Hi team,
I have wifi tehetering on and the bluetooth paired (car or handsfree). If I try to call or i receive It, the bluetooth and wifi tether disconnect and after the call, the networks go alive.
I have a Nokia 6 ta-1003. Any help?
Thanks in advance
I guess both radios, Wifi and BT, were operating in the same the 2.4GHz band and were overlapping with some LTE band. Try changing Hotspot band to 5Ghz and see if it helps. You cannot change BT band though.
I guess LTE bands 40,41 can clash with 2.4Ghz Wifi/BT

Thanks, changed wifi tethering to 5ghz works, but my car only support 2,4 ghz
My last phone (Samsung A5) works nice with 2,4ghz wifi tethering and BT. IS It only a Nokia 6 issue?
I'm not sure it's Nokia 6 specific issue. Probably your A5 did not support LTE bands which clash with Wifi/BT at 2.4 GHz.
You can also try disabling 4G/LTE and force 3G only on your Nokia and see if Wifi/BT disconnect during calls.

I have the same problem which started after the phone got updated to 8.1
With 8.0 it was working fine. I contacted Nokia support but they were far from technical and offered some trivial changes in the settings which didn't help. They were not even authorized to register it as a bug.
I'm afraid that unless the phone receives another software update, we're stuck with this.
Alex.
Thanks a los for your reply.
Do hoy think that we could fix It changing LTE band channel?

Does the Nexus 4 have all the wifi bands... 802.11abgn or just the 802.11bgn?
I couldnt find an answer to this.
Hopefully someone who hasbhe device and also uses the a-band can chime in...

Thanks mate.
It comes to me as a surprise because Google doesn't list 802.11a support for the Nexus 4 on the Play store specs.
Is 802.11a not officially supported by android? I ask because even in my Galaxy Nexus (and this is just couple a days ago with full wipe and installing 4.2.1 from the stock rom via adb), i initially tried to connect via my 5Ghz network but it just wouldn't connect for the life of me. 2.4Ghz worked like a champ.
EDIT: I should note that the problem with the 5Ghz band is only upon initial starts. If I disable and re-enable wife, 5Ghz works just fine, but I simply don't get why it fails on the first try.

802.11n also uses the 5Ghz band, or do you honestly mean 802.11a, that most ancient of wireless standards?

yes 802.11n "can" potentially use the 5Ghz "a" band if the 5Ghz "a" band is supported.
802.11n standard was designed to implement speed rates upto 450mbps (depending on the number of channels being bonded)
802.11n doesn't simply imply that it can use the 5ghz and 2.4ghz bands. it has to state that its 802.11abgn for me to be able to do "n"-speeds over 2.4ghz or 5ghz
google play store's specs show 802.11bgn which implies its only 2.4ghz.
if its 802.11abgn, then it works for me because i use the 5ghz exclusively to avoid the noise of all the 2.4ghz channels around me and theres a ton of them
Hi all,
Is anyone having problems connecting to 5ghz bands on their N4?
I reconnected a simultaneous dual-band router that I used while my N4 was on KitKat. It would connect on the 5ghz band without issues, and I could view the 5ghz bands on inSSIDer. I installed the Lollipop factory image and now I cannot view or connect to my router over 5ghz, only 2.4ghz. Setting a different SSID, changing channels and widths does not help.

I'm having the same issue. It doesn't detect any 5 ghz wifi even if I set it to 5 ghz wifi only. I've flashed the factory image a second time thinking that might fix it but it doesn't.
I'm at work now where we have multiple 5ghz networks, and I can't see any of them. Any ideas on what I can do about this? Report a bug somewhere?
I have the the same problem. I've tried high number and low number channels on my Nighthawk using factory firmware default settings.
I solved the issue by reverting to kitkat 4.4.4. I think Google still has some work to do on 5.0.
i've the same problem.... i also thought to revert to KK but dont have the time for it....
i just wish google will fix the 5GHz issue and i wish for black theme (hate this bright white)

i think, the SSID name is the problem?! i'm at work and we have also multiple 5ghz SSIDs. SSIDs without any special character will be shown.
but i have one more problem with wifi. sometimes the phone can't reactivate the wifi module after i used bluetooth in the car. only restart helps
Yeah, I've been having the same issue since upgrading to lollipop.
I remember those issues with one of the older versions of android, but on 4.4.4 all was fine, I could see the networks and connect to them.
Now I no longer see any of the 5Ghz networks.

My nexus 4 (with Lollipop) behaves a bit differently. It does see 5GHz networks when set to 5GHz only, but doesn't see them in automatic mode.
Hi Guys,
I Bought 3weeks ago A galaxy s6 Edge plus(SM-928C) Its on Official Samsung Android(6.0.1) and not rooted.
*(Wifi And simcard is ON And Airplane Mode switch off)
When I switch wifi router ON channel 12 or 13 everything Is normal and my wifi device is normaly work
But when I switch Wifi Off/On,wifi not connected to router and Wifi Freezing on Restarting and not connected to Router.*When I switching Off router Everything Is ok and my wifi device is normally and Show Other routers
*(But I switching on airplane mode and simcard status is off)
my wifi device is connected on my router on channels over 11(12,13) And normally working when I Switch airplane mode off and simcard status is Online everything is ok and normaly work.
but I again switching wifi off/On my wifi device is freezing on rebooting.
My Region : Iran
Router Region : japan
I Waiting for your helping.
I didn't understand your post fully, but what I do know is Channel 12 and 13 are crap.
12/13/14 are designed for 802.11b if I'm not wrong and only used in Japan.
Use Channel 1, 6 or 11 for better performance, and if you can set your device region to Iran instead of Japan.
Differences in transmit power, and frequency could land you in trouble.

You can only change from 2.4 to 5GHz if your router supports the 5GHz band.

WiFi is very unstable when you aren't next to the access point. It keeps switching from WiFi to data connection.
Furthermore, when gripping the phone from the upside without a cover (near the camera), the WiFi connection will not work anymore.
Someone is experiencing this problem?
same to me
WiFi works normal here... No deathgrip
Maybe you can try enabling Aggressive WLAN to Cellular handover at developer settings under the networking tab to fix your issue

Well, the problem in my case was that I have two access points with the same name at the two sides of the house, and from my room the second AP has a better signal, but it had some trouble and it wasn't working, so the phone wifi was switching from the first to the second continually.
However if you hold the phone from the upside, there is a very strong loss of signal. A workaround is to use a case.
I can say that wifi antennas of this phone are not that good, like the iPhone 7.
My previously Xiaomi phone had a better wifi signal on very distant access point.

I agree: not a solution.
I've changed ssid of 5Ghz wifi (now is different from 2.4) and wifi don't disconnect random anymore.

Yes, the same SSID on different AP / technologies makes only troubles.
Never use the same name for 2,4Ghz and 5Ghz. Unfortunately many providers have the routers that are configured this way.

I've configured my router with same ssid to use band steering (i can't post link: search "band steering avm" from a search engine)
That technology do exactly the trick: switching from frequency bands, but even disabling it Mi A1 doesn't manage WiFi correctly and don't suppose to do that!
Hi Guys
Is there a solution for unstable wifi connections.
thank you
Recently after july patch<<<(i dont know but i assume) my hotspot tethering range of my phone is greatly reduced..i tried all ways to check.
connected with phones laptops everything..
my phone hotspot tether output range is supersmall to the point i need to keep my phone side by side with my laptop to get the signal which still gets 1 bar
what can be the issue and is the wifi/hotspot module same thing?
is my hardware broken?
what can be the issue? reply asap

Try resetting the network options in settings/system
If it does not work
Try uninstaing and reinstalling the WiFi driver in windows from Device Manager.

resetted network settings and windows drivers just fine...my phone hotspot is weak lately getting 200 kbps max transfer speed on xender phone to phone so its definitely phone issue
so is this a probable hardware issue?

Could be, I don't know.
Hey there !
Let me tell you I use my 6.1 Plus with hotspot for my laptop and it's on July update. So far I didn't faced any signal problem but yeah you have to keep the phone nearby for sure.
The phone supports 2.4 & 5Ghz hotspot bands. I can't use 5 because my laptop doesn't supports the same but in 2.4Ghz it's fine for me as long I get proper range and internet speed with LTE connection.

Yes this is to be expected because 5GHz is faster but low-range. 2.4GHz is slower but offers better range.
