My mom is having an issue with her S5 and came to me for help but im stumped... When the keyboard is open and you swype the notification drawer down, the notifications fall behind the keyboard instead of the drawer being on top of it. At first I thought it was a "draw over apps" issue but no luck. Anybody heard of this or have any ideas/fix? U.S Cellular, Android 6.0.1. Thanks.

Well, I have a weird problem I have never seen before. My notification bar area has lost touchability. I know, this sounds weird. In other terms, I have lost the touch function of the top ~1 cm of the screen.
I have tried wiping everything possible, changing roms, kernels, recoverys; nothing helps. I have officially given up on making the top bar work. Oh and I might note that I am out of warranty and Sprint will not help.
So now, here comes my question: Is there any app that lets me perform a gesture while inside any app to open my notification bar? Something similar to wave launcher but for opening the notification bar.
If you are on CM7, you can use the Tablet Tweaks under Cyanogenmod Settings to move the status bar to the bottom -- then you can swipe it from there.

So part of your screen failed...get it fixed... better than a workaround
Why are you out of warranty? They know you're rooted? You should have a 1-year manufacturer warranty from HTC.
Also, if you use 3rd party launchers such as ADW and LauncherPro, you can change your swype down gesture. For example, you can make a swype down on the homescreen open the notification drawer.

If you've taken it to Sprint & they've refused to fix it, try a different store. Unroot first, of course.
You could always flip the phone to landscape and pull it down from there. I hate auto-rotate, but that's just me.
Also, in slightly older versions of MIUI, the "recent apps" window was part of the notification area. I really liked being able to long-press the home button, then swipe left/right to get to notifications/toggles. It was especially handy in an app where the notification bar is automatically hidden. I believe the last build to include this was 1.4.8, everything since has a separate window for recent apps. If you like MIUI, you could try 1.4.8 or before.

All the Galaxy S series and NOTE series phones has that feature built-in. (no settings you can change)
Just swipe your finger down anywhere below the center of the screen and it will work great.
It's possible that you are using a launcher which has an option to change the
default swype down to some other action and that's why its not working for you.
Give it a try, good luck!

Try nova launcher. This allows you to setup gestures such as swiping down anywhere for the notification bar. However, this feature is only available on the home screens so im afraid it won't help if you're in an application

Hi.
The swip down below the center doesnt work and i like the original launcher. There is some other way to setting it?
Other app which not change the original launcher?
A coworker of mine received the 4.4.2 update the other day for his Galaxy S4, but now his quick settings do not work. He can slide the notification tray up and down with no problem, but he can't select anything in the quick settings pane. It is like the pane doesn't register touch. Anyone else encounter this bug?
It is 4.4.2, build KOT49H.S0001.131204 on Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition

Yes I am having this problem to and I rooted my G S4 with omnirom and the quick settings worked but as soon as i restored it with titanium backup and stopped letting me click on it.
So here is my problem, and maybe someone is experiencing the same thing, I'm on stock At&t 4.4.2 Lg G2, went ahead and removed the Navigation Bar and when i rebooted it, my stock weather widget as well as my stock lgg2 keyboard stopped working. I don't really care about that, but whats really annoying me is that i've tried PIE control and LMT and i can't swipe from the bottom up. It'll only trigger it from the sides, Also installed GMD from playstore and no swiping as well. I wonder if the problem is the Ring pad? Anybody experiencing this things?
So I have been using nova prime for a long time and up until yesterday I noticed an issue where I have an option to hide notification panel. When it's hidden and I enable swipe gesture to access notification drop down as the panel moves up my widgets move up and the notification panel with the clock and WiFi and such is no longer hiding as it should until I hit recent apps then it shifts back to normal
This is pretty consistent and annoying has anyone else faced this issue where the Nova notification pull down moves your widgets and you hidden notification bar won't hide? If anyone has a solution please let me know. I hope I'm not the only one with this issue.
Hey I'm having the same problem, I'm expecting the developer to fix this problem soon, since the s10 has just been released
