Snapchat working on Locked bootloader with xposed and super su - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Guides, News, & Discussion

This is just to inform the community that there is a way to get snapchat, and maybe other apps, working with root/Xposed and a locked bootloader
Step 1) install safestrap
Step 2) turn off/uninstall Xposed, uninstall all system mods (such as liveboot), unstall super su via unsu.zip (can be found by simple search on xda and flashed via safestrap.
Step 3) (not sure if required just what I did) uninstall snapchat if you have it installed, clear data on Google play store, play services and play services for instant apps.
Step 4) reinstall snapchat though Google play, login.
Step 5) without logging out boot back into safestrap and reinstall super su (I use the 2.79 zip from chainfire as the 2.82 is made by a Chinese company and freezes on partycyborg for s8.
Step 6) reboot and enable/ reinstall Xposed and your system mods if you wish. You will stay signed into Snapchat until you sign out.
Step 7) Enjoy
Tested on SM-G950U AT&T running partycyborg samfail.

yes its been known

Definitely already known. It's usually said to log into snapchat while root/xposed is disabled. Not a long drawn out process. Just disable xposed and root, reboot, log in, reenable.

I can't get snapchat to work even with the rootcloak

It wont let me login at all on my rooted XT1575 with TruPureXMM and FranklenClark kernel.
You need to uninstall xposed, login then reflash xposed.

uninstall xposed as in using uninstaller.zip file via recovery. Then log into snapchat, once you login, you can flash xposed again. just be sure to never log out of snapchat, or else you will have to do this process again.
You can install snapchat on a virtual machine or android emulator (like bluestacks, nox), log in, and then use the option for root. Do a backup of the app in Titanium Backup and transfer the backup to your phone. After this, you can uninstall the emulator, but without log off snapchat.
Ugh I just went through this whole process, never have I installed xposed(didn't have a need for it) but when updating to the stock, rooted 6.0.1 ROM I had to use another device for a while, and got kicked off on the pure. It took 2 hours to figure out, even started changing the password. Eventually figured to install xposed via zip, let the app fail a log in, go back into twrp, unistall xposed using zip, reboot and log into snapchat... I could've avoided all of this had I not changed the password and restored data from a backup file but didn't catch onto it in time.
TL;DR: install xposed > try to log in, it'll fail > uninstall xposed using zip > reboot > log into snapchat > make a titanium backup of the snapchat app to keep for the future

[HowTo] Pokemon Go on Rooted Phones (CM13/PaulPizz/Jasmine/Stock)

I know this is all over the place, but I thought I would bring it here just in case anyone hadn't found the answer. I have seen a few posts about this on Reddit and some other forums. This will obviously hinge on having the unlocked bootloader. You will also need a file explorer that lets you view root folders just in case you want to make sure the binaries have been delete.
What worked for CM13:
Install SuperSU and use it's unroot method which should delete all SU binaries in /system/bin and /system/xbin.
Install phh SU and Magisk manager.
Reboot to recovery
Install the Magisk v6 and PHH SU files.
Reboot system after clearing cache
Access Magisk Manager and toggle root, it should prompt PHH SU to ask about permissions.
I have read that this same method works for PaulPizz and Jasmine Rom as well. PaulPizz has Xposed preinstalled, so you have to run the Xposed uninstaller and remove the Xposed app. Follow instructions from the Xposed for Magisk thread to reinstall xposed if you require it.
If you want this with the Stock Verizon image, there is a link in the Stock Image thread on page 41 with the bootloader removed for safe upgrade. I will update the post with links to the appropriate threads later today.
Credit to all the devs involved with the Note 4 and Android in general.
The method you've described worked for me on 0.35 PoGo. Then 0.37 update I already had to rollback.
I'm using HTC One M8, rooted, pph and Magisk on stock Rom, systemless xposed.
Now the forced 0.39 version does not run, leaving me with me 'Failed to log in' text. Please guys, work on some help I put my trust in you
I'm on Paul pizz and when i follow the instructions I can get full unroot, everything flashed, but when I go into Magisk manager I am not prompted for anything and if I hit the toggle for root it just toggles itself back. It appears that even after removing the super.su from system in twrp that I still can't get it to install.
I have also removed Xposed with the uninstaller and tibu to remove the APk. I can get systemless Xposed to install and work but not systemless root.
Any ideas?

I'd it's still detecting root, the su binaries haven't been removed completely. Also check that magisk toggles off root.

If you have xposed active, it may not allow you to toggle root off. You have to go to system less and deactivate and then reboot. Then turn off root in magisk. It's the only way I found to get it to work.

Snapchat on LG V20 rooted and TWRP unlocked device

Hello,
Right now I'm having the biggest issue with Snapchat, I've read numerous posts that say that if your phone is rooted or you have XPosed framework installed then Snapchat will not allow you to login, this is the issue I'm having.
I don't have a backup either of the latest data and app of Snapchat to put it on my phone and Titanium Restore it.. Or else I would have done this first.
I don't have Xposed installed (app) but I'm not sure about the framework? How do I check, or remove it in case I do have it installed? I faintly remember installing it.
Is there any alternative to allow me to login to Snapchat?
Thanks!
Download the latest super user zip file.. Lets say you know how to reboot to twrp.
*First of all open the super user app and go to the setting and unroot it.
*It would ask you to confirm it, after that a new screen will pop up, cancel it has to with wiping all super user and recovery files.
*So make sure you get the superuser from xda latest..then put it on your sd card or internal memory.
*Do not flash it yet.
*Unroot and reboot the phone, then login to snapchat. It should be successful.
*Reboot to twrp and flash the zip file
Good luck
This worked, thank you!!!
You could also use a root hider or switcher, such as magisk, and not have to switch and do reboots each time

P10 lite and magisk (14)

Hey!
It's great we finally got our own lite forum
I had an update to version (WAS-LX1C432)B182 yesterday. Only way to install it on my device was by official update and full package. Of course i had to unlock bootloader, install twrp and root again afterwards.
Magisk is running fine so far. I can, however, not pass safetynet check. How about you guys, any experiences?
I tried disabling and enabling magiskhide, core mode only, new busybox installation and enabling log settings but haven't been lucky so far. Btw, is it normal that one always has to enable logging after every restart?
I recently updated to WAS-LX1C432B182 via official (full) update package. This was the only way i was able to update, which means I had to re-unlock bootloader, install TWRP (3.1.1.), root my phone with magisk and restore my phone. I am finally passing safetynet (For now! ). To make it work I have to enable logging (*#*#2836579#*#*) and restarte magiskhide (terminal!) after every reboot. Google also says I'm certified. The only thing RootBeer Sample detects is the magisk busybox binary module.
Chur to you, you I rooted my phone with TWRP first, and then installed Superuser, but I did it all with the command prompt administrator on the I've only really work with Samsung before and that was quiet might drawn out sort of different way to go about it. What's your opinion all this s***

Fix safety net issue after magisk install ?

Hi. I have a safety net issue after following the rooting tutorial on this post. (to be precise, safety net was fine, i got the issue when i tried to install edexposed)
I've got a "cts profile mismatch".
I tried to get rid of it, uninstall magisk, wipe system, but it's still there.
I would like to try to make a factory reset using an ota file, but i can't find my version of the system.
I was on SKYW1907110OS00MP3 and i updated to SKYW1911010OS00MP5. Does someone have a factory ota update.zip for one of this two version ?
There is the MagiskHide Props Config module ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-magiskhide-props-config-t3789228 ) for fixing this kind of issue, but there is no build-in fingerprint for the blackshark 2.
I tried to get one within an OTA file, but i can't find it.
I really don't know if i can do a << adb push stock_boot_b.img /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/boot_b >> to restore the unpatched version of my rom or if that will brick my phone (or maybe do nothing to solve my issue)
If anyone have an idea, it would be great. Thanks.
Flashing the stock boot image of the ROM currently installed in your device will not cause bootloop. Tried and tested.
To pass Safetynet, you don't need to flash MagiskHide Props Config module. It doesn't really make your device pass Safetynet at all.
To pass Safetynet with EdXposed, follow these steps:
1. Make sure you enable Magisk Hide in the Magisk app.
2. Rename your Magisk package (optional - for banking apps).
3. Flash the latest EdXposed module from this repo: https://ci.appveyor.com/project/ElderDrivers/edxposed/history (the EdXposed in the Magisk app is outdated, and it breaks Safetynet), and the latest EdXposed Manager here: https://github.com/ElderDrivers/EdXposedManager
4. Go to EdXposed Manager's settings and enable App List mode and Pass SafetyNet options, then reboot your device.
Now, the trickiest part (sort of):
5. Clear Google Services Framework, Google Play services, and Google Play Store's data, then check for Safetynet. Sometimes, it still fails after your first attempt so just repeat this step until it passes Safetynet.
That's all. All of these worked 100% on my CN-converted-to-Global Black Shark 2 device. Hope it will work on yours, too.
Woot, thanks a lot, i will try that right away.
