Am I the only one or has other people having problems with Facebook and Facebook Messenger force closing every time you open it? Has anyone found a fix for this? I've tried to wipe my phone and still nothing.

You need to install the previous versions and don't let them update. They'll work fine.

Okay so I downloaded Facebook 173.0.0.58.99 and that one works just fine. And then I downloaded Facebook Messenger 166.0.0.26.91 and that works great. I disable auto updates to. Thank you for all the help much appreciated.

It just keeps saying "Sync is currently experiencing problems" It happened two days ago. I try to fix with factory reset but it doesn't help.I try to sync with my friend account with no luck. Does anyone experience this problem?

Facebook sync doesn't seem to be working anymore. Others are experiencing this so I'm guessing it's the same for every GS owners.
Maybe you right, Davith.
I see other experience problems on Samsung Galaxy S facebook page.
I contact Samsung service but it seems they can't fix my problem.
I suspect that there are problems with Samsung mobile application on facebook.

first i am using built in app to sync contacts - not working
fb 1.3.1 syncing but inside contacts visible as unknown contacts with no photos...
Do not install 1.3.1 FB app!!!!!
if you do, NEVER tell it to sync your contacts.
use only the internal built in sync feature of the SGS!
Check thread #7695544 as well
Yep,
having the same issue as well..
I have the same problems with facebook and sync. How can i fix that??
just a suggestion, you can uninstall the facebook app from market
boot to recovery mode, wipe the data and also wipe the cache
then use the build in Samsung facebook app
I've given up on Facebook sync. It hasn't been working for about two weeks now. SyncMyPix is the way to go if you want to get your contacts' pictures.
Funny thing, it just started to work for me again.. Anyone else?

same here, I thought by doing some stuff like setting a new fb password, cache clearing and such I had resolved the prob, but maybe it was some general problem caused by facebook itself, not caused by any phone settings.
Well, it started working out of nowhere, let's hope it lasts ;o)

Finallyyyy,
I got crazy trying to fix that f****** issue
100% sure it was Facebook's fault
Just started working here as well. GG Facebook.
After I installed the new Facebook for android application (1.5.1) on my DHD device I can not check my notifications.
Every time I launch the facebook application it tells me there was an error "connection reset by peers".
Any solutions ?
Maybe try to delete cache for facebook
I tried deleting data and cache and still does not work.
Update: Uninstalling the update and going back to the older version. All notification working properly
Still need to find a solution to get the notifications and syncing issues solves on the new version.
so i am using the older facebook application version because the new version give me the same error "connection reset by peer".
do u know how to downgrade back to the 1.5version?
To uninstall the updates. Goto applications -> select facebook -> u'll have a button saying un-instal updates.
This should push u back to v1.5.0

Update:
The new facebook application works fine of Wifi. Receive all notifications and updates.
It is only on Mobile(3G) internet that the facebook application shows me the error.
I get the same error pretty frequently. I usually just log on to Facebook using Dolphin Browser.
The Facebook Android app needs a lot of work to catch up to the Apple version.

I hate that I can't upload pics to someone's wall. I can do it on the iPhone...
And I have a problem with showing notifications but they won't go away after checking them.
i got the same problem with version 1.5.1 ("Connection reset by peer")
i also tried deleting cache and so on. did not help.
version 1.5 is working good, but it does not have chat, like 1.5.1
so i want 1.5.1 to work.
i've got the problem since two days now. i was using 1.5.1 before and everything worked well, but suddenly it did not -.-
if someone finds a solution, please post it
still no solution so far. Works perfectly fine on Wifi. Its only on 3G network that the notifications don't show up.
Afternoon all,
Does anyone have any ideas as to why my Nexus S stops syncing emails after a day or two?
If I go into Manage applications and clear the data, then re-enter my account details it works again for a few days, then stops again.
It doesnt seem to make a difference if it the built in email app or a third party one.
Any thoughts?
TIA

Are you syncing with sharepoint - receiving updates from sharepoint?

i am having this prob too.
Try reinstalling the app if you haven't yet. I was having this problem with the Gmail app and it worked for me.

No it's just connecting to an Outlook Web Access address. An iPhone connecting to the same server doesnt seem to suffer this problem.

Is there a way to reinstall the built-in email app? I have tried a couple of 3rd party email apps but they suffer the same problem, maybe a cache somewhere is filling up?...
Just wanted to pipe in and say I've noticed this as well with the built-in email client. Connecting to Hotmail via exchange service if that helps. It used to work without interruption prior to 2.3.3.
Same issue here connected to a University msft exchange account running Exchange 2010. I found the only other solution is to reboot the phone, then it start working again... for a bit. Stops working eventually though and requires another reboot. Rinse and repeat...
Nice to know I'm not alone in this irritation though... anyone clever got any thoughts?
Same problem here. Very annoying and unreliable.

I find notifications to be pretty sporadic whatever app you're using but I find them to be more reliable if you uninstall Facebook and just run FriendCaster.
You do have sync enabled right?

Try going to the play store, uninstalling, and reinstalling. See if that helps. Could have gotten a bad update. Good luck!

I've found that the update for gmail broke a few things like trying to compose an email make it crash. I just uninstalled that update and stuck with the old. It works at least
