S7 edge brick while flashing oreo with ODIN - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I downloaded from sammobile the files that i needed for the device, the model G935F.
I tried flashing it with odin (latest version). It failed at recovery.img (after flashing it and boot.img).
The phone doesn't reboot to the system. It only shows error mode and to use the smart switch emergency, but it says that the device is not supported.
Any help? Thank you

Which country you bought it from ? Was your phone network locked ? Use odin 3.13.1, also tell which firmware you flashed ..

Thats because you are flashing older bootloader version..
Here flash this rom using odin 3.13.1 https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=6D0B51DC4B6111E89F15FA163EE8F90B
Be sure to untick repartition and use CSC file NOT home_CSC..

Means you used home_CSC and not the CSC file.. do what I posted above and it will be fixed, be sure to use CSC file, and uncheck repartition in odin options .. Good Luck

Its asking for the previous account that was logged on before it bricked. If you are the owner put your account details and if its someone else like your customer or friend, ask them for the details of previously logged in account.. that frp lock is there for security and xda won't allow to discuss solution here. You should search yourself now for a solution .. Good Luck !

Download odin from here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4431597&d=1519662712
And latest indian oreo firmware from here : https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=D134CED66BD611E89F15FA163EE8F90B

[Q] Firmware update failed, Wi-Fi and sound doesn't work (GT-I9505)

Hello,
First I must say, that I'm not English native speaker, so sorry for any language mistakes.
I have a pretty serious problem with my Galaxy S4 LTE I9505. I downloaded the latest official ROM for my model (I9505XXUBMGA_I9505OXXBMG3_XEO) from SamMobile and I wanted to flash it via Odin 3.07 (previously I had CyanogenMod 10.2). But during the flashing process Odin give me "FAIL".
After that my phone was showing downloading screen with this information:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT-I9505
CURRENT BINARY: Sansung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0x0
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0x1
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30
WRITE PROTECTION: Enable
SW. REV: CHECK FAIL: fused: 2, Binary: 1
"Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
Click to collapse
Of course I was trying Emergency Recovery option in Kies, but it was failing all the time. I also was trying to flash it again, but Odin again shows me "FAIL" during the process. So I choose re-partition with PIT file and stock, branded ROM (I9505XXUAMDE_I9505PLSAMD8_I9505XXUAMDE_HOME). And it works, now I can boot my phone and original recovery without any problems, but unfortunatly I can't enable Wi-Fi module and any function that needs sounds just don't work (phone calling, system sounds, notifications etc.). Kies don't want to update my OS from stock, branded version to newest one (error while updating device). I also tried this on different PC, but it's always showing "FAIL" in Odin.
What should I do to get back to stock firmware? Right now I can only send text messanges and use internet via carrier data plan...

re flash your original updated firmware. let it boot up and then do a factory reset vol up-power and home. hope this helps
You can install the any stock rom that ends on H8
samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9505
You will not have root access anymore and are stucked with unremovable annoying system apps...
But thats the price to pay to have your phone back. I was phoneless for 3 days because of this. I'm happy to be still alive, but also wondering if live without root is worth it..

[How-To]Install Vodafone-Branded Marshmallow firmware to your G920F ONLY!!!

Hi to everyone!!!
I saw that many of you are having issues about the installation of the Vodafone-branded OS. If you want to install it very easily and fast, just follow this guide! You can follow this guide to install any branded OS to your G920F ONLY
WARNING: This procedure will delete all of data, however it wont trip KNOX
1. Download the Vodafone branded OS (here mirror not mine)
2. Download this pit file if your phone is the G920F ONLY
3. Open Odin and put the pit that we downloaded in the pit section and the firmware in the AP selection.
4. Start flashing
5. Voila. It is recommended to wipe the data and cache after flashing the OS to ensure the best performance out of it.
That's it. This pit file is made from @yakapa40 and make sure you press the "Thanks" button to him too.
Don't forget to press the "Thanks" button to me to for letting you know about this trick. I have tested and it works like charm!!!
No extra help will be given from me
Thanks for this PIT file, and if we want to go back to the original pit file do you know where we can find it ?
My version goes like this
1. Unpack G920FXXU3DPB8+Service+firmware.zip (Link)
2. Put the files where they say they should go (AP = AP / BL = BL ect)
3. Press Start
4. Done
This wipes you're storage so backup beforehand!
EDIT: Not sure if this trips KNOX, it shouldn't as its official firmware, but I cannot tell you as I already had KNOX tripped from the beta

I downloaded the PIT And FW and followed the OP's instructions, worked perfectly. My question is, With tha new security update a while ago, where you can't downgrade your Android OS version. Now that I am on the 6.0.1 from the OPs post, am I able to revert back to my original PIT and Android 5.1.1?
If so, how do I know what PIT is my original one, and to reflash it do I need to follow the OPs instructions, only changing the PIT used and FW used? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Forgot to say, I am on the Meteor Network, in Ireland.

Hi,
Just to clarify can I use this method to flash Vodafone firmware on to my O2 branded and network unlocked G920F?

S7Edge G9350 Qualcomm English HK Rom ROOTED TWRP 100% working *Updated to APH2

This is my first ever attempt at this so I cannot guarantee this will not damage your phone or destroy the housing market.
I bought this phone on a trip in China expecting to have a plentiful selection of roms on my return to Canada, only to be met with zero roms, and the only information on Chinese forums.
Having been inspired by the Aurora Rom, I decided to try and build something more compatible with North America
This is based off the latest Hong Kong (INT) firmware G9350ZHS2APH2
So far I have not learned how to properly build a standalone rom (flashable zip) so here is a 100% working guide for now. I will post the zip once I have figured that out
This was only tested on a Chinese G9350 Qualcomm S7Edge. Please don't attempt on any other model
Backup your phone!
Make sure your bootloader is unlocked!
Install Samsung USB Drivers
If you already have TWRP, and are having problems mounting data, boot into recovery and Format Data. If you want TWRP first, flash the TAR G9350.TWRP.3.0-321.tar
Boot into download mode
Launch the modified Odin
Load all the corresponding files. (BL, CP, CSC, and the AP file) Only the AP is required, the rest is optional.
Click the bottom left button to start the flashing process.
Reboot back into download mode
Flash the AP TAR (G9350.TWRP.SuperSU.tar) This will flash TWRP, then boot into recovery and flash root
You should now have a rooted, International speedy rom with working recovery
There is no extra bloatware in this rom, however I recommend using TiBu or Package disabler to remove the TouchWiz bloat.
Samsung USB Drivers
Modified Odin
TWRP & SuperSU Root
Data Encryption disabler - Updated 2.1
Odin AP/PDA Firmware file
Odin BL
Odin CP
Odin CSC
Thank you to all the devs on the Chinese forums http://bbs.gfan.com/forum-1663-1.html, and to Android File Host for hosting my files.
Any comments or suggestions are welcome!

Thank you so much for that, this is great, I've been looking for this for quite a while.
Before I try it out, can you confirm :
1) Is this a full ROM and/or will this wipe my phone user data?
2) If it is a full ROM, will I still receive OTA updates and will I need to re-root afterwards?
3) How to I check my bootloader is unlocked?
4) Any benefit to flash the BL, CP, CSC files in Odin?
Thanks a lot for you input,
Regards,
Benjamin
thank you

Does anyone who's flashed know if there are camera issues with this ROM? Other ROMs have problems with the cameras just showing red.
Also I assume that knox is tripped on this ROM?
I have the same question with the upstairs.anybody can answer?

Changing carrier ROMs US variant S7 edge

Have a question here, we get a lot of US imported phones here in Pakistan, mostly AT&T and Verizon S7 edge phones.
They've got carrier bloat and whatnot, I remember reading people flashing Verizon ROMs to get that to work properly on their AT&T phone and flashing AT&T on a T-Mobile phone to get that to work properly, so if one flashes a G935U firmware on a G935V, is it expected to work fine and act as an ordinary Snapdragon 820 S7 edge with no carrier bloat or anything?
All replies will be appreciated.
Thanks

I tried flashing G930U on my G930V through odin but it failed. It appears that I can't flash anything using odin. The only way by which I was able to install a firmware manually was through stock recovery by Applying update from sd card.

I have, but there have been reports of it not working for some people as well, so I wanted to know if it's a legit method or if it's trial and error and it works for some and it doesn't work for others, because if it does work officially, then it'd solve a huge headache on choosing US variant phones here and we can all relax since the 935U firmware can be flashed on carrier branded phones.
Now, I need to get my hands on an American S7 edge to test this out myself.
Off course without testing nothing can be confirmed ... But most people r too faint hearted to try it

Try Odin 3.12.3 and the latest Nougat firmware for the G930U with the XAA (unlocked) CSC.

Btw which files (AP, BL, CSC etc) I need to flash through odin? As I have noted that flashing CSC renders non-verizon sim unusable.

All of them. AP includes the system, recovery and cache, CP includes modem, BL includes bootloader, and CSC includes sales code.
The ROMs for S7 usually come with CSC and HOME_CSC, the latter will not wipe your device and keep the Verizon CSC which may cause issues and require you to factory reset your phone, the normal CSC files wipes the data and switches your CSC to the new one you're trying to flash.
Choose whichever one you want but I'd suggest the normal CSC just to be safe.

The main issue with me was poor battery life which was resolved when I reverted back to marshmallow. But I have yet to test the battery life on nougat. Other than this, phone is running smoothly and it feels light now due to no bloatware.

id like to know can i flash the 930u on a metropcs 930t1
Have been trying all day to load 935u on my sprint phone and it loads but it just boots into the same sprint firmware, anyway for me to change this?
Just tried to redo this, so maybe i was mistaken that it loaded....FAILS at installing boot.

You probably can, try it out, worst case scenario it fails and you'll just boot back into your normal MetroPCS firmware.

Those are my files on android file host. What's my username, bboii86 correct? You could've tagged me in it, instead of taking all the credit to yourself in your thread. I can easily report that thread, for posting something without my consent, you choose. :good:
Are thes e for ATT? I keep getting the error: FAIL! Model dismatch fail after I click start in odin

Neat. They've been shared 100x. I wasn't taking credit, just sharing. Did you credit the creators of those files you uploaded or are you just doing the same? ?

Actually, I pay a yearly subscription to recieve those files, that you shared without my consent. Next time you want to share something of mine, try tagging or asking me and I would've been fine with it. So Nothing triggered

My S8+ is stuck in a bootloop after an OTA update a few days ago. I have tried cache partition wipe, factory reset wipe and safe mode. It is still in bootloop and will get to the starting android screen.
I successfully flashed with these files and the phone is still in a bootloop. Any idea why?
Any help is appreciated.

I recommend flashing back to nougat using BRB1 odin files and then updating it manually to CRB9.
