Hi there Abby, would you mind explaining to a noob how you managed to charge it so quick, it took me 4 hours to get 90% today with the stock charger. How do I get it to make use of quick charge

Nothing . Whenever I buy a new mobile I deplete its battery to 0% so that it turns OFF itself and then plug it to charger till it is 100% and then switch it ON .
Repeat this cycle 2-3 times and hopefully you'll be good to go.

Nex has AI based Battery charging mathod.
When you charge this in day time it takes less time to charge compare to charging at night time.
My Nex Charged from 10 to 100 in 45 to 60 mins depends on interval in between charging.
At night it takes more then 60 mins ..

Check the where to buy thread around page 30...someone explained that the Nex got shipped with a charger that doesn't support fast charging(picks included). Also, as I understand, when it fast charges it makes some kind of an animation..like a thunder..on the screen. Good luck

I purchased mine in India. I have to use a type-B plug adapter. Vivo told me they don't manufacture a type-B charger. There is no after-market charger that will support fast charge.
When you plug into fast charge the charging icon turns yellow and spins faster. It also says "dual core fast charging"

I measured the charging time today on the turned off screen.
0-30% 15min
0-50% 25min
0-70% 35min
0-90% 60min
0-100% 1h 25min
I sorry for my English, I use Google Translate.

The simple answer is your cable. Assuming the charging brick you're using is fast charge or from Vivo, it's the CABLE that truly dictates the charging speed.
You need a 28/24 gauge bound cable. When you buy cables, they're not all created equally. I have tested this with another fast charge brick and a purchased 28/24 gauge wire cable and it activates the quick-charge function on the phone. Any other combination of cables that are non 28/24 gauge and you can't fast charge with the phone.
So to summarize:
-charging source needs to be the fast charge brick from Vivo or another fast charge capable brick charger
-You NEED a 28/24 gauge cable, no other type will work with fast charge

I asked Vivo in Facebook about how to charge my phone and they told me that its better to net let your phone be charged from 0-20% but higher than that . and you shouldnt play while the phone charging , also if its a brand new , when you unbox it its not reccomended to wait the battery to die and then to charge it to 100 % cause its allready been activated (the battery).

Check my previous post. While it is maybe true, most new age lithium ion batteries are built with decent to sufficient resistance to memory half life.
The real key is exactly as I explained in my post, in that it really has to do with the charging block and more importantly be cable gauge size. Most places don't sell 28/24 gauge cables as their primary USB cable type, C, micro, etc.
So remember:
-Need fast-charge brick (original or other)
-NEED 28/24 gauge, type doesn't matter so long as it's that gauge
Meet those requirements and you'll have fast-charge on this or any other capable device.

Why does Battery take eternity for some to charge? I think...

Like many of you guys, I have custom built my own PC. Yeah, it's a little outdated with a Q6600 but it will do for a good year or two more. Good thing I bought a Quad Core. But anyways, getting back to topic, you guys should realize that the Power Output of the front two USB ports are not the same as the USB ports that are in the back. This is a fact as far as my system is concerned. I know because I use a Lacie External drive which will only power on with the rear USB ports.
If you charge the SGS with the included wall charger, it will charge up in about 4 hours. When I leave it on my front USB port, I would wake up in the morning only to find it 60-70 percent full.
PS - I am amazed by the battery of this thing. Here is the break down. I fully charged by 1am. Took it off... then started using it quite a bit till around 3am ish. When I went to bed, the charge was at 72 percent. I work up 6 hours later and guess what, it was at 69 percent. Pretty neat.
The USB 2.0 only requires that a motherboard provides 150mA to a single port (& 500mA to 5 ports). Where as a chargers don't conform to this standard and provides a much higher charge, which charges your battery much quicker.
Only use USB if you have nothing esle.
The wall charger that came with the SGS is a 700mA. I just ordered a 1000mA wall and car charger.
The more I use this phone the more I am amazed by it. The Battery life on this thing is really great. It's already been close to 12 hours (11:30) and the battery is now finally at 49%
I've used this phone quite a bit and the battery held up really well. I used Let's Golf, Navigation, Armored Strike, Calls, Texts, Gmail... Good stuff.
So your telling me if i get a charger with more mA it will charge faster? Where can i get a bigger mA charger.
I don't know, but my battery charges fast as hell. It goes up about 5% in 20 minutes.

It will do neither.
read this. Gives some basics on Li-ion batteries. link
Essentially these batts can and should be charged at 1C c=capacity. Our batts are 1500mA so we could and should charge at 1500mA.
Slower charging is fine but these batteries rely on circuitry recognizing a drop in voltage to turn the charge off, or down to a lower current as to not damage the battery. If you charge at a higher rate the drop in voltage is more obvious than with a lower voltage and harder to miss thus less chance of an overcharge and battery damage. Added bonus is the battery charges quicker
Over charging is the killer of batteries. Overcharge occurs more from circuitry missing a change in voltage and failing to terminate.
Hope this helps.

If you were an engineer and could save the company one cent, how would you do it? That was about one cent worth of cooper in the charger times ten million devices.you just made your year end bonus.
A dedicated chip inside the phone regulates the battery charge.

Its obvious you didn't even bother reading 6 POSTS up. This thread isn't even a full 2 pages, stop being lazy.
So I bought my car charger (cigarette adapter + separate usb cable) from
"Mono Price".
Specs:
PID:3523 Car Charger (Cigarette Lighter) to USB Female Converter - Black
PID:5139 USB 2.0 A Male to Micro 5pin Male 28/28AWG Cable - 10ft
Very weird thing is happening, instead of charging my phone it drains it .
The battery icon moves back and forth as if it is charging but it drains my battery relativity fast.
5 mins using the car charger I lost 25% of battery life .
Does anyone know why this is happening ?

From mathematical standpoint 30 mins for 0-100% is impossible with 18W charger, let me make it a bit clear
It has a 3.800mAh battery or 3.8Ah for short, which means if it had a 5v 3.8A charger it would take 1 hour if the charger and delivery system(cable+chips inside phone etc) were delivering 100% efficiency. Now 5v 3.8A is 19W charger. For half an hour we need 5v 7.6A or 38Watt.
According to Quick charge which is present in this phone it can be charged at 9v 2A or 18W, so even if the phone has 100% efficiency it would take a bit more than 1 hour to complete 0-100% but because each system can't deliver 100% efficiency calculate to 1hr and 1-20 mins give or take
P.S. half an hour, wish but ain't possible unless we have 9v 4.2A charging with 100% efficiency(or 5v 7.6A if you prefer) - Still going to get this phone soon(if price drops to my desire)

Yes OnePlus 3T, 5T does not work.
Also I was charging N7+ from 18% via LG V20's Charger and it got overheated and started malfunctioning. But thankfully there was a circuit breaker and protection circuit in LG's Charger which saved it. Device is working fine too. Now I am using the nokia charger provided in the box as none are working.

So that means if something happens to the current charger provided with the phone, we will have to buy a Nokia branded charger and cable or there would be issues. Hmm

Yes, i use mine from a tablet at 5v and 1.5A. You can use any charger if it is 5v or if it is turbopower o fastcharge.
I also use my old LG's charger. 5v @1.8A. Im not really that into charging speed. One thing i noticed is that on both chargers when reaching 100% it says charged but still charges for another 15minutes before the charging icon (flash) disappears from the screen. Has anyone else noticed this?

I have done some testing.
With QC 2.0 (my old Motorola Turbo charge 15) I charge phone from 20% to 90% with rate 65%/hour (1 hour and 10 minutes time)
With QC 3.0 (charger and cable from original Chinese packaging) I charge phone form 30% to 87% with rate 95%/hour (40 minutes)
I think this scenario is common for most users when they need to charge phone in hurry.
Later I will add also charging rate for quick wireless charger included in box and maybe also some QC 4.0+ if I get my hands on some.
In my case, I bought a PD3.0 charger from Aukey and my Mi Mix 3 is charging from 0% to 100% in 1h08 !
In fact after a few research I found that Power Delivery Technology is compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge because Quick charge is working with Power Delivery and add a few security technology, but power delivery already have some.
Nevermind, I tested it and indeed My PD3.0 charger (max 15V and 3A) with a anker cable wich support up to 5A is working faster than the QC3 charger !
I suppose a QC4.0 should be better, but for now I think PD3.0 is the best solution !
I second @romain1672...I've converted all my chargers to USB-PD since I've divested from non-USB-C devices and my Mi Mix 3 flies with them.
I believe the wireless charging is relatively slow, think one review said three hours for full charge? But that's expected to be honest.
I've heard it said that slow charging is better for battery life, so in effect, wouldn't the wireless charger be better than cabled, if you're not pressed for time?
It took me exactly 1h45 to charge from 17% to 100% with the wireless charger. It's pretty fast for a wireless charger, but the only issue is that it heats lot of more than wired, and i read somewhere that heat isn't good for battery health.
Hi guys, I just bought the Razer Phone charger (it's the only one I could get quickly with Quick Charge 4.0+ in the UK). Not the most scientific of tests, but it went from 30% to 87% in 30 mins. I tested from 30% again today with a Quick Charge 3 charger and in 30 minutes it made it to 80%.
Sorry I didn't run from 0-100%, I can probably test that more easily this weekend if people are interested?
Fast enough that for the first time since owning a smart phone I never have to think about looking for a charge, even when travelling.
Does anyone know of any wireless chargers/charging stands that charge the mix 3 as fast as the included one? I've tried a couple I had with previous phones and they just charge so much slower
This charger is becoming annoying.
I place my phone on the puck by my bed. Sometimes, before falling asleep, I hear the sound indicating charge stopping.
Then, in the morning I find my phone has moved off the puck. And it is not me! The phone slips away if not perfectly aligned centrally on the puck. It is not surprising as the induction forces between the puck and phone will be opposing but the manufacturer should have spotted this and made the puck/phone with more friction between them.

Bro, I use my brothers Samsung Wireless Charger "EP-NG930" from his S8. Google it to see it. I can't post a pic of it since I leave it in the office but underneath it is rated at 9V 1.67A (15W)
I must say it charges pretty much the same, if not, faster than the included one since it has a built-in noiseless fan behind the coils

Not the absolute fastest around, but damn sure not the slowest... especially when you consider how much further every 1% of battery will take you on this phone compared to other phones in its class. Fast charging kills batteries anyways, so I charge slowly most of the time since I'm always around a plug these days. I really wish I had this phone back in 2011 when I lived on a bicycle and was always on the road away from home and/or power. My only other gripe is that I wish there was a software switch to turn off fast charging like Samsung offered. Sometimes I only have a fast-charge enabled charger around, but would prefer a slow charge.

I don't slow charge in the traditional sense, but I use a QC 3.0 charger for the same reason. It maxes out at 3A to the battery, or 0.6C charge rate. It's still plenty fast, but slow enough relative to battery capacity that it doesn't stress the battery much and no need to worry about turning a setting off in the phone.
Im using 25w adapter PD to charge V60, charging speed is too slow, need above 3hours from 10-100.
Checking battery in hidden menu, saw charong current max is 1,7A, usually lower.
Normal adapter give me same speed (like a cheap samsung fast charge adapter).

Yes, I have with genuine A71 charger ( already in use with my A71 ). Huge difference then this supplied 15w one.
I never let my phone to go to 0% as it effects battery life. Usually get it charge from 15 to 100% and it takes exactly an hour .
15w (supplied in the box) does the same in 1 hour and 50 mins approx...
Highly recommended to have a 25w original one... ( There are lots of copy versions in the market which are of no use as they charge on same slow speeds).
To verify, its simple that it will show "super fast charge" and the copy version will show only "Fast charge" which is not fast by any standards....
Mine from 1% to 100% takes about 115 minutes
about 1hr to go 40-100 on a 60w laptop usb c brick
With 25w charger it charges 18-20% in 10 minutes.
It's decent but I do miss the dash charge from my one plus.
