Eonon GA2163 - adb help please - Android Head-Units

This is an Allwinner T3-P3 unit (Quad core).
No "hardware buttons"on the face. Touch screen with side bar of non-mechanical buttons.
I am trying to get a different MCU on it as the one I have will not work with the radio or Aux Input.
So, I managed to load a rooted/moded rom and have root access.
The "upgrade start" screen flashes by and won't recognize a 64gig Micro-SD in the GPS location no matter what the format (extfat, NTSF, FAT32..nothing).
Phoenix boot doesn't seem to work or at least not with this card and the img files I have (img will not load in phoenix).
Doesn't seem and IMG file is recognized by the system either.
Also tried an 8gig USB stick on the external USB ports (marked USB and USB DVD).
I can get to the ADB screen (from recovery) however, it will not connect with any of my computers (2 of them one Window 10 and another Windows 7). Many drivers installed but the PC
will not see the Eonon GA2163. Device manager shows nothing connected/recognized.. no "!" either or "other" device.
Help, please.
Forgive me if this beginner posted improperly.

Advice on "unbricking" a soft-bricked stick

I've been scouring different forums for nearly a month now and can't find a solution that works for my situation. I resisted posting here, hoping to find the info on my own without any luck. I have a handful (6) of these generic MK809III Rockchip 3188 based sticks, with 4.4.2 KitKat. All identical. I have no idea which Chinese manufacturer assembled them. Four of them work perfectly. Two of them have been corrupted by me. I inadvertently wiped out the build.prop files. The files are there, but they are empty. (I know this because the last one I botched, I could see the file in the open editor with no content, as a read-only. The moment I closed the screen... that was it.
Using the "hold the pin in hole, then power up, wait 5 or 10 seconds, then release the pin" method of recovery (sorry, I don't know the proper name) does boot it into recovery mode, but the screen shows this:
Failed to mount /mnt/external_sd (No such device)
Failed to mount /mnt/external_sd (No such device)
Failed to mount /mnt/external_sd (No such device)
one_data_if_exist->can't find databk partition
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
Booting...
--- then, a stuck boot animation.
My problem, is that I cannot connect to these via USB to do anything to them. My system tools are:
Linux Ubuntu 14.04 LTS workstation
RK_Flashtool_1.7
Android Studio
Latest Android tools sdk
Other tools available to me: A Mac (running Yosemite OSx)
Notes:
- Adb drivers, I assume, are correct, because I can access the working stick computer via ADB
- The RKFlashtool will not recognize any of the corrupted units, or show that it is even connected
- Obviously, I cannot set the "Connect to PC" flag without the OS booted
- In a terminal window, adb does not show the usb device as being connected
- I do not have a back up for any of these. I tried, but both Clockwork and TWRP would not recognize the unit to permit a backup. The working units are recognized as: "gxt_dongle_3188".
I really need some advice. I must be overlooking something, I admit to being somewhat new to Android. I wish it were possible to backup one of the working units, and install it on the corrupt units. But no backup app was installed in the boot loader of the corrupted units (that I'm aware of).
Thanks for your time!
Judging from the lack of responses, this problem must have a lot of people as perplexed as I am. I really thought someone here might have an idea.

BMW Head Unit Revive

Hello to all
I have a BMW specific head unit running Android 8.1 and px6 processor.
The unit that i own is that one :
https://www.alibaba.com/product-det...l?spm=a2700.7724838.2017115.89.4e3cf8c9o0r9Dr
After performing a factory reset from android menu everything seemed ok.
Fresh start.
After leaving the car for some hours and come back , after start the ignition the head unit saws this ( photo attached )
After reading so much i see that the unit is in recovery but since there are no physical button except e reset hole i cannot move into the recovery and select any of the two options.
I tried to install an external usb keyboard but it is not recognized when restarting the unit with the keyboard hooked up.
I tried to install an external usb mouse that is recognized , i can move between the two options if i long press a button it highlights the option but does not give " enter " command.
Seller send me the firmware file tha is in .zip format so i cannot use the sd card tool .
I run out of options at the moment .
Can someone give a hand on this?
The best thing is have this zip file to img file , make a bootable sd card and start from there.
Is that possible?
Thank you all guys !
I attach some other photos of the board if you have any idea.
I opened searching for the C17 ic to do the shprting thing but unless i am blind i cannot find it
Ok, in order to update you will need to name the zip as "update.zip" - that's how i got mine to start.
Also you need to format the SD-Card fat32 and make sure it's empty when you copy the Update.zip file
The other option is to go in recovery but you need to find a working keyboard, for example a Logitech K120 for example works well with mine.
Try both USB ports, and try to cut the power completely when you restart and switch the port.
If you can't get a keyboard to work it's pretty tricky.
You will need to unsolder the small resistor shown it the picture, and bridge the connections next to it. (Don't loose it, you will need to put it back after flashing!)
After that you have access to the OTG, and you can use ADB - USB.
not sure it will work as expected in your case, because the unit is a bit different but if all else fails and you don't care about warranty, you could give it a try.

Thank you for your reply
Well i managed to connect a keyboard and try both options
1) try again
2) factory reset data
in some cases the unit boots lets me play with it make adjustments etc.
But after a full reboot unit is unresponsive again and starts again the boot loop cycle.
After full reboot unit complains that the code i entered is correct but files are damaged and needs full factory reset.
I press the button to full reset but it stays forever in BMW Connecting screen.
The thing is that Android 8 has not .img file to use SD card tool to make a bootable sd so i need to get to recovery.
It has zip file that means OTA so i need recovery.
I do not have success on that.
I think that the SoM is corrupted and i do not know how to fix for now.
Any ideas for that?
If you can get into android some times, then do the following.
Try until you are booted in android.
When you manage to get in android, depending on where you play with the unit, try to have it connected to wireless, and with a laptop on the same wireless network.
Then, install Terminal Emulator on the unit.
Open it and try the following commands;
setprop persist.adb.tcp.port 5555
setprop sys.rkadb.root 1Then, on your laptop install adb, and connect to the unit using ADB connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (xxx... is the ip of the unit)
Once connected you can run the adb reboot recovery command to get in recovery(make sure you have the keyboard working)
Btw, you don't need the sdcard to be bootable.
Try to have the zip file you received directly on the sdcard. Should be PX6.zip, or update.zip, have them both.
Also if you have it on the sdcard when it boots in android, it will detect the update, and you can flash it directly from android.

Have them on the sdcard all the time, and the sdcard connected.
once you manage to get in android, it should pop up a message with the update

i did that with a usb drive.
Update gone smoothly after request to remove the usb drive the unit boot up correctly but in the next full restart i had all the symptoms again.
I thought that you mean to have the files before boot and it will detect update before going into android.
I tried booting with sd card mounted with px6.zip and update.zip inside
It gives No Signal in every boot even with one of two files inside.
and for sometime now it does not boot to android at all !!
Sorry to invade your thread but I have a similar issue about updates. I have a PX6 unit from AVIN and they have released 2 updates for the unit but they just REFUSE to start. I have followed their instructions 100 percent and it recognizes the USB stick in either USB port but the updates don't start. I've tried multiple USB sticks and nothing works. Their support is worthless. Is there a way to launch the update manually?
hello, how can i get recovery mode??
I try whit reset buttom, touching with 5 fingers.. but nothing

Chinese AC8227L mtk - USB issue

Hi all,
I brick unit 2 days ago after bad flash with Mekede Root.img via SDCard and now unit start with black screen, I only hear the cd running 2 sec and nothing else.
Problem on this unit, I never had USB connexion with my pc or my Samsung device (on each 2 slots) when android was alive, so now it's bricked, I opened unit and I'm searching everywhere.
When I plugged USB on pc without 12v, I hear CD inside. When I start with 12V + acc, it's the same, but nothing and black screen.
I installed all drivers MTK from the web lol nothing. I tried to solder a USB cable on USB that goes to the CD in parallel (because I hear something so it's working) but no success. I have 2 pc, 2 different cable so it's not related, I tried all combinations with button / reset (10 sec, 30sec etc).
I tried this from Jacotreus here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...its/how-to-enter-recovery-mode-t3280247/page2 no success too, but that was obvious because no recovery ..
BTW when I plugged sdcard with .img / .upd / .bin, nothing works
Where could I watch to activate this damn USB ? is it really impossible to do something ?
If someone can help, thank you :good:
ps : I bought this unit in second hand, so I can't contact seller. it will end up in a closet so I can hack it
Hi, did you manage to connect to the head unit, I have the same problem, cannot get it to connect to the pc tried test point method still doesn't connect!
Hi no I didn't. I bought a new unit PX30 rockchip witch is not seen either by my pc... but it's working so I don't touch anymore.
My AC8227is still bricked, hope to find how to solve one day
Hi, I know how to get the unit to connect to PC but have no correct rom to flash. Do one of you guys have the rom for this unit?
hello, you can explain to me how you did it
Hello friends!
I bought an Android Head Unit MIB4 (SC9853I) for my VW Golf 7:
https://www.alibaba.com/product-det...l?spm=a2700.7724838.2017115.25.71201862OEMWlE
Everything works fine but I'm having problems with the USB ports.. the 3 usb ports charge my phone but they don't read any usb drive with music. I don't know if this is a hardware or software problem.. I've tried formatting several usb drives (4gb , 1gb, 64gb) in fat32 but none of them are read by any usb port of the headunit.
Please, help me! and thanks in advance..

How to update the radio Alps full_8227L_demo

Hello, please help with updating and where to download new software for the above-mentioned radio. Chipset AC8227L, 1/16 GB. I downloaded programming from https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/help-with-this-chinese-hu-alps-8227l_demo.3930394/ ; every time ith throws an error to let me check the usb and files. I changed 3x USB stick and memory cards, each time the same, FAT32 format.
Hi, format SD card possibly greater than 4GB with standard settings - FAT32 or ExFAT file system and deafult allocation rate.
Next, download one of firmwares that suits your device (for 8227L it has a lot of them on this forum but your device maybe have different UI than XPH.8227_8_xxxxxx mentioned in this above link).
In my oppinion the ones that will work for your model begins with XRC,CHS, JC.
Firmware for download are like this example : CHS.8227L-8.UI4.Android_10_ver.6_xxxx(date of update)
After download and unzipping two files, .bin and .upd transfer those two files on freshly formated disk, nothing else just these two files. If transfering from PC or laptop make sure that you eject the drive before pulling out from PC.
Next step is to make the unit recognize system on SD card. Put the ignition key in contact mode or better turn engine on (before that insert SD card in memory card slot, not MAP slot !) and start tapping with one finger on center on screen untill message DETECTED is seen on upper screen area. If successful it will recognize files and start automatically updating (wait till finishes and enters system / UI), if not or fails to recognize files for update repeat process two or three times untill successful.
If still nothing, enter erase mode / recovery mode (purge of internal memory and files) by tapping with all five fingers on screen. When recovery is completed (it will turn to factory settings) device will be empty of all memory tasks, prevoius configurations etc. , just clean install of Android system, running and with no apps and settings configured. Then insert SD card and try update again.
If device even won't go in recovery mode then you have some factory settings like "protection" or "install" enabled. Turn this off both in factory settings / menu OTHER.
Good luck !
Can I ask for a link where can I download the above software ? unfortunately I cant't find it in google.

It's on forum here just type in search bar 8227L firmware and find best choice for you. If not found wil send you a link.
Sorry but I am not able to find the latest software compatible with my radio, there is too much of it, please help.
I will add that my radio does not have slots for SD cards and Maps, there is only a female USB input to which I can connect a USB flash drive, the device is fully touchable without buttons.
it is probably a Chinese counterfeit I bought on aliexpress, there will be a problem with the selection of the update
Similar firmware to yours is here https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1a9yoWoiuMZRoQVL5O677Y9tmQHHAtmbo
Try to install this one it is TSKJ/CHS UI firmware for devices with 8227L chipset.
Extzract and put downloaded files onto USB drive formated for FAT 32 and try updateing.
memory formatted in FAT32, tried for two different, only two files extracted, each time in green DETECTED and after a while in red "Fail, please check USB and files", I tried several times
restoring the settings with a five-finger touch also did not work
I deleted the data to the initial state, but the update still does not start
I noticed that if I detach the USB and I make a finger movement during startup, the symptom is the same, as if I would not see the usb
Do you have install option in factory settings disabled ? Or protection option ? If do deactivate PROTECTION and enable INSTALL in factory settings (pin code) / OTHER submenu. Then try updating again.
yes, I have it done, I also entered the pin, unfortunately unchanged
Use another USB drive with 2.0 speed not 3.0 if this is the case.
Maybe it's just some stupid thing like this that is keeping you from updating.
If this not succesfull either check your device usb ports if they are working thru USB debug command in factory settings, also turn on all USB to be 2.0 and not 1.1 maybe will help somehow. I think that USB port is missconfigured and are causing not to update.
Another thing , if you have by hand any SD card and USB card reader try with that.
I have debugging turned on in the settings after entering the code 8888, and the USB is switched to 2.0, I tried with a new pendrive and with an SD card reader that I put into the USB, unfortunately still unchanged, I also changed the USB input on the back of the radio by switching the cable

Hm, this is a hard one, has this unit of yours been rooted ?
Honestly, I don't know how can I check it? how to root?
If it turns out I have root, does that change anything?
Install from Google play any app that contains root tester and see. Yes if it is rooted device is modified and altered and do not have stock firmwares, which leads to undesired complications and problems.
If the device turns out to be root, it is possible to work around it in some way to install other software?
I checked, the app showed that my device does not have root
today I bought memory 2.0, but still unchanged, these are my settings, is everything ok?

SP7731E TS7.4.5-100 HU Root or how access USB debugging with PC?

Hello, I have chinese radio with these spec:
CPU: Quad-SL8141E
Android: 10
Hardware info: sc7731e_1h10_v1.1.0 (sometimes it says SC7731e... and in other places it states SP7731e..., not sure what I have )
MCU: Ts7.4.5-100-13-A2A39D-220104 (whatever that is)
I'm looking for a way to root it OR access radio through USB debugging. I need to resize my screen as screen nearby borders is very insensitive (I found this ADB overscan command).
I couldn't find any root for this device, or maybe I can't search, maybe you know something?
Other thing is that I don't have option to turn debugging over Wi-Fi, there's only USB debugging option in developer settings (engineer mode or something like that also doesn't include that option). So I bought USB cable with type A male on both plugs, but I guess that won't work because I can't see this device on my laptop. Like the head unit is in host mode or something, not device mode? Maybe that I can change to "device" so it acts like smartphone when connected to PC? Terminal emulator doesn't work, root required to enter adb commands.
I'm completely exhausted with this screen and unit, many options missing, although it's working fine.
Or maybe there is a way to extract rom image from this head unit, copy to pc, edit it on PC so it has root and then update head unit with "fixed" rom?
