Samsung Galaxy S7 and galaxy S7 edge have got official Android Nougat Beta release ,I've been using this release for about 7 days and I've decided to do
a detailed review to share with you my experience and to help you decide whether to use it as a daily driver or not.
The review is 7 parts
1-Installation
2-Performance
3-Sensors & GPS
4-Battery Life
5-Gaming Performance
6-Features
7-Bugs
1-Installation
you gonna need a windows PC , USB cable and make sure to download the latest ODIN version, All the links are available in the 2nd post
1-Backup all of your data to your PC or SD card cs this procedures will format your internal storage (My recommendation is to use smart switch to do the backup)
2-Make sure that your battery is more than 50 percent
3-turn off your device
4-enter the download mode by holding the power button+home button+volume down key
5-on your pc extract the firmware package(use Winrar or winzip) It will take some time according to your PC speed
6- You will find 4 files after the extraction process
7-Connect your device to the PC, Make sure to use the Stock cable
8-Open ODIn as administrator ( If ODIN doesn't recognize your device then you need to install USB driver for your device)
9-Now select BL and choose BL file , this is your bootloader file
10-Click AP and choose the AP file, This file will take up to 3 minutes to load so be patient.
11-click CP and select CP file , this is your modem
12-and at last click CSC and select CSC file , this is your country code.
13-hit start
-This process will take 3 to 4 minutes if you are using the Stock usb cable,The device will reboot in order to erase every thing in the internal storage then It will reboot again to start the installation process
Installation FAQ
1- will the installation affect the device warranty? no it won't ,cs it is
an official release from Samsung.
2-Can I downgrade to MM after upgrading to
Nougat? Yes you can
3-Can I Install Android nougat if I'm running Custom ROM?
Yes you can install it whatever custom ROM you have.
Installation Video
2-Performance
-For the first time on Samsung devices you can choose the performance profile you need -There are 4 profiles (normal which is the
default mode, Game,entertainment,and high performance)
-every profile has a different settings to give you the best performance according to your needs but you can modify those settings if you want. -Some of you will ask me if I noticed any changes between the 4 modes modes, and I'm gonna answer your question by doing a simple test
-I've done a benchmarking test using antutu APP While normal mode is active and the score is 90000
-Then I've done the same test while performance mode is Active and the score 130000 which is almost the same like MM
-If you want better performance then choose the performance mode but keep in mind that this will affect your battery life
-According to my experience while using the device in normal mode that everything running flawlessly and the device is very
responsive.
-RAM management is great , you can run more than 5 heavy APPs in the background and switch between them very fast and you also still able to run
more APPs at the same speed regardless how much RAM space you have.
3-Sensors and GPS
Sensors and GPS antenna are very important to your device , I've done sensors test and all the sensors responded very well
(accelerometer , Gyroscope, light sensor, Proximity sensor, etc) and I've never experienced any bugged sensors in the past 7 days
GPS antenna is perfect , It caches a 3D fix while indoor and the accuracy is very very good for navigation.
4-Battery Life
Battery life still the same like MM for me but keep in mind that the battery usage vary from user to another .
while using the device in Normal mode(Making calls, Playing light games, using Common APPs like what's APP telegram and Chrome) Over WIFI, I've got 24 hours on battery and more than 5 hours SOT which is almost the same for me on MM .
While using the device in performance mode (location enabled, using Google MAPs for navigation,Making voice calls over 2 hours) I've got 17 Hours on battery and 4 hours SOT which is also the same for me on MM while heavy usage.
The good part in Nougat that you have the ability to change the screen resolution and Performance Mode to get more battery life.
Power saving mode is available with 2 options
1-Medium power saving mode
2-Maximum power saving mode which is the same like UPSM but with a different user interface.
5-Gaming performance
Gaming performance is awesome as it was in MM ,You still have game launcher and you can adjust gaming performance settings as you used to do before. Game tools have the same features but in this version you can see the recent APPs on the right side of the screen
I've tested some high graphic games (Asphalt 8,NFS most wanted,Asphalt Xtreme )and all of them running nicely no lags or stutters or slow responses You can get the best gaming experience by activating Game Mode , which is completely new feature in Android Nougat.
Features
Lock screen (Same).
Right swipe on home screen for upday (same)
Theme store is not ready yet but looks exactly like Note 7 Theme store
Press and hold any APP on the home screen will show pop up menu which is much easier to control your Apps
Home screen adjustments( Same)
All( Samsung Apps, Google Apps, Microsoft Apps)Same Like MM
System Apps have a different looking icons(Rounded shape)(Grace UX) (Like Note7)
Phone App Same Layout and options with different background while calling (Motion gradient colours)
New APP Called Samsung my galaxy (it gives you some helpful tips offers and news)
Power menu, Volume control menu ( same)
Recent Apps looks slimmer
Split screen (Same as Stock Android Nougat)
just drag any window to the top of the screen then choose any APP that supports multi-window
To activate pop up window drag the window to the center of the screen
Double tab on the menu button will switch between the recent APPs.
POP up view by swiping from both corners on the top of the screen
Notification toggles has been changed completely from Samsung TW UI to be like Stock Android devices
you have 6 toggles in quick access bar ,9 Toggles in landscape
Quick pull down with two fingers still available
There is no auto brightness button and the brightness slider only appears in full toggles pull down.
If you press any title under the toggle you will access to more settings related to the selected toggle
Blue light filter is available ,Private mode,Screen mirroring all those running with out any problem
Android Easter egg toggle is available
The settings menu is just like the Note 7 and it's very informative
All sounds Still the same
Sound Alive is available with the same options.
All the display options ( Auto brightness, blue light filter , screen resolution)
AOD new software with all the new layouts ,all third party icons can appear on AOD ,double tab on any icon to open it
Device maintenance is completely new feature ,It will optimize your device very fast and it is much better than smart manager ,5 shortcuts for (battery , Performance mode , storage , RAM,device security)
You still don't have the ability to format SD card as internal adoptable storage.
Finger print is working ,I didn't notice any improvement or any different response
All language are supported
All keyboard language inputs are supported
Camera software has a different layout and gestures (Like Note 7) but all the options still the same,All the modes are working,Image and video quality are
the same as MM firmware.
Bugs and fixes -I've been using the firmware for almost 7 days , So I'm gonna share with you the problems I've got till now
1-S health is not working , I think cos my device warranty is void , So If your device was rooted before you will got the same issue
2-Some of the Apps didn't work normally like what's App voice messages is too low compared to MM
3-Some of the Apps didn't work at all like Facebook
4-Some users reported that Samsung music crashing but for me every thing working without a problem.
Now you will ask me , can I use it as daily driver? the answer here depends on your needs, if you can find an
alternative for Apps like Facebook and you don't need S health then sure you can use it as daily driver.

Hello all,
I got this phone L21 version a month ago and i am very happy with it but since it a flagship folower and its 2016 i miss some stuff. There are 3 things this phone lack to be one of the best:
1. It doesnt support OTG by its own. I tried unlocking and rooting, installed many apps and scripts but nothing.
2. It deoesnt support double tap to SLEEP. Since we have fingerprint, i find doble tap to wake not usefull but doble tap to sleep is nice feature. Again, tried many apps on my rooted phone and none is good enough.
3. Phone dont support fast charging. I know it doesnt have hardware required so we cant hope...
So what do you guys think, with these features, phone would be so much better, even it already so nice. Will there be any mods to make any of these things come true or will Huawei make them real in future? Can we write to them and propose them to add.
Nice day to all. ?☺

About otg i definitely agree i really thought it would have it but....i think one of the biggest lack is that it doesn't support VR and don't have gyroscope sensor i know on p8 lite was the same thing and there was some way around it but it would be really nice if p9 lite came with it
Doubletap to sleep is easily achievable on different levels (Xposed, different launchers, ...)
Can't say anything about OTG because I don't really see the fuzz about it... Never used it and never missed it to be honest...
Fast charging is a feature of high-end phones. This phone is a mid-range phone with a price tag around $250. Can't really expect fast charging for that.
Of course there are many sweet features that are missing out of the box. But with some knowledge there are workarounds to get most of them on the device. Plus, for the low price of this phone you can't really expect much more. It already is a real good value.

1. OTG works like a charm if you follow the instructions from one of the threads in the development section (I can confirm the init.d method).
2. Double tap to sleep can be done with Xposed, I am using it, there is a module called - surprisingly - DoubleTapToSleep .
3. I don't see the reason to rant about fast charging, because you knew this when you were buying the phone. If you wanted fast charging you should've bought P9. This is like buying a car with 60 liters tank and dreaming that one day, the manufacturer will announce a recall, disassemble 80% of your car and swap the tank for a new one with 80 litres...
Thank you guys but,
Xposed say this: 'The latest version of Xposed is currently not active. Did you install Framework and reboot?', When i enter framework it gives me msg: 'Xposed is not (yet) compatible with Android SDK version 23 or your processor architecture (arm64-v8a)'. A
And init.d method is very confusing to me. Can someone explane?
Thank you

WORK !!! THANK YOU !
- install from Playstore Universal Init.d
- Open Universal Init.d and activate support
- Create a generic text file Ex. usbotg in /etc/init.d folder with the following content
#!/system/bin/sh
echo hoston > /sys/devices/f4000000.hisi_usb/plugusb
!!!! Replace "f4000000" with the value found in your smartphone (my: ff100000) !!!!
- give to the file 755 permission
- reboot
I used Root Explorer to do all.
Enjoy !

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF THIS ANDROID 7 ON Z3+.
Advantages..
1. Battery is lasting more than MM.
2. Stamina mode comes with 3 level stamina features.
3. Split Screen Apps are awesome.
4. Heating is less, I think they avhieved that by closing the background apps.
5.Camera app doesnt heatup the phone and lasts open till 5 min( I checked for 5 minutes only may be it ll show heating warning after that, I just dont know about it).
6. Now both the wallpaper and lockscreen can be handled easily with the same option WALLPAPER provided at SETTING app.
Disadvantages.
1. The Icons for the apps CONTACTS, MESSAGING, PHONE, CAMERA are so ugly.
2. One cannot go to the homepage by clicking recent navbar and then by clicking at the clear space of the recent apps menu.
3. While phone is locked the phone doesnt react to double tap unlock like it used to be in MM.
4. While the phone is locked the Icons of battery, network, clock etc are placed slightly lower than the Icons placed in the unlocked screen. LOCKING UNLOCKING CREATES AN UGLY LOOK OF MISPLACEMENT OF THESE ICONS.
5. The Battery icon in the status bar is too weird. ( Doesnt like it look).
6. The Data traffic indicator ( the small arrows up and down are way too small, the indicator which shows below 2g, 3g, H+ and LTE on the status bar)
7. They removed the option of selecting the FOCUS MODE in the camera app.
8. I compared the pictures taken by my phone when its in LP, MM AND N, I must say in LP this phone used to capture photos brilliantly, in MM the pics are somewhat lower than LP. But in N the pics quality are not upto marks. I think thats all because of this focus thing. Now the phone focus the way it wants to).
9. Remove/ Quit apps wisely, I am downloading some apps from UC BROWSER and then I exit the app and keep the downloading in the background but when I cleared the app from the recent apps list just to make my recent app section to look empty, it stopped my downloading too and the APP UC BROWSER was completely shut. (This option is in LP TOO BUT NOT IN MM) So close apps wisely.
11. They abandoned the small apps, Yes they are there but not easily accessible, now accessing small apps are quit pain in the ASS.
12. The apps in the Recent apps looks very big.
13. New quick tiles are good but one cannot direct shut data from there.
Thats all dear Fellas, I like the UI OF MM more than this N.
I THINK SONY JUST BAKED THIS N FOR US IN HURRY.
If I missed anything than please guys you can add that on your comments.
I really think the Android N update is very good for this device. Camera quality has improved in N - try some low light shots - noise is much lower. The UI is very fluid.
For my device not update notice for now...but I see that in Russia update is out in these days...
So, for now I can't comment about N on my Z3+...but thank you very much for this thread...I hope more users tell opinions about this new update...
I would like to learn more about:
- camera is more fast or not, compared to MM? About picture quality seems the two different opinions are contrary..so, other user opinion about camera?
- N as it looks in terms of reactivity on our device?
- Audio? From speakers and in headset? There are some new optimizations or similar?
Thanks in advance to all

Using Nougat Indian Firmware
Advantages-
1. Camera quality is better
2. Split screen
3. Smooth Ui
4. Performance Enhancment
5. Battery backup improved
6. Brightness dim Issue in sunlight is fixed upto great extent
7. Heating issue is much more solved
Disadvantages ( Huge list but Listing major one)
1. Touch issue (Lackness in touch sensitivity)
2. No manual Focus in Camera Menu
3. Sound Quality reduced (Vibrations in back panel)
4. Can't download apps frome playstore in Roaming.
5. Now we have to double tap to activate data from notification bar
So, its better to push updates for fixing these problems. I hope sony would release updates.
Number 4 and 5 from @ag_themes list are customisation dependent. Both are not present in Russian Nougat that also was on servers before withdrawal.
Also I don't have any touch issues. The sound problems mentioned are the main reason of update withdrawal.
Btw. No overheating is probably connected with reduced usage of a57 cores. Nougat uses them rarely comparing to marshmallow (some report says they are disabled in nougat).
Can someone upload Russian fw? I want to flash it
Using Android Nougat on India Version
Split Screen is advantage (but not many app support however you can force them to)
Slightly more responsive ( like 5 percent)
camera is same (with an added option in manual mode)
audio is also similar
i feel battery consumption when device is used is same ( maybe doze helps when phone is in sleep but i didnt notice much improvement)
My device hanged once (in youtube app). Restarted itself after 5 mins.
Indirect access to small apps ( i never really used them)
{
Other things such as detailed (two taps to toggle) mobile data , wifi and bluetooth. Displays important things on settings , NOtification quick reply these are android N features sony didnt mess with
}
I feel its an simple upgrade of API . Everything else is similar to MM.

Nope, not true. With out bootloader unlock, it is impossible to root the device.
IOVYROOT will get temp root access to backup the TA Partition, but after reboot, the device loses the root access. It is only for taking backup, you can not modify the system. If you try to modify the system with temp root access, your device will be dead after reboot.

Enjoying new features but Facing battery drain issues?
Android 10 has been the most versatile Android hence, it came with all kinds of goodies such as new features, performance improvement, better permissions and security settings.
Please, don't complain that battery life is not as good as Android 9 because, Android 9 was NOT as good as Android 10.
Overnight battery drain issue has been fixed. If you are still facing it then you can try following methods to improve battery life (I will update it if there is a better strategy):
# Install blazemax kernel 3.4 and Magisk for root. Install a kernel manager app. Select "elementalx" governor for CPU and "balanced" governor for GPU. Enable "IntelliPlug" from CPU Hotplug and that's it.
Following are optional:
# Use Pure Black theme rather than light or grey
# Disable "Device personalisation services" from settings
# Disable "Find my device" from security settings
# Disable printing services from system settings
# Disable "Battery Manager" from system battery settings (optional)
# Freezing "Digital Wellbeing" may also help (optional)
More Tips for Improved Performance and Enhanced Battery
We install plenty of apps in our mobile phones to use for various reasons which may require us to use those apps regularly or when it's needed on random days a month. Some of apps are needed to work in background such as social networking apps. Whereas, gaming apps are needed to work only when needed. Other breed is known as bloatware which are not used by us but are part of system app partition. Gaming, infotainment and bloatware apps shouldn't be working in the background as they not only use battery but also use our data for ads and such. So, these apps should be disabled when not in use.
We need to have knowledge of all such apps and their relevant categories because this information will result in snappier performance of our phones along with good battery life by following the below mentioned trick.
You will need:
1. Titanium backup app
2. AirFrozen
Detail is given below:
1. Titanium backup app is one of the veteran apps which is good for backing up your app data so you can resume from where you left in previous ROM or phone. It's made for rooted phone users. It can be used for disabling the unwanted apps by using freeze command. I recommend that you should freeze bloatware which you don't use at all. But be very careful while disabling system apps. You can download this app from Google Play Store. But if you don't want to backup your apps then no need to install it. Just go for next app.
2. AirFrozen app is for people who have such apps which are not needed to work in background but are needed to be installed. Such apps include gaming and infotainment apps etc. By using AirFrozen; you can easily freeze/disable an app and can still open frozen app for use with couple of touches. This way the app gives you few major advantages; disabling the app which prevents background processing, data and battery usage and unwanted notifications. Secondly, frozen app is hidden from sight yet ready to open upon couple of taps. I don't want my son to know that I have battle royale game installed in my phone. Hence, I've frozen COD in AirFrozen. Few other infotainment apps and Titanium backup are also frozen in AirFrozen. Give this app a try and you will love it. You can download AirFrozen from Play store.
Did the developers of Mokee OS wait for the developers of LineageOS 17.1 to fix all the errors?!:good:

Ok my fingerprint is not working.so I needed atleast face unlock to work.atleast this is official rom .I'll try it out later .thanks for getting us this rom dev
Is this rom fast and smooth as LOS 17.1 ?
Please tell more about battery backup, bugs, sot, native video calling, And audio/video bug
Performance is good as I played COD on it for a few moments and I found no stutters. Battery seems fine as I saw only one percent battery drop overnight. I've used mostly mobile data since installing it and it hasn't really struggled with battery whereas data drains battery faster than WiFi. I cannot say anything about SOT at the moment as I couldn't fully recharge my phone since installing this ROM. I've been testing this ROM for last 19 hours with conservative governor. Added features as I mentioned are pretty useful. Unlocking with FP is snappy, signals are strong and LTE is connected all the time. I can't say about native video calling as my network don't have it. I use WhatsApp video calling which is fine.
No bugs encountered so far

Google had dropped face unlock with Android 10. Hence, official ROMs have dropped it as well. You should try LOS 16 or Mokee 90 or other Pie custom ROM for this ability.

Actually msm xtended v8.0 and havoc os 3.5 both have face unlock and both of those roms are android 10 .so I'm stuck with them untill another android 10 rom gets face unlock.by the way the next update of both msm and havoc os removed face unlock so I don't think they'll add face unlock any sooner.however the developers of this rom can definitely add face unlock as an added bonus

Yes, Degrus and VladSor added that functionality on their own fulfilling community requests. But in order to make a ROM official; it needs to follow AOSP code which doesn't allow face unlock.

I am using the same build. Have you checked settings because dark theme is grayish by default which has to be switched to black.

I don't see the said update of the "Game Space" application with FINALLY the Famous "4D Vibration" and "Voice Change" So why China is entitled to these Features is us always nothing!!! whereas was sold well in the Characteristics of realme x2 pro for the purchase !!!

Yeah I mean you're worrying over something really trivial. Just enjoy the phone man. It's getting better with each update, why are you concerned over such silly things
Btw you linked the India website, I don't know if it's the same as the EU variant, but just a heads up to download the correct update for your device to avoid problems.
Seems like my battery has improved a lot after the update so thumbs up for that

India / EU can be flashed with same firmware.
Just CN is different and can only flashed with CN firmware.

Ah ok in that case, but I'd just rather flash the appropriate file for consistency.
Also, another thing that's not mentioned in the changelog, there's finally an option to tune the vibration intensity, even though there's only 3 levels.

So if you have no problem you buy equipment where you lack the functions that are indicated in a technical sheet of the device so many places for you! But this is not the case with all World. I may still be right to say that the technical sheet is incomplete because realme has been promoting it for its gamer side, but when your ni looks closer it is missing a lot Like double wifi, the game space application is not the same for everyone and it's still incredible! What is the problem? Yes I am one of those who also bought it for its gamer side, so I also have the right to be unhappy not to find the promise made of all these options missing in my version!

No I totally get you, I hate it when companies don't keep their promises and don't live up to the expectations, and I may be biased since I don't see the neccessity of those functions. But it seems you're stressing yourself too hard over nothing and want this just for the sake of having it and not because it's useful.
4d vibration sounds good on paper but I doubt it's that good. Also you would probably not see a real benefit from dual wifi, unless the network you're connecting to is REALLY slow. I'm not 100% sure, but that's my interpretation.
We should totally push companies to do better and to not screw us, agreed, but it's kinda pointless writing that over and over again here on xda. Did you contact them via mail?
just to be absolutely sure , to update if i am rooted with magisk , i only have to :
go to recovery
flash update.ozip
while still in recovery , i flash vbmeta.img
flash magisk.zip
then reboot into os
that is all ? i dont have to wipe cache or dalvik ?
can anyone confirm if i am missing any steps ?
Thanks
yes by email and on their social network but they must always answer me! maia to answer you even if you see no interest in it that does not mean that it is valid for all the people who have bought the realme x2 pro. but he thinks he has partly found the answer to my question .. by dint of trying several version of the 'Game Space' application, it is written in a notification that to activate these options they must connect to their realme account! which only exists on the Chinese or Indian version! Which is totally inconsistent. And as we can see on Youtube the Chinese or Indian version has 3 times more options than us on the "Games Space" application so yes I expect to have the same Thing, I paid dearly for this phone and I therefore think I am entitled to the same options as the others !!!

I advice to do a wipe cache and dalvik after flash, before reboot
Can we actually force 90Hz in every app on this version?
That's the reason why I went to LineageOS, so I might come back if it's now possible (And no, the Magisk module available on this forum didn't work when I was on C.29)

The magisk module works for me. Worked ever since I was first rooted I think at c25, up until now at c31. Some apps are not complying, but that's just because they are programmed that way.

Well, those apps that aren't "progammed that way" works just fine in 90Hz on LineageOS, pretty sure that's just the module not really working for whatever reason.

That's not true, try 9GAG and tell me it doesn't switch back and forth?
Also Poweramp works at 90Hz everywhere but in library view, that's what I found out. Everything else works fine. Google Photos app was 60Hz, but after flashing the module it's 90Hz.
i flashed the rom through twrp (was using los before) but not able to use payment apps. it shows "system integrity compromised". can somebody tell me what i did wrong?
