything that doesnt violate XDA rules, cheers

Am I the only one that has issues with apps freezing and force closing in every single Oreo ROM? Happens most frequently to me with browsers and reddit clients. Everyone's all happy with Oreo and the abundance of ROMs but no one talks about this problem. Also before anyone mentions that's its a problem with my device, it's not because I don't get these issues on Nougat.

Wow! (Check the SELinux status).
For me, LineageOS 15.1 [TITAN] by Renan looks like the best Oreo ROM to install as soon as SELinux issue is resolved, because the codebase is mature, it is supported on a regular basis AND there is official Root addon.
Have anyone tried to root LOS 15.1 with the official Root addon? How is the performance after rooting with the official Root addon, are there any lags or freezes introduced by rooting?

Happens to be regardless if I'm rooted or not and with every single Oreo ROM I've tried so far. Almost a dealbreaker for me tbh. Nougat rarely ever gave me such issues.

Hmm I'd like to have this clarified. AFAIK, the SELinux state is not persistent across reboots—that is, as soon as a device is rebooted, SELinux state reverts to the state the kernel was built with—in our case it's the permissive state.
If SELinux is permissive at boot, the SIM cards are detected normally, right?
What happens if we set SELinux to enforcing AFTER boot (with root it should be simple, we only need to execute "su -c setenforce 1" in any terminal emulator)?
First, do the SIM cards get undetected as soon as SELinux state is switched?
Second, if we set SELinux to enforcing and then switch to the Flight Mode and back without rebooting the device, will SIM cards be re-detected as soon as the Flight Mode is disabled?

Thats not happening, with enforcing boot, Renan didnt get RIL working, and so many things are broken, so most probably, we are staying with permissive SElinux, but however, HDR is still major concern, to Renan, to all of us

I changed to the latest Pixel Experience build for the moment. I once flashed that ROM before and I was missing some features but the battery consumption was just awesome. So I gave it a second try and found two substratum apps called K-Klock and /subtweaks/ that had some of the things I was missing.
When I was on AEX.5.6 I used it alongside with Evolution_oreo_titan_20180603 kernel, the performance was really good but the battery consumption was high as we know it from AEX. I have to say that PE provides a really great RAM managment and the best battery usage I found until now.
Next on my list is bootleggers ROM, heard good things about it.
edit: Just read about the new build of Evolution kernel. Will try it with PE.

Root works perfectly fine with Magisk.
Bug(s) encountered:
- Webview-related apps (e.g. Chrome, IDM+, etc.) force close when EdXposed is installed/active.
- Home and recent apps gestures don't work on third party launchers such as Nova.
It's actually working smoothly as far I tested it BUT I switched back to Android 10 because the root partition /system /sys etc etc cannot be mounted as r/w and this EVEN in recovery (???)
That's a pretty mess for now as I love change my boot animation and splash screen or even access to second space's files from main user

EdXposed perfectly works too, but only on Android 10-based MIUI.
light animation trims.
When the screen is locked, it flashes twice. Little bug
On both latest stable and weekly:
I have had a flickering screen while on the lockscreen, where it doesn't catch the fingerprint and the screen just keeps on going on and off rapidly.
This happened to me more than once.
Also the fullscreen gestures do not work on third party launchers.
Android 10 just feels more solid and I feel (I understand that this is subjective) that Android 10 MIUI12 is just slightly more snappy.

The SafetyNet Check failed due to a cts profile mismatch for me. I had to force basic attestation with MagiskHide Props Config for it to pass. How would you pass it without doing that, seeing that you didn't.

I didn't do anything aside from enabling MagiskHide in Magisk. If it still doesn't work, try to clear Google Play Services and Google Services Framework's data and reboot.
Repeat the process until it passes Safetynet. Do note that EdXposed breaks Safetynet so you have to enable App List Mode and Pass Safetynet in Settings.
Viper and Dolby both work separately but not together even with AML and ACP modules. I might be doing something wrong. What I tried is the same steps from android 10 and they do work on that. Anyone had any success?
Didn't realize this thread existed and made another post about it recently
Other than that most things have been stable for me except a few 3rd party apps not working and I didn't test battery life enough yet. I feel like sot could be worse but performance is definitely smoother than Android 10 though
Anyone got android 11 notifications bubbles working?
Bugs:
-Safetynet failed (root with magisk ok)
- cannot install more apps, used 25/256gb
- cannot charge background - break always
- camera- break sometimes
Everything works fine, excepted viper on last xiaomi.eu weekly.
Hello,
This is probably my first post in xda. I have been using xda since around 2015 with my first device mi4i. Over the years as a dream to use a flagship level phone i ended up buying s20+ but kind of regret the decision due to lack of active support of custom roms.
Coming to the point. I recently ended up installing GSI rom on s20+ Exynos variant. I did search a lot no direct guide was available hence i am posting my steps to do the same. Let me know of any mistakes.
I tested this with DUJ5 Firmware. So i prefer you flash it if in beta or anything below that.
1)BootLoader Unlock
2)Flash TWRP - any TWRP will do not the lineage/dotos/pixelexperiece recovery. The unoffocial TWRP for s20 will be enough. Ill attatch the one I have with me here. Thanks to twrp-z3s-3.5.2_ianmacd+vbmeta-patched_DUH2. even tjough its DUH2 itll work.
3)Extract the gsi .xz file and copy the image file to the external_sd.
4)As the s20 is using a super partition, direct flash did not work for me. We will need to use the Super GSI installer. Download the attatched super gsi installer and move it to the same location as the gsi image.
5)The script looks its cwd for system.img file to flash, so rename the copied -arm64-ab.img to system.img.
6)Once everything is ready, reboot to the recovery, factory format data, clear everything as required, then flash this Super-GSI-Installer.zip file from the twrp.
7)Voila.. you can reboot once it shows the process completed to your new rom.
Notes;
I havent faced any performance issue in a daily driver use. However, the phone tends to heat up a bit when gaming and charging, compared to the custom lineage or similar tweaked roms for s20.
For camera you can use GCAM by BSG which i have tested and works as it does in the stock rom.
For the usb-c headphone, you can enable the tweaks from setting by phhusson
Let me know how it goes.
For GSI updates follow : {Mod edit}
Thanks to @phhusson for the GSI project and @ianmacd for the twrp. @ponces for earlybird pixelexperience implementation
If you use the phhusons aosp rom, you may face some issue with the twrp after the installation, when i tried to enter the recovery after the installation adn testing, i faced the recovery literally flashing on my display. with pixel experience i did not face that issue, maybe its my error.

Bugs with GSI A11/12
1)I personally is having trouble finding the auto brightness feature, the devs have enabled it in the rom but i havent cracked that one.
2)Proximity Sensor during call/ Accidental touch / Pocket detection seems to be missing.
3)Volte/Vowifi
4)and some other bugs but nothing i care except for these in day to day usage.
P.S. If anyone can suggest me any fixes for these it would be great.
PM me if any clarifications needed

dont think itll work outside of samsung firmware
I don't know about GSI but we hard coded 120hz on lineage 17
[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][S20,S20U][120hz] - LineageOS 17.1
I've been having issues with the fingerprint reader and the camera not opening from some apps. Everything else that I've tested has been working fine. Can you please confirm that I followed the process correctly before I dig too much deeper...

That's right. I was also using the GSI on my S20 Plus Exynos. And when using Force FPS to 1080p/120Hz, it just crops the display. So I have to forcefully use 1440p at 60 Hz, which is a big NO! for me. I switched back to stock soon after as there were no official AOSP builds available for S20 plus series. There was one Lineage 19.1 (A12) but it has been discontinued. Now Android 14 is gonna come out and getting a Samsung phone just feels like a regret. Tried my best to fix the FPS issue but didn't get it fixed (even when personally helped by @phhusson (He tried his best, but I gave up soon after as I couldn't understand anything). Damn, Samsung is like the "Apple of Android" because they basically restrict everything.
