Battery Interconector Pin Configuration - Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Questions & Answers

As we all know, batteries of a modern smartphone such as the Mi Note 2 are using battery interconnectors plugged on the mainboard to supply power and thermal statistics to the motherboard.
Well one day I had the idea to trash the battery and use a laboratory PSU, and later a custom bcd, to power my phone instead. I know that some of you are thinging "why whould anyone do such a stupid thing?!", don't worry I'll answer this question at the end of this post.
Anyways the problem is that I have no idea about following things:
1. In which order to read the pin config?
1 2 3 or 1 3 5
4 5 6 /\ 2 4 6
2. Which potential needs to be at each pin, sure P+ = 2200mV and P- = -2200mV but I have no idea on what to do with T, ID, and J1.
I couldn't find any documentation for battery interconnectors configurations on Google whatsoever, so I am here asking and hoping you guys are smarter than the world wide web.
That's it, in case you're interested in what the heck am I doing to my phone: The display of my Mi Note 2 broke and I - for various reasons - have already bought a new Mi Mix 2. Having no other use for the phone I completely disassembled it, 3D printed me a custom case to hold the components (at a friend's), and made a custom copper cooling block for the motherboard (using the CNC machine of a local company) which I solded onto an older PC cooler I had laying around. Using a USB-C dongle my phone's hooked up to an display and got some regular USB ports. Now the problem I have is, that I cannot charge my phone while providing display output, so I want to replace the battery with a live power supply.

Here are photos of the problem child

Dude... I have no idea of how solving your problem and I hope you made it somehow. Just wanted to ask if you still around if you have any idea what model of battery is. My own is giving me around 5 hours (3 years old) and I was thinking about buying a new one from China (I know, perfect time to do that). Would you recommend that?

@GSaraza,
hello! I had to change my MI Note 2 Battery. It`s from 2016 Manufactored to a younger one from 2018.
The "old" Battery are not Bad, if you want it write a PM.

Battery issue and possible replacement?

Short version: I'm looking at getting a Galaxy Tab 10.1 on Verizon which has a battery issue. According to the current owner, the battery only holds a 20% charge. My question is twofold. One, is there any chance this is a software or battery calibration problem that is fixable? The GT 10.1 seems a bit young for the battery to actually have worn down to that point.
Two, assuming it's not fixable, does anyone here have experience with replacing the battery? I've looked over the teardowns, and seen the type of battery pack it uses, but I haven't seen direct replacements available on eBay.
It's still under warranttee, why not have Samsung fix it?
Agree with Tabguy. Verizon version of the 10.1 tab is young in the tooth so I would think that if there was an issue with the device hardware wise the warranty would cover that. That the owner is selling it despite this is concerning IMO. If it were me selling it I'd at least go through the effort of having it serviced under warranty so as to not pass the problem on to someone who wouldn't be able to fix it. Perhaps they are a 2nd owner though.
From what I know, the Verizon version of the tab also hasn't had any custom ROMs that would have messed with the battery requiring calibration. I own one of these tabs and have flashed a few things including AOKP builds with no impacts to battery calibration. So unless the owner flashed something that us other Verizon owners haven't it's unlikely a calibration issue.
Just a heads up that the Verizon version differs on ROM support so right now you're stuck on Honeycomb 3.2 at best if you need LTE data until the ICS build is released by Samsung/Verizon or a developer develops the LTE modem support for the ICS builds floating around. If you don't need LTE data right now you're better off getting a wifi tab and passing on this one.
They may well be the second owner, I'm not sure. It's disappointing that the warranty doesn't follow the tab. But still, if it is fixable it'd be a great deal.

definitely is fixable...i opened mine up and its just removing some screws and a cable and popping the new one in...now just to find a battery
EDIT: FOUND IT FOR YOU! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-SP...701630?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2eba3799be
Gotta love this forum!
Indeed. Now sounds like an opportunity for him to grab a tab on the cheap and repair the battery himself. I'd lowball the price and see if the owner takes it.
Okay, so I got my hands on this thing. I haven't extensively tested it's battery capacity yet, but that's mostly because it came without the Samsung charger, just the standard USB cable. Without the Samsung 2 amp USB charger, even charging off a 1 amp supply it's nearly impossible to charge the thing. I left it plugged in for 24 hours and it's still only up around 75%. Which actually makes me wonder if that was the previous owner's problem, that they were charging it off a low current source which wasn't able to really supply the battery.
Either way, I need a 2 amp USB power supply. Does anyone happen to know if a generic one will do just as well, or is the Samsung charger wired specially for the GTab?
Sooo.... it's looking more and more like the former owner of this thing was simply a moron. And I'm not saying that just because he didn't even bother to delete his GMail account, password, and browser history of black porn and online gambling before selling the tablet to me.
Connected to a low-amperage charger, it managed to trickle-charge up to 98% before I unplugged it and started playing. That was a little over two hours ago, and two hours of solid use on Verizon 3G later, it's declining at a steady 10% per hour. So absent anything else ridiculous happening, I'm pretty much ready to call this a case of PEBKAC.

Before buying a second original Samsung 2A charger on occasion I have used a friend's "generic" 2A charger while away from home (the stock one is behind furniture and connected to the Samsungh desktop dock and was too much hassle to get), so a "generic" 2A one will do but seeing as it's not that easy to find good 2A ones and seeing that the Samsung original one is cheap enough I would simply buy an original charger (which IIRC also comes with a USB cable which may come handy).
(Availabilities and prices refer to Italy, the situation may of course be different where you live)

Galaxy S5 G900F - Overheating when charging / Battery drain / HELP ME

Hi Guys,
Hope of you experts can give me some tips because at this moment I can't afford to buy new phone so...
My Galaxy S5 is showing big issues to me, when its powered off and plug in to charger (wirelles DIY charging + and - to wireles charging pins on phone with using original Samsung charger, my charge port isn't working so this is my last resort, please don't judge me I simply can't afford new phone ) It bercomes really hot. Also when I power it on it becomes hot too (around 47celsius) and battery drains fast. In past I didn't have this problem, yes it was charging really slow but at the end when it reach 100% my battery lasts for two days (using greenify, and with all low settings) ...problems started two days ago. Bad thing is I can't connect it to Odin and make factory reset to stock rom so I wipe all and install fresh custom rom (XxX no limits, full debloated) from my SD card, but problem is not gone. I check out battery on my table and it is ok (also battery condition says: good).
What I can feel is not that battery is geting hot but cpu. So is there any chance to fix that? I already try several apps but with no luck
Maybe you guys can give me some tip like how to back to stock rom (and kernel) but with install from SD card as I can't acces Odin because of bad charging port....or any other tip is more than welcome as I can't afford new or used phone and S5 is still big thing for me according to its performance and other things...please help...
Thank You!
nobody?
Replace the god damn daughterboard with the microUSB 3 port. It will be better than going further with your stupid "wirelles" charging idea which can damage the phone. Don't be that cheap. Earn more money. Why did you buy it if you can't afford to keep it running?

Hi dear friend, tnx for your kind reply,
Well... I got 16yo, don't have adress (you never know who is on the other side of the line and whats the story behind) to even order it from your family. I got this S5 as a gift from my mother who pass away last year. After spending some time with this fabulous phone (yes, I open it and reasamble even without heat gun )...I menage to fix it.
Everyone of us got that courious technician inside and lucky to me I go to technician high school so I know the basics of safety...etc.
Now I got almost new S5 (battery lasts for almost two days) fixed all by myself wich proves power of the will and quality of components that Samsung puts inside their phones.
Long live Android, Samsung and all other open source runned phones...also want to say special tnx for one high reputable person from this forum (he insist to stay anonymous) who encourage me on private msg to keep investigation as I refuse to recive his old android phone.
Sometime you gotta (or need) do DIY. <3 XDA ...Keep it going! <3

How can I break my snapdragon note 3?

So I'm gonna be blunt, I have a Galaxy note 3 bought in 2014, got an extended warranty which expires on February 16. This extended warranty says that if my device breaks and cannot be repaired in 5 working days, they will replace the phone with a new one, same model or another phone of similar value.
I've already done this with 2 tablets, a Galaxy note 10.1 and a Nexus 10 tablet (from samsung as well), both of them had a broken USB port after around 3 years and weren't charging at all.
I planned to do this as well with my note 3, but the darn thing won't break. I tried keeping it with display turned on at max brightness, charged 24/7 and running a cpu stress test. Was hoping for at least a screen burn in, but nothig, this phone runs as well as it did in the first day, even the battery is original but it's pretty deteriorated.
Anyone has any ideas how break this phone but make it look like it happened "naturally"? I was thinking of hard bricking it but didn't find anything conclusive on Google/xda.*
I'm pretty sure it won't last more then 5 years, might as well get some money for a new phone.

So what's dead / dying in my 6P

This happened to me today while browsing facebook.
My phone suddenly shut down. While trying to turn on, it would get to booting screen and then shut down again. It didn't loop - I had to try each time manually.
I cleared cache and reset it to factory settings to no avail. BUT once I got back home and managed to connect it to a charger (the battery was at estimated 90% capacity), everything runs smoothly. No shutdowns, no freezes - despite the phone getting warm. I stressed it quite a lot and it seems to hold, so I don't think this is related to the "bigger" CPU.
Could it possibly be a battery issue? Could my device be misreading the actual capacity of the battery?
As a sidenote: it did crash/shutdown once I disconnected the charger, but only after 20 minutes or so when I uninstalled a running at that time app.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated, so I have something to work with and replace stuff accordingly - and hopefully not the entire phone, as I love my 6P.
It seems like it has to be connected to the battery, as it has been now holding (presumably) at 56% charge for over 4 (!) hours. AccuBattery shows the same data as what the phone reads, and now it seems that my power drain is in negative without charging the phone.
Sadly, there are no original replacements available in my country. Only cheap 3550mAh knockoffs that sellers call OEM. They do have Huawei logo, but everyone knows that 3450mAh is the only original capacity (right?)
Update: Nearly 20 hours on the same displayed 56% capacity.
Any help? Please?
No, you are wrong. Those 3550mAh batterys are the brand new ones from huawei. Those are the newest revision of the battery. Dont get the 3450 ones. If the seller is really selling a 3450mAh one, then its probably one of the old ones with the known issues.

Thanks for the heads-up. Just out of curiosity - how do you know that? When I contacted Huawei support, they did not answer me whether the 3550mah bat is a genuine product, or a farce. They avoided that question until they force-closed my support ticket without a proper answer.
First: Because i bought one and informed myself before. Then the new battery ran better then ever before. Even better then when the nexus 6p was new. Its the new batch that is better then ever before.
Second: you can read more about this topic in the correct forum thread about that: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78453441&postcount=1023
The thickness of the cable does not matter that much. Something you can care about is the weight. But this is something you can check when you got the new battery and also took the old one out.
To have longer battery life dont use the original charger. Use max a 5V 2A one. For example from a older Samsung mobile phone. Those have good electrical efficiency.

Thanks again.
For the 3 years I've bee using my 6P I never had battery life issues. In fact, even now the battery is holding well, despite the stats showing that my battery might be dying.
I came to this forum section looking for feedback on what could possibly be going on with my phone presenting the issues I am having. I am no mobile tech unlike many of guys around here. I might budge then and hope that the local Huawei repair center in my city will be of more help than the official Huawei support.

Battery replacement

Hello,
I replaced battery on my phone 2 days ago and when i put to charge it go to 83% and stop, after disconnect cable and back again then continue few percent and need to repeat few times till reach 100%.
Someone knows what is the problem?
Thanks!
No idea what's happening, you could try to calibrate the battery (discharging until it shuts down automatically and then charge it till 100% with phone shut down), if this doesn't helps you should change that battery for another, an official one preferably.
Hope this helps you.
Already tried that.Full discharge, also i do hard reset and it's same.Only different thing is that not always charge to 83%,sometimes 86,sometims 96 etc.But never to full 100% with one charge. So you thin it's definitely bad battery?I don't know where to find original one.I purchase from amazon here in Germany.

They sell OEM stuff, you can tray ordering from them. Don't know if they will ship it to Germany.
Stupid batteries and regulations lmao.
They send me the new battery,i replaced again and again first changing is to 86% and say it's full charged.
I don't think that the problem is in battery,2 times 2 new battery and charge to same percentage.
Does anyone know what the problem may be?

Well, maybe charging port is faulty? I honestly don't know what else can cause issues apart from battery and charging port...
Hi, I'm experiencing exactly the same issue, but since I bought the replacement battery at a local shop and they installed it themselves, they replaced for another new battery twice, but the issue still continues.
Any luck solving it?
battery must be charged between 20% and 80% to preserve health.
Sure, but it's a brand new battery and therefore your comment doesn't reply apply here.
why want absolutely charge upper 80%, when it's not adviced!
Whether it's adviced or not, a battery should charge to 100%.
The shop replaced my battery 3 times and still doesn't fully charge, and more importantly, it does not last as long as it should. So I just want to know whether the issue might not be the battery.

Every aftermarket battery has this exact same issue. Buy OEM battery, it will charge fully and gives exact same backup as the new phone. I had also bought one from amazon India in march 2021 and it is giving very good backup.
Xiaomi has three vendors for the batteries:
1. Zhuahi Coslight Battery Co. Ltd.
2. Everup Battery India Pvt. Ltd.
3. Sunwoda Electronic Co. Ltd.
Mia1 and most of the redmi phones launched in 2018 or before comes with Zhuahi Coslight Battery and phones launched after 2018 comes with either sunwoda or everup battery. Everup is Xiaomi's new vendor for battery, specially for devices assembled in India.
You can go with battery from any of the above three vendors but I"ll recommend you to buy either zhuahi coslight or everup India because I have tested both. You can look at the attached image for your reference.
Sorry I don't have an answer to your battery issue but I'm looking for some help on how to open this damn phone. And you are obviously someone who has successfully opened yours. I have watched countless videos and I take out the sim and remove the two bottom screws. Then everyone seems to pop the back off with ease. I have a cellphone toolkit and it's just chewing my tools trying to pry this open. The bottom separates a little but I can't get anything else to pop. Any recommendations?

is there any alternative to dragontt for the battery? They couldn't send it to me due to battery shipping restrictions on chile and maybe their country and no matter how hard i search i haven't found any original battery for this phone this far...

One of your attached images is named VBCFT. What is this exactly? Is it a trusted supplier?
