I have a rooted (using EX Kernel + TWRP) Moto G4 Plus. After some ota my external sd card is not supported completely.
-Moto file manager's option to show external sd card is greyed out(screenshot attached) . It detects it as an usb storage which crashes the app on opening.
Can't select it as default storage in the Moto camera app .
Google photos doesn't show its content.
MTP only shows internal storage.
I have tried so far:
- Formatted the external sd card from storage settings with no luck.
- It is working fine with Solid File explorer.
- I can only explore its content using native android storage explorer.

(I don't know how to scale images.)
Still waiting for a possible fix. Downgrade seems to be a possible solution.

Hi
for the second time, my mp3 files has been deleted and I see nothing when I open the Music folder from my phone..
but when I connect the device using "Disk Drive" connection, I see large files (some of them are 2 GB size and bigger ) and they are currupted, I can't delete,rename,move them !
however, the free memory still like before the problem happens,,
in the first time, I had to format my sd card..
I'm not ready to format it again because it takes alot of time to refill the card with files

I have seen this issue with my HTC Touch Elfin. I can't delete these huge files via activesync as well, but I can delete them by directly putting the SD card on a regular memory card reader on desktop/laptop Windows.
The only suspect was the files corrupted whenever the HTC Touch hang and have to remove battery to soft reset it.

help me!!!!!i lost my phone internal storage,i don't know why?is it any way to get it back?
i search about it but i don't understand how to fix it?
Happened to me.
I switched on the USB Mass storage function (Options - General - USB Connection - Mass storage - be sure to choose internal storage and not the memory card [might be different - CZE language]), connected to my computer, then Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer management - Disk Management - and now I'm not sure if I had to delete the partition and recreate it, or if the format was enough (It's FAT, didn't tried FAT32).
I have a rooted Droid X and I am trying to install apps from the market. When the apps get down downloading i get this error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
This does not happen to all the apps, just some apps that i try to install. I also get this when i try to update some apps to.
Anyone have a idea what i could do to fix this?
I was getting that message as well. I searched around and found this bit of advice as a work around: just unmount the SD Card by going into Settings > Storage > Unmount SD card & download whatever you wanted, then just re-mount the card when the install finished. But I grew tired of that so I copied the files on my card onto my computer & used my DX to re-format the card. Then I re-loaded most of the files I copied & haven't had that problem since.
I hope this helps.
Hi,
I am trying to download maps from GPS Here application to my Sd card but it doesn't work. Is there a way to grant
permission to the Sd card?
I can copy them from the Internal storage to the Sd card with Total Commander but Here doesn't recognize them.
Thanks for help,
Daniel
In the app, Settings / Storage memory. Switch from Internal to whatever the other option is. It will be the internal ID Android uses, not the name you gave your card when you formatted it.
Hi,
This I know but it doesn't work.
It is an issue with the permission to access the Sd card.
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
It works for me. The SD access limitations only prevents apps from accessing data the app doesn't own. They shouldn't prevent an app from accessing its own data.

I have had messages saying the internal memory is full but I have only 7 apks installed .When I checked the internal memory it showed I had 2.5gb of "photos and videos" which are not mine .I rebooted the tv to factory settings and they are gone but would it be easier to use developer options ? Can I edit the memory there ? Thanks
