Hi, the earpiece of my nokia 6 2017 doesn't seem to be working. Is there a way to fix it? It doesn't work in either regular calls or whatsapp calls. Speakerphone works fine though.

The first solution is to make a factory reset, then see if it works
The second solution is to change the earphone jack, because it is enlarged by the your home theatre ear plug

I have a german version of X1 , almost everyting works fine but with a little problems. i am a 3-year WM user and know the basic stuffs of this OS.
but the worst thing is the mic on headset dosen't work at all, the button and the speaker are good.
dose anyone have the same problem with me? and what should i do?
thanks
On my phone the headset jack needed a really hard push to go all the way in. Make sure you really have pushed it as far as it goes. But I guess you already tried that, huh.
Should be an easy thing to get replaced at the store though.
Returned my first X1 because of a not-working button >and< microphone of the headset (ordered via internet). The replacement phone had the same problem.
In the accompanying shop, which I finally visited, also a third phone did not work. They tried a bit more when I left and discovered that it can work if you connect the headset >when< a call is received...
Also, they reported that it is not a know problem for the X1.
Well, with three not-working phones it seems to be a problem!
Maybe a headset problem instead?
my headset doesn't work if the phone is on vibrate or no sound mode. If I change the phone to normal then the headset works. Touch cruise headset works on vibrate mode. I am not sure if other people have the same situation. I only the put phone in vibrate mode at work so if I want to use headset I just change phone to normal, life goes on.
same problem
By using voice recording it uses the mic from the phone. i think it's a problem of the software. It does not switch... maybe a registry issue...
i have the same issue, and its a hardware problem, because if you plug it a couple of times, sometimes works and sometimes dont...
someone has found a solution to this?
Hello,
I have an issue that i'm having when i call people with Viber on my Google Nexus 4. While using the phone speaker or the earpiece i hear the voice of the person i'm speaking with clearly without any audio buzzing but when i use the earphones, i'm hearing a background buzzing even before the connection is established with the person while it's still ringing. I also have a Bluetooth headset and it's working perfectly , this issue only appears when using the earphones . I've also tried different earphones without any success.
Does anybody have the same issue ?
Thank's
Can anyone try to reproduce this issue on his phone please, so i can know if it is a hardware problem and eventually send my Nexus 4 back to google for repairing.
Thank you.

Known issue. You probably buzz all the time. Search earpiece buzzing/crackling.

No it seems finally to be a proximity sensor problem because i was able to reproduce it with an application which turns off the screen even when not incall and the buzzing appeared while listening to music !!! It was this topic which made me "smell a rat" : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2129140&highlight=proximity
Then i decided to disable the proximity sensor since it will solve my problem and still i can use lock unlock during a call, so i tried the build.prop solution : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626611 without success
and then i tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1658474 without success too.
Any idea please to help me solve my problem ?
There is probably an answer to this problem somewhere already but I haven't managed to find one that solves it for me so I decided to open a thread here incase someone could help me before I rip my hair off.
The problem is that my voice is completely silent in the opposite end during a phone call but when I turn on speakerphone it works perfectly fine, it also works fine when I use a headset even if it doesn't have an own microphone. So this makes me think it's more of a software than hardware problem as the microphone is obviously working?
One thing that is so weird is that when I plug in a headset without a mic, everything works as it should, then when I pull out the headset it continues to work as it should, not only on speakerphone, even if I end the call and make a new one it still works but after a while the problem is there again.
What I've tried to do to solve the problem:
Factory reset twice
Updated to latest OS
Cleaned the holes
I'm forever grateful to the one who helps me solve this.
is there an solution?
Please help,
Samsung have returned my phone twice saying no fault found, but every time I make or receive a call there is no sound on the other end. The mic works for google search, video recording, voice recorder app etc, but as soon as I make a call no one can hear me at all. Any ideas welcome please before I end up selling it as faulty. Gutted and tearing my hair out!
Hey!
I have a similar issue with my S7. Microphone does not work only during the calls. Turning on speakerphone does not help (as it should when you have a broken bottom microphone) and also if I connect headset then the microphone from the headset works. In all other aps both (botom, top) microphones work (I do have stereo in video recording etc.). Did it happen to you after system update or when?
Cheers
A small update:
I have found that the issue is even more silly for me.
So I make a call and the person to whom I am calling cannot hear me. Then I connect a headphones, but ones without a microphone. And suddenly the microphone in the phone starts working. But the moment I disconnect them it stops.
Can you confirm this happening for you?
its old, but i have same problem. Now, I am trying to flash stock rom and see if it will work. After restart, I microphone works only once in call app, that it dont work. But i can record audio with it and in any other app it works. Idk what is the problem, but i want to find out
Hi guys, so by the title you already know the question. People cannot hear me ONLY WHEN on speaker. During regular calls they can hear me fine. Even if I switch between regular and speaker call, still the same: cannot here me when on speaker.
I tested the mic, and it works, because it records and I can dictate within the keyboard.
Do you have any idea why this happens? Is there a setting maybe that I have changed? I have no clue...
What case do you have

I had this problem with my S7 and had to replace the device as it was defective out of the box. Factory reset did not work and I tried without case on.
