hello
ladies and gentlemen I hope everyone is having a good day.
I have one question and hopefully I find an answer. I bought a used Galaxy s8 SM-G950FD (8.0.0) Exynos
last night I rooted it (magisk). The issue that i am facing when I restart my phone ( after rooting my phone) I got "only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed" and the phone freezes on that screen. I solved that by flashing another ROM that I downloaded from sammobile.com.
Now my phone is working fine and I rooted it again (magisk) but what should I do I am scared to get "only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed" if I restart the phone? is there any solution for that?
( i do not want to flash a ROM every time I restart my phone lol)
I hope my question is clear ( English is not my first language).
Go-to TWRP and flash this, or any custom kernel with the RMM state fixed so it won't change on you.

BUT...
I want to go back to KitKat as i preferred it (i wont go into reasons why)
Is there a downgrade path for me, either officially or unofficially?> I dont think there is at the moment.
Thanks guys!
Yep, this forum is literally packed with instructions on how to do it, a simple search will bring up what you need
hi thanks, i thought with the new protected bootloader i didnt think it possible.
this is what i read:
Note: The G900FXXU1BNL9 Android 5.0 Lollipop update comes with a protected bootloader it is clearly emphasize that the “SE for Android Status – Enforcing” that might cause issues when you try to downgrade to the old software updates. This also applies if you are planning into rooting and installs any custom recovery and any unsigned firmware once you are on Android 5.0 Lollipop , so please be aware with that.

Yesterday I tried out AllianceROM 6.0 and a few hours ago I went back to 4.4.2 'cause I liked it better than Lollipop. Here's what I did :
1. Enter Download Mode and flash STOCK 4.4.2 KitKat firmware in Odin (I used 3.10.6) and let it start booting.
2. It won't boot, this is normal (I panicked when this happened though ).
3. Go to recovery and factory reset/wipe data your phone.
4. Now hit reboot in recovery and your phone will boot up again (YAY :sun.
5. OPTIONAL : If you've made a nandroid backup before going to 5.0 you can now flash TWRP and restore it over your STOCK 4.4.2 KitKat firmware.
Hope I helped Let me know if it works out for you!
SUCCESS!!!
All sorted.
The hardest part was finding a link to the rom. sammobile kept giving me a gateway 502 error.
im now back to kitkat, AND no THREE UK rubbish.

Hi all,
I've recently been gifted the note 3 n900 and rooted it. I also installed TWRP and CWM as well, and when i go to install a ROM, it does say successfully and then at reboot, it shows the samsung galaxy note 3 screen, after that it goes blank. I've to do a battery pull to get it back and then restore a backup. I've tried many ROMs and also did rooting again, still nothing.
I've been using the galaxy s4 i9500 for about 2 years now and that is rooted and i've been flashing roms on it all year long with no problem. I'm just not sure what's going with this.
I'm currently on 4.4.2 official stock as I can't do much. Lollipop has not yet come to my region i think.
Any help would be widely appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Same Issue here but I am even not getting a samsung logo or a custom rom logo.

Hi
I had this problem for a couple of days, I found out that I flashed a incompatible rom via Odin. Can you can go into fast boot mode and tell me what it says at the top? Mine said " Couldn't do normal boot " which means the rom I flashed was not supported for my device. I went to the Samsung website to download a rom that was compatible with my device, I flashed it via Odin and it worked.
Thanks
I Just got my error fixed. U need to flash your bootloader via odin

I found that flashing the Stock Lollipop Rom worked, just as mentioned above by the above post. Yes, just by updating the bootloader i think it works. I've done it by getting the Russian stock rom from sammobile (even though i'm not in Russia), works like a charm. Really love the new feel to the note 3 n900. Just need to find a way to get permissive kernel now and ites perfect.
Hello I am Yohan, newly registered member but an ardent follower of XDA forums and developers since the past one year. XDA has educated me in so many different things and I have enjoyed full freedom on my android devices ever since.
Now am using Samsung's SMJ500F 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and it seems almost impossible to find a working root method for this. Being a powerful device, all the bloatware is lagging down it's performance.
I have tried,
1. ODIN method (both TWRP and custom firmware), Result: Brick.
2. KingRoot (no strategy available).
3. Flashing SuperSU.zip using TWRP, failed. Result: Brick.
I can't even recall all the methods I've tried and the sites I've visited cause there is so many. I have bricked my device so many times, that the service centre guy is like "Here he comes again".
So my question is, has anyone successfully rooted Samsung Galaxy J500F 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and if so please do share it with the community, and if any developer can come up with a pre rooted SMJ500F 6.0.1 firmware, it'll be much appreciated. Hope to see your replies soon.

Which SuperSU zip did you flash using TWRP? And what error did you get?
I have a J500FN. When I tried Marshmallow 6.0.1, I installed TWRP, then latest SuperSU zip and it got rooted without problems.
Try to flash:
1. Stable: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu-stable .
2. Latest: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu .

If using kingroot then just make sure you are connected to wifi or mobile data as you need it for finding strategies. I would prefer TWRP method and then flash SuperSu.zip. It works 100% on all models. What has left me confused is what do you mean by "brick"? Are you able to access download mode after flashing twrp?
Edit:
If you are able to access download mode then flash official firmware via odin fist and then try your luck again. Hope this helps.

Did you check the roms and kernel section here? We have 2 unofficial twrp ( who cares if its official or not. It does its work. Atleast it wont brick your device) , one for lollipop and one for marshmallow. Read the respective thread and download the correct twrp for ur device.

Hii friend
I am using samsung j500f 6.0.1 and i have succesfully rooted it.i faced some problems while rooting but resolved them.
At first flash firmware to your phone from
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model
Then download the latest odin and twrp recovery from the given link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-samsung-galaxy-j500f-t3416960
Then try to flash it with odin.
Then goto recovery mode after flashing and then try to install the given supersu zip file from twrp.
Download Supersu zip from the link below
http://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/
For Marshmallow Users if you are facing bootloop after flashing supersu.zip . Flash the given file
http://mega.nz/#!zNVBhKjb!FZFKq6vaI...OHtdYY_TKt-6Qs(Thanks @jka_dark28 for link)
Download the file install it then ur done wait for few minutes to reboot and then ur rooted .
For any suggetions see the post.

Hello everyone, someone among all those present and absent could inform us of how to revert to the official OREO firmware to a G950F with TWRP and OREO custom Rom ????.
I guess the first step would be to flash a stock recovery and remove the root since it seems that the error is given first by the custom recovery and maybe also the supersu.
This problem we have many users of the S8 that, for trying or for not being satisfied with the custom rooms we want to return to the official romm.
Any advice is appreciated in advance.:fingers-crossed:
Since this topic does not have any "solver", I had no choice but to try to solve it myself and at this moment I have installed the OFFICIAL version G950FXXU4CRJ5_G950FOXM4CRJ3_PHN which is the last one to date from the Samsung ovens.
The only necessary material is the file "] "RMM-State-Bypass.zip" flashed with the TWRP after having deleted the root. That is the solution that has allowed me to return to the official Rom.
you can download your version on the internet if you search and flash it with Odin....look at S8 Guides etc...

Were there any special steps you had to take for installing recovery? Both TWRP and PBRP are not working for me.
EDIT: I fixed it, but I am a long-time lurker on XDA, so I have no idea ho to remove a post. So let's try to make this useful instead.
If anyone else encounters the same problem, it might be because once the stock ROM boots it replaces the flashed recovery with the stock recovery again.
So if booting into the recovery through fastboot doesn't work, reboot normally and immediately press power + volume down without giving it a chance to boot into the stock rom.
The last part is where I personally got stuck, not knowing that the stock rom would replace the recovery.
I have X01BDA, and official TWRP v3.3.1-0 of X01BD is released on 2nd June, I just wanted to know can I use official TWRP of X01BD on X01BDA?
