Unlocking the P10 Lite and ROM advice - Huawei P10 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi,
I'll preface this with my specs:
Model: P10 Lite
Model number: WAS-LX1 (3 GB RAM, 32 GB internal storage variant)
Build number: WAS-LX1C432B193
EMUI 5.1 - Android 7.0. My setup is fully stock, no mods of any sort whatsoever.
Now, I've been interested in unlocking the bootloader and trying out Oreo on the device. I've already requested the unlock code, but have not yet unlocked the bootloader itself.
Firstly, I would like to ask you if it's worth unlocking the bootloader/flashing any of the custom ROMs or stock based ROMs and if you find Oreo better than Nougat on this device. If yes, which ROMs (custom or stock-based) and recoveries do you recommend and how exactly would I go about the unlocking process? Are there any risks involved (compared to other OEMs like OnePlus) Are there any prerequisites or guides on all this? Coming from Nexus and OnePlus devices where this stuff is a breeze, I wonder how much does Huawei differ.
Thanks in advance!

First off, got the unlock code before the service shuts down. Then install TWRP via fastboot using the recovery_ramdisk command. Then update to Oreo ASAP. It's miles better than Nougat. There are no downsides other than no OTA updates with custom recovery. No DRM keys or that hassle. I'd recomment, no, insist enabling Enable OEM unlock from developer settings. Dunno how you unlock BL on pixel or OP devices, but for HUawei you enable OEM unlock. Then shut down the device, hold Vol - then connect the USB cable to the PC. here you issue the regular fastboot oem unlock *bl unlock code*.
Oreo is a godsend for this device.

axon 7 A2017U - do all software updates so far have fully unlockable bootloader?

I am currently on A2017U B29 Marshmallow 6.0.1 full Stock. I did not upgrade so far to Nougat, in fear of ZTE locking the bootloader, etc.
In future, I want to fully unlock the bootloader, install TWRP, and load Lineage OS.
If I upgrade my phone to the latest Stock Nougat, will I still be able to do the move to lineage - did ZTE mess up the bootloader any way in Nougat?
From what I read here, it is safe to do so and that I can always unlock the bootloader no matter what - but I need a quick confirmation.
Thanks.

bootloader unlock Can You Receive Updates via Ota or No?

I am curious about these issues, my question is the following when I unlock my Bootloader I can do an update via OTA when it arrives on my device? Or is my phone going to have Hard Brick?
I want to give a Downgrande on my smartphone but it is still in stock without any modification. And through the tutorials I read ask for the unlock Bootloader. My intention is to only downgrade. A friend of mine gave the following idea: "unlock the bootloader to then downgrade and after it has been successfully done." I search how to lock the bootloader again using CMD to put a system with the bootloader locked and so in the future I will be able to receive updates via Ota. " Does This Worker Ideas In Practice?
This my Frist Post here If I make a mistake, tell me, we will not repeat.:fingers-crossed:
When it comes to being able to receive updates when bl is unlocked, that's a yes, it will work fine and won't affect your phone's functionality.
On the other hand downgrading is generally a bad idea. The problem is, when you update your phone your bootloader also gets an update. All parts of the OS except for the bootloader can be downgraded to a previous version, and if you do that, the downgraded OS can function normally on the newer bootloader.
Now comes the tricky part. If you try to do an OTA on a downgraded OS with a new bootloader, the OTA will treat the bootloader as if it were the old one, and will overwrite parts of it that it shouldn't, which will corrupt it. And there you have a pricey paperweight.
The only way of updating a downgraded device is to flash it clean with a newer version (or the version same as the bootloader).
Now what is the reason you'd want to downgrade?
After Unlocked Bootloader You Can't Get OTA Updated Even You Relock Bootloader ., tested On Moto G5s
Model X1795
However During try to Relock or downgrade Oreo 8.1 to 7.1.1 You May Get Complete Dead Your Phone as my phone goes During downgrade .

My bootloader is unlocked.
I wanted to upgrade to the latest firmware and because I was rooted I flashed the firmware I was on at that moment (no down - or upgrade) again and after that I was able to apply and install every single OTA up to the latest. I could have flashed the latest Oreo firmware directly too but I wanted to test this way and to update by flashing latest firmware would have been possible after that too.
So updating via OTA with an unlocked bootloader was no problem for me.
In the end you get the unlock code from Motorola itself and it would be kind of strange if they won't deliver updates anymore for a feature they provide for their devices.

Hello,
you need the 'bootloader code' that can be read with a paid service.
DC-UNLOCKER for PCs or DC Huawei Bootloader Codes app you find on the store
will help you do the work.
Install the drivers for your device/hisuite on your PC.
Then install adb&fastboot on your PC and use it to unlock.
Backup everything you need because unlock will factory reset your device...
Remove all security (fingerprints, etc..), enable oem-unlock and usb-debugging in developer options,
then proceed with the unlock. (these steps are essential to prevent bricks)
Both the website and the app contains detailed guides.
Good luck dude.
P.S.: Yes P9 lite mini is supported...
Cheers
To unlock you can use dc unlocker, as for roms, well SLA dosen't have any custom roms not even lineage however i am working on a EMUI based ROM which should be here soon.
Well that didnt boot, however lineageos 14.1 is ready but untested also theres a working twrp built for p9 lite mini, if tou want updates then join telegram group for p9 lite mini

Please help to unlock bootloader

Hi everyone.
I know the Huawei website to unlock phones for free is gone so is there a way to unlock it without paying. I have a WAS-LX2 EMUI 8.0.0 C185. I can't flash any rom.
I've unlocked mine with DC unlocker. I had to revert first to EMUI 5. I used HiSuite to do that. Now I'm running AOSP 10! Works like a charm.
