Hello I recently reset my smartphone (Honor 6X) and when I wanted to access the Safe Box he asks me the code I had put a year and a half ago and the question supposed to help me remember code does not help me, I try all the possibilities. I would like to know if there is a way to access this content (photos and videos) with an application or software that could decrypt these files stored on my SD card?
Thank you in advance

Hey everyone, I'm an idiot and completely forgot I encrypted the files on my SD Card. I installed a new ROM and now the images I previously had on the memory card are not able to be read by any software and the phone. My guess is, is that the encryption I had prior to flashing the new ROM has encrypted the file to where I can't even view them. Is there anyway to reverse this process? I know it defeats the whole prupose of encryption, but these pictures are important to me since they were pictures of my nephews at my cousin's wedding. I know they wouldn't be the greatest quality images, but I would still love to have them back. Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated

Well, I have a feeling that you are out of luck here. Usually, encryption works with two keys: one at the source and one with the application that did the encryption. These keys are randomly generated. Since you wiped out the original ROM (and the encryption program and (probably) the 2nd key along with it), you are probably screwed. Sorry - wish I had better news. Now, there are special programs and stuff that break cryptography, and I don't know how secure the encryption with WM is, but that is probably not a practical solution. Sorry.
Well, that wasn't what I wanted to hear, but I feel it is the truth and accurate. I appreciate the response and explanation, thanks. Damnit, with my urgency to have the newest ROM, i lost some great pictures of family, oh well.
This is by design. The unique encription key is created during cold boot following a hardreset.

Ouch!!!!What a bummer
I almost did this with data on a PC which I sold last week. Copied files and tried opening them on my laptop. Luckily I still had the PC to unencrypt my FLICKS...LOL
Oops, that just reminds me I had an encrypted NTFS folder on the PC I upgraded to Vista last week (clean install). Usually never use that thing...
Meh, fortunately it was only an outdated copy of a folder I have on the main PC. But yeah, haven't even checked it, but there won't be any chance there either.
Fortunately I didn't encrypt my SD, as my phone now will just hang upon boot after I installed some program that screws up when loading the Today plugin. Hard reset in the way I guess... is there no safe boot in WM6?
Hi,
I Would like to Root My Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant. Currently It is upgraded to Froyo (build Number: FROYO.UVKB5), which i did via mini kies on June.
By Default the set was network locked and i Unlocked it from a store.
I would like to know how can i root the device without hassling too much.
Will i lose all my content of phone if i root it?
When i got the set, it was network unlocked; but after master resetting it was stuck into VIBRANT Screen, that's why i gave it to a store and they unlocked it.
I am unsure whether the device will be brick again if i root it.
I have checked the noob guide thread, But my confusion is I already have a Folder on my internal SD Card called update (1.7mb) & a folder called Vibrant_AOSPish_JK2_v1.1 (156mb). See attached snapshot
I installed titanium backup application, but its saying it required ROOT access.
Would appreciate if anyone can suggest me a way to resolve it
Thanks in advance
use SuperOneClickv1.7 and you will be fine.
I have edited my post. Will it work though?Could u please check the attached snapshot
root has nothing to do with what folders you have on your Vibrant. You can delete everything there if you want and still root your phone.
Thanks Man..It Worked
Hallo everyone,
to unlock the bootloader on the P8 lite is a individual code necessary and I'm asking me, if is possible to change the code. Has everyone information about the encryption methods of the Stock bootloader? I'm currently waiting for my code to unlock the bootloader and root the device.
Thanks and best regards,
Pucciano
We mentioned a few times before, you don't have to wait for the response. I sent my email to them about 1 month ago, still no reply.
This is only works for the ALE-L21 model, by the way:
Get this program, and extract it somwehere, then open it.
In the program, select HUAWEI C8812 and enter your IMEI. It'll give you a Product ID. Copy that ID.
Now open this site, and fill it out:
-Type: Smart Phone
-Model: HUAWEI C8812
-Serial: Settings->About phone->Status scroll to bottom.
-IMEI: Settings->About phone->Status scroll to bottom.
-Product ID: the one, you've generated a moment ago.
-Verification code: as shown on the picture.
Thats it. You should get your code instantly, if your press Submit.
I know, but for the online tool is a mobile Account necessery and don't work with an email regretted Huawei ID. And only a couple of Asia country's ar supported. I try some free SMS receive services but there numbers are consumed (only two codes in 6 months) I have to wait if one of them get free or order an Hong Kong prepayed SIM card. But my question is, it's possible to change the code or bypass it? Thanks
I wasn't able to register either, but the social login via Facebook works just fine. Give it a shot login with your Google+ or Facebook account, it should let you in.
Okay, i don't know that's possible with an Social media account. I try this today's evening. Back to my core question: If I get the Code, if is possible to change it?
Thanks Ante
I think it's not possible to change it without unlocking your phone at least once, but after unlocking, you'll not need the code again, so there's no point in changing the code at all.
The bootloader will remain unlocked, and I haven't found a way to relock it again.
I tried these commands:
Code:
fastboot oem lock 16digit_code_here
AND
fastboot oem relock 16digit_code_here
Sadly non of them worked.
Okay, i copy that but I think it`s sounds bad. I only open the bootloader of an device to root it or to install a custom ROM. After I finished my work I close it to prevent hijacking or bypass my device encryption keys. Btw I have only use nVidia Shield Tabs and there are Dev friendly. At the point when you open the bootloader all data is wiped! Is this on all Huawei device? I think I looking for a new device. The new Lumia 950 sounds good, but Windows? I hope there are possible to open the bootloader and install Android with an custom Kernel ?
For bussiness use I only recommend Microsoft phones or iPhones. These are well protected all round, almost with no customization options and the system works so well by default you don't even need it at all.
For personal use, I recommend Android. The most customizable OS nowadays.
As I said, my bootloader is unlocked, and I was afraid to lose all my data as well, but everything was in place after the unlock.
The Huawei crew is pretty developer friendly, I think. They put out the kernel sources, made the bootloader unlockable via the site(yes, it's not fully functional, but hey )
I've had a S3 mini before this and we had to beg for Samsung to release some drivers in order to get CM11 working fully.
I don't trust Microsoft in this case. A whole OS for free as a upgrade? Come on, realy? There are much more behind the scene as you and i can see. Windows 10 talk a lot with unknowen Servers. Try it yourself: Install Win 10 as a VM, disable all settings in the privacy settings and capture all with Wireshark. You see a lot of encrypted connections to unknowen (by RIPE, not Microsoft) IP addresses. Apple earn his profit with selling hardware, Google with seling Ads based on user Data and Microsoft with seling Software. I like the hardware of the 950, but it be only usefull for me when i can install any linux based operating system.
But enough oftopic
I have give away my Huawei P8 lite and looking around for a new one, but out there is not "my perfect" device.
I remember, reclosing and changing bootloader code are (currently) not possible.
Thanks for the conversation daviddosa
Hi all,
First of all - forgive me if the subject has been up before - I did a bit of searching, but could't really find much about the subject.
I'm generally very pleased with the Mi A1 (my 4th "main" android phone after HTC Desire, SGS3 & OPO) but one thing that is giving me a bit of grief is this thing with access to my sd card, more precisely with copying content to the card by using different apps like root explorer, dropbox, dropsync pro etc.
Two very common actions in my usage are:
- Start an ftp-server on the phone and push new episodes of whatever tv-series I'm watching for the moment from computer to phone
- Open root explorer in my phone and copy stuff from my Dropbox folder to my phone (and back)
Neither of these actions can be done in my A1 (stock Oreo). The phone actually give the appearance of giving me the option to choose the sd-card but when trying to actually transfer something there it get's stuck before finishing or just return an error when trying.
So my question is - to get back to actually having rights to transfer stuff to my SD card without any problems, which of the below options would be the "easiest":
1. Does this work if I downgrade to Nougat?
2. Would rooting be enough if I stay on Oreo?
3. Can I transfer more freely with LOS 15.x?
4. Other options?
I actually found one thread mentioning this as a problem in stock Oreo so I know I'm not alone with the problem.
Thanks in advance,
/gosa
Hi,
Found this when searching Google for solutions this problem.
At the moment my only way of getting files onto the memory card is to download them to the internal storage and then using "Stock" file manager to copy them to the memory card... A bit to many steps if you ask me.
I was thinking that rooting might solve it but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Here one more with the same problem. I have the My A1 in ROM Stock Oreo 8 with root via magisk, and it is tedious and annoying not to be able to write to the external SD. I use ADM, apps for downloads Torrent, Solid Explorer.
Having Root I had the opportunity to try several possible solutions. Here some of them (note: none worked, nor resolved) I expose them in case someone else wants to try, possibly something will work for them.
Root ??????
SDFix: KitKat Writable MicroSD. (Developed by NextApp)
Magisk Modules??????
App Systemizer
ExSDCard Access Enabler
Xposed ??????
Marshmallow SD fix
KitKat SD Card Full Access (Caution: gives many errors in OS)
Handle External Storage
One way to take it with Solid Explore (it's more visual than the Stock Explorer):
* Solid Explorer, to paste or write to SD, always go to Root / mnt / media_RW / SD Card
As I mentioned. None of the above worked for me.
The only way to solve the problem momentarily is to download and use the apps all in the internal memory, with the stock file explorer moving the files to the external SD in a step later.
If someone can give light to this problem or a possible solution I will be very grateful.
*(sorry for my English)
Have you tried binding folder/creating softlink
Could you explain how it is done? Or inform about the subject.
Just got 8.1 and the problem is gone.
Hello everyone! I had an LG G6 (Sprint), and I had some locked files on the SD card. The phone started giving me the "moisture in charging port" error, and Sprint/Asurion decided to just replace the phone with another brand new G6. I put my SD card in the new G6, and when I try to view the locked files, I get the message "This file is locked by another Google account and cannot be opened". I am logged in with the same exact Google account that I was on my old phone... So what do I need to do to be able to recover my locked files???
Thanks in advance!
If it's photos in your gallery you can use this to bypass the lock thing
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=you.love.v10.hidden.settings
Unfortunately, most of the settings in that V10 app (including the gallery) say something like "This feature is not available for your device".
