Someone has managed to activate - built this feature on Oreo LG G6.
Bluetooth headphones - turn on the ringing into bandwidth.
Allow ringtones to be played through bluetooth headphones.
I include it as a developer option, but it does not work.
Android Oreo 8.0 EU LG-H870 20A STOCK ROM.
This option is very necessary for my work.
Any luck?
Any chance of having someone look into this?
Fairly common issue for LG users. I also need this function for work. As much as I dislike iPhone I may be returning to one if Android is going to make us a wait another 5 years for this to work.

Is the new to 7.0 the ability to choose on the fly your Bluetooth audio output? This is the first time I am seeing this.I have my tone infinim connected at the same time. Before it would over ride and go to my head unit and I wiuld need to repair with the headset if I left my truck. I think this is so awesome!
I've never tried it, but my V10 had a pop-up the first time I connected something to BT saying 2 things can be used simultaneously (one for voice, one for media).
Ditto. Same on my v10 and I'm still lollipop. Might be an lg thing. It's handy.

Hello,
I've bought a LG G6 Korean version H870DS and noticed that the bluetooth sound quality drops significantly when other devices (such as my bicycle speed+cadence sensor) are connected. The problem seems to be that it drops in bitrate significantly, you can hear background high-pitched noise such as when listening to a highly compressed sound.
I've found other people who have other G6 version complain of the same thing here and here.
My question is: do people who had this problem, also have it on moded ROMS? I'm wondering if it's a hardware or software problem, and whether it's time to pledge some cash on the H870DS bootloader unlock thread. (altough I don't really want to unlock due to Pay Apps, banking apps, wifi calling app from my carrier complaining/not working on unlocked bootloader.
I'd like to note that on my old "Mpow Swift Bluetooth 4.0" that has cable problems the problem does not show up, while on the recently bought "SoundPEATS QY7 Bluetooth 4.1" which is very much a copy of the first one, does have the problem.
Thanks
PS: it seems the SoundPEATS QY7 doesn't support aptx, while the Mpow does, that might be why the Mpow doesn't exhibit the problem
Hello all,
I love this phone and overall it is much better quality than the Oneplus One it replaced. The issue is with Bluetooth. I have the unlocked US996 variant, not the US Cellular one and the firmware is 10f. I have unlocked it and rooted it. Bluetooth seems to be extremely flaky.
The issues are as follows:
1. I have multiple Pebble smartwatches (Pebble Classic, Pebble Time and Pebble 2SE) as well as an older Samsung Gear Live Android Wear watch. These all lose Bluetooth connection a while after connecting. Not really noticeable since the phone apps for both Pebble and Android Wear will usually still say "connected." This is the largest issue I am having. Clearing bluetooth data in Settings > Apps seemed to work for a time, but now it seems to work for a bit and then loses connection again.
2. Bluetooth audio cuts out for a second every twenty minutes give or take during playback through my car stereo/headphones. This is relatively minor. I have also had it cut out during a call having to switch to phone speaker.
I am guessing this might be an issue with the bluetooth stack that LG used in the 10f firmware? I have had similar issues with Bluetooth with my Oneplus One, but changing up roms (even roms on the same version of Android had differing results). I settled with OmniRom on that phone and the BT connection on it is bulletproof at the moment.
Reading about this phone is a bit confusing due to all of the variants out there. I was thinking of updating the phone to the 10h firmware, but I am not sure how to go about doing so, or even if I can? Will I lose the ability to root? I do not mind using other ROMs if I have to, but on this phone, stock really feels nice to me and it does everything I want it to.
Hi guys. So I've searched about everything I can and can not find a fix for this. At first, my Bluetooth headset wouldn't connect but I've recently fixed that. Now it seems that if I travel more than 2 feet from my phone, the music stops playing. Even if I hold my hand over my phone or put it in my pocket, the music stops and once I take it back out and hold it close to my phone, it works again. Is this a Pie thing or what? I've went to developer options and changed the AVRCP to 1.6 but it doesn't help that much. I love this phone but this is almost a deal breaker for me. Really thinking of returning it and getting a Pixel 2XL if there is no fix. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!
Contact Essential support with this. They're aware of the issue but unsure if they can fix it. I don't know if this is new with Pie or not. I didn't get my Bluetooth headphones until late in the Pie beta.

Thanks. I emailed them. Hopefully this is something that can be patched up. How did your headphones do? Any issues? If not, what kind do you have?

I've been using Munitio NINES for like 5 years (they seriously are in awesome condition after all this time and sound amazing). But I've gotten frustrated a couple times not being able to charge while listening or forgetting the dongle at home. So I grabbed Marshall Major II's in June. These are my bluetooth headphones. They don't sound nearly as good as the Munitio's, but wireless is convenient.
So my experience? I was on Android Pie beta when I got them. Day 1 with the bluetooth headphones and on, if the phone is in my hand at waist level or higher, they work fine. Put it in my pocket or step away, it's like it's buffering constantly. Oddly, at home (suburb), the "buffering" is almost non-existent (key work "almost"). But I haven't tried stepping away from my phone with BT on. In the city where I work, it's almost unusable unless I hold my phone. I think it's interference with so much wifi since BT and most WiFi broadcast over 2.4 Ghz.
I changed my default Bluetooth version in the developer options and it seems that pairing goes quicker as well as device pickup. Have you messed with that?

Yeah. I changed it to 1.6, 1.5, 1.4, default, etc... With no luck. You said you have yours set on default? Is it working perfectly? It's not that mine won't connect, it the range. I just do get it. The more I research it, the more I think it's a Pie issue. I've got on some pixel forums and they have the same issue. I'm in touch with the essential support team so maybe they'll tell me they'll have a update out soon to fix this.
Ever since pie my phone's Bluetooth has stuttered in my car, also have issues connecting sometimes. Plus noticed issues with WiFi as well. It didn't do it until pie.
Bluetooth AVRCP Version = 1.6
Bluetooth Audio Codec = Qualcomm Aptx (not the hd one)
Bluetooth Audio Sample Rate = 48k
Bluetooth Bits per Sample = 32/sample
Bluetooth Audio Channel = Stereo
Bluetooth Audio LDAC = Balanced 660/606
Those are the settings I'm using and I never have any issues except my car stereo takes longer then I like to initialize...
Factory reset always does the trick! This phone is weird like that especially after a major update.
I installed GSI Roms like Pixel Experience, RR both ROMs have issue when using bluetooth call.
Tried with Skype or Whatsapp call, sound will go to phone speaker.
Bluetooth audio (non call) is fine though.
I tried to do bluetooth call from my pc using the same headset and it works normally.
Anybody having the same issue ?
Need help please
It's a massive issue with Android 9, not the Nokia 6.1 plus in particular. I'm returning my 6.1 plus tomorrow due to this problem. It cost me more than the phone to have my car's Bluetooth firmware brought up to be fully 5.0 compliant, but it made no difference.
Google completely **** the bed with Bluetooth on this release, and from what I can see online there's no fix in sight. Android die hard users are jumping ship to Apple all over the place due to this problem.
Short answer, if you want working Bluetooth calls on this device, flash an 8.1 Oreo build, then it will work.

I suspect the same thing.
I saw phhuson have bounty for GSI bluetooth call issue.

Punch your symptoms into google "android 9 bluetooth call problems" or "android 9 bluetooth car problems" and you'll get hundreds of forum listings with thousands of examples of the same or similar behaviour, usually but not always associated with a stock android device such as any android one handset, or the pixel etc... Some 3rd party builds are also affected, OnePlus and Samsung users are reporting problems.
