Help using touchscreen on my Pioneer DA100 Car stereo so I can use it to control my MK809IV
I have everything connected up and when I touch the android button on the pioneer CarPlay video I can see the MK809IV screen on my car stereo and tested running a few basic apps and everything works.
I need to use the touch screen and I have seen people using it on YouTube and having it automatically boot into android. The stereo has a horrible interface called “AppRadio”
I’ve saw 3 or 4 different apps that promise to allow me to do it but I need a little help as the following things may or may not be true. It’s connected via HDMI cable and Audio works fine.
1. I need to use the touch screen on my Pioneer Da 100 stereo to control the 809mkIV
2. When it boots I would like the MK809IV to boot to a more simplified car mode with google maps, Spotify etc on the home screen
3. Do I need to root it? What apps should I use I have seen many ARlauncher, ARTliberator etc etc
Any help appreciated hugely

Hey guys, I usually just lurkj the forums but I figured it is time to ask the pros. First off, this is the unit I am installing today: Seems i cannot post the link but here is the title. from amazon Pumpkin Quad Core 7 inch 2 DIN Universal Android 4.4 Car Stereo Radio HD 1024*600 Muti-touch Screen GPS Navigation Without DVD Player Support WIFI/3G/Bluetooth/OBD2/DVR/Mirror Link
I am running a t-mobile service on my phone and I get free data for certain streaming apps. Its pretty cool. Anyway, I just learned that using the phone as a hotspot and then using one of these streaming apps on the device, in this case the new stereo, it does use my data plan... bummer. Anyway I am wondering if there is a wireless mirroring solution that would work and have control over the phone using the touch screen on the receiver? If there is not, how about a wired solution? I have looked into things like android auto. Does that actually work descent and on our receivers? Thanks everyone and a little nudge in the right direction would be awesome :good:
The pumpkin deck has a really basic bluetooth audio interface. I guess that would be the main thing I would like to change. I use Pandora alot and the interface on the deck is really basic. It gives me the option to skip track and play/pause. If I could at least get a similar interface to my old pioneer deck (id3 tags, thumb up/down) that would be cool. Or even a front end app, now that would rock.... Thanks again.
Hi all,
I have a PX6 for a BMW (from AliExpress - model CCT-BBA22B07) and i've been trying to figure out how to enable and use the bluetooth for more than phone calls and media streaming. I want to connect it to a bluetooth ODB2 device.
The PX6 seems to use some of the original headunit's functions and along with some of its own Android features and functions. For example, i can use the original HU for FM radio, CD, Bluetooth for phone calls, etc. while using the Android for other functions like navigation (and any other android app i can think of).
So i ignored the Android bluetooth for the phone and continued using the original HU bluetooth. However, i've been trying to use the Android Bluetooth for ODB2. I've bought a bluetooth dongle (CSR 4.0 usb dongle) hoping that the PX6 will detect it. However, i can't seem to switch on the Bluetooth on the settings. depending on the Bluetooth App i use, it immediately switches off (1ms on, next millisecond off), or it gives an error saying "permission denied"
I tried telling the PX6 to use the Android Bluetooth instead of the HU bluetooth, just to see if the "Factory settings app" prevents control of the Bluetooth, but i can't find the Android bluetooth on my phone (i'm contacting the seller regarding this).
So now that you have the background, basically, i want to continue using my original HU bluetooth for the phone, and i want to have a full featured Bluetooth on the Android device (like a tablet would have). Any ideas on how this is possible? I'm hoping there's no need to strip the screen and remove electronic components from the PC boards?
wow, I have a similar issue, I am suprised NOONE knows anything. xtrons sucks for support
Hi guys
I just bought a Android HU (PX6, Pie, for BMW E90 with 1280x480 display). I'm pretty impressed with the out-of-box functionality and possibilities you gain with this, but there are some little culprits.
I noticed that steering wheel controls (prev/next track) only work in MTC/builtin apps, but I wanted to have them control other media apps like Spotify. Since every attempt I tried through software didn't work (changing MCU settings, key remap apps, mymtcservice, mtce-utils, modify key config files), I was left with waiting till the software solutions get updated for PX6/Pie, or making an own CanBus to USB-HID-converter with an Arduino and others. While i may go that route someday (would love to use the iDrive controller in Android Auto), I found an alternative way/workaround to achieve what I want in the meantime.
What you need is a Creative BT-W2 adapter. It's a standalone bluetooth adapter which gets recognized as a USB audio card and also a HID device, since it supports AVRCP. I'm basically using this device as a AVRCP to USB-HID converter.
First you need to disable USB audio routing in Android developer settings. Then I connected this thing to an USB port of HU, and connected it also through bluetooth with HU. I did need several tries to pair them, since the device somehow doesn't show up in HU bluetooth settings, and it also states "not connected" while it is. After that SWC buttons already started working.
How does it work? SWC next track button pressed -> recognized by MTC bluetooth/music app -> sent through AVRCP to BT-W2 -> emulates USB-HID media key press -> gets recognized by Android system -> gets sent to the media app.
It may be a bit overkill ond also not that cheap, but if you only want working SWC in media apps without fiddling and stuff, this may be a useful way. Probably there are similar devices on Ali which do the same and are cheaper. Together with Automate to autoplay Spotify on boot and Android Auto in standalone mode I finally have a nice integrated Spotify setup in my car, without having to connect my phone.
Hope this helps anyone.
Hy
That sounds very interessting, i`m looking for a working "open" BT since long time.
what i don`t understand is, what do you mean by SWC ?
And with what do you control the spotify app then ? you have connected an external hardware ?

Modify Android 8.1 head unit for better menus & easier BlueT controller compatibility
I bought an iMars 7 from banggood, I believe it’s called a “Android Head Unit AC8227l” but from reading on here it could be a YT9217 or a YT9218 (?)
The menu systems I’ve seen running on these online, on pics or YouTube videos vary. But my menu system is quite clunky and limited.
I can connect a phone via Bluetooth for calls or on-device music controls, but I can not connect any Bluetooth controllers (I’d like a Bluetooth control for music and calls since using a touch screen and driving is a no-no). But I would also like to connect a Bluetooth games controller for my girlfriend to be able to play on it when we’re driving on long journeys.
Also, some better menu controls would be useful as the settings are limited at brightness, WiFi, and a few other minor things. Some display settings, better sound settings, and some others would be really useful.
I havnt wired the radio antenna in because of a lack of a female to female jack, and the reverse camera hasn’t been set up yet so their compatibility isn’t an issue right now!
Is there a way of modifying the software to allow for what I’m after? I’m decent with tech, but rooting an android device (even if that’s the correct terminology) is new to me!
Thank you for any help or advice

Sorry to say, but forget about all your wishes. BT is not available for other devices as phone and OBD.
Modifying the software to get this fixed... good luck...
Hi all,
I have an old school CarPC that I'm looking to refresh with Android Auto. The system in my car has a head unit and a somewhat unintegrated GPS system (separate screen from the headunit, which has no screen at all, only dumb controls). The way it works presently is my CarPC video is tied into the GPS screen and the audio is tied into the headunit Aux input.
You can see some of the details here if itnerested:

What I'm looking for really is any hardware device that:
1) can run Android Auto
2) outputs video to VGA
2) accepts a USB controller for capacitive touch screen
3) accepts a USB controller for Car2PC/Aux input -- devices like these allow a standard audio jack plug into the Aux port, and then ALSO enables steering controls to work (volume, next/previous track, voice control prompt)
4) accepts a standard jack microphone
5) not critical but ideally accepts a radio antenna to integrate OTA radio signal into Android Auto
I *think* raspberry PI is my best option at this point, but it seems like it doesn't have all of the kinks worked out as of yet. If there is something I could install on the bare metal of my car PC, I think that'd be most ideal.
I'll appreciate any expertise on this!
