Hey everyone,
I'm on ACS (frozen Syndicate) ROM. Its working pretty good for me. However today I've a problem as described http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947409 here.
Everything keeps force closing. (I've tried clearing data for swype, messsaging, google framework -- everything which was showing fc)
The thing I installed just before this happening -- simple calendar widget and used it.
Any ideas (I would like to avoid re-flashing at least for next 2/3 days) ?
Boot into CWM and try fixing permissions. Worked for me.
I've been using it for a while didn't have any problem.
However why do you exactly mean by
try fixing permissions.

I'll try it and let u know
Thanks
Boot into CWM and go to advanced>Fix Permissions.
found it now trying...
Cool seems like its been fixed
Thanks a lot
I'll try simple calendar widget again and use of firefox will let u know if that issue can be recreated.
No problem.
I'm using stock touchwiz and the weather widget doesn't auto update even though it's set to do so every 1hr. Dont understand why this doesn't update. I can manually update it by hitting the refresh icon but it never auto updates even though it's set to do so.
Never had this issue with my S3.
I'm also on the latest ATT update.
Only modification I have is that I'm rooted.
Anyone one else have this issue?

Wipe cache in 3e Recovery, then remove and re-add the widget, also ensure Location settings are on.
Got an error on trying to wipe the cache partition through stock recovery. It started doing it then showed ERROR.
So I tried another method of basically finding the weather widget application through applications, then clearing the data/cache for it there, then resetting the settings and it worked for the past 2hrs. So will keep an eye on it.

Hi, this is my second ever post and before any says anything, I did search for a fix before and couldn't find anything. If anyone could be so kind as to lead me to one if there is, then I will gladly use that instead. Anyways, a few months ago, I rooted my Verizon Galaxy S5. That night, I foolishly updated my phone and it updated my kernel version. As far as I could tell, nothing major/awful happened to my phone other than that every time I booted up my phone, it annoyingly said "custom" under the android splash screen and that the download app, the one that is stock to an android phone and the one you use to access all of your downloads such as an apk or a pdf file that you downloaded from the internet, was missing from my app drawer. I still had the icon on my home screen because I was using nova launcher and that saved the icon but otherwise, it was like it never existed at all on my phone. I could access the app using the home screen icon but that was it. Today, I updated my phone using Odin and now, I have lollipop 5.0 and the annoying custom from the splash screen is gone but the downloads app is still missing. Can anyone help me? Should I just try downgrading back to 4.4.2? Edit, I imported the same back up that had the download app, is it called download manager now? If so, I still don't have it except on the system itself, no way to access it.
Im losing my mind now, This is the second time I have this issue and Im not making the 10000th factory reset again.
Wtf wont it uninstall from the phone. Im even using wear app manager.
Now the app duolingo using ram on my watch and I cant do anything about it
Please help. Do I really need rooting ???
I had a camera app get stuck on my Urbane. I don't remember exactly what I did to fix it, but it was something like this:
(wait about a minute between each step)
- Restart phone and watch
- Resync apps
- Re install the stuck app
- Resync apps
- Uninstall the stuck app
I removed some stock apps using adb, and something broke my second screen. Everything seemed benign, but I jacked up something. Now my phone keeps displaying "Unfortunately, second screen has stopped." Thanks!
Do you have a Nandroid of your install or backups of any of your apps through TiBackup?
Non rooted with no backup
No.
What model do you have?
Just use one of the unbricking methods here on xda to reflash stock rom and you should be fine. Use LG UP to flash the latest kdz.

In had this happen many times tweaking things through adb. Never did figure out what I did to disable the screen. I found a simple factory reset fixed it. Assuming your are not rooted and just forced an uninstall of apps via Adb.
I had this happen (on VS995 i.e. Verizon non-rooted on Oreo) after I used adb to uninstall the 3 weather packages (com.lge.sizechangable.weather, platform & theme.optimus) since I don't use the weather widget. Reinstalling from the original apk files fixed the problem; they were listed as Weather, Weather Service (this one fixed it) and Weather Theme. So my guess is one of the packages you uninstalled. I tried disabling them first but couldn't, thus the uninstall. Couldn't reinstall through adb but just running the apk install once I found where they were hiding in the file system fixed me up. Argh!
