Hi,
I am trying to downgrade my Galaxy J5 Prime (SM-G570Y) from Android 7.0, back to Android 6.0.1 (for some reasons). I have selected the 4 files (BL, AP, CP, CSC) in Odin for flashing. I have tried several methods to downgrade, but Odin keeps saying "FAIL!". Is there a solution for this?
Current Android 7.0 (Nougat) version on my phone:
G570YDXU2BRC1 (with Android Security Patch Level of 1 March 2018)
Planning to downgrade to Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) of version:
G570YDXU1AQG1 (with Android Security Patch Level of 1 July 2017)
CSC used on my phone:
Philippines (Open Line) - XTC
Thank you in advance!

I have this same problem to i want to downgrade because i want to fix my baseband and IMEI.
But looking and searching the sites and other forums i still don't find that is possible yet as there is not U2 android 6 available. Since the android 7 have security level U2 and can't go back to U1 (G570YDXU2BRC1 android 7 & G570YDXU1AQG1 android 6.0.1)
I guess we just have to root the phone and try other methods to fix IMEI and baseband.

yeah, is simply. download marshmallow from SamMobile,Updato etc... and flash it with Odin. put in in AP. click start and enojy
(tested with my A310F)
Thanks for you answer.
What about Bootloader, it will not make problem? Or must i flash with 4 files.
Thanks.

Bootloader (the one introduced with 6.01) allows only stock 6.01 and 7.0 to be used AFAIK.
More important is to remember to make full wipe data/cache.
A3 2016 SM-A310F MEO Portugal
I am trying to downgrade from 7.0 to 6.0.1.
I have downloaded both files from Sammobile for my phone and area and provider.
The Nougat one works with Odin, but when I try to flash the Marshmallow I get a fail
There are 2 files on Sammobile for 6.0.1 but I have tried both of them
I have just tried after a factory wipe and cache clear via recovery mode
Any advice please?
I think you must search for firmware with 4 files.

Yes, it will work. Download BRB1 & USERDATA_ATT. Flash to odin BL, AP, CP, CSC & USERDATA, USERDATA goes to the UMS slot. All others slots, are self explanatory. :good:

Is the sampwn root method not compatible with this baseband version? Been scouring threads and find little to nothing about recent s8+ version brb1. I tried many ways to odin flash the 4 pk root firmware to no avail. Updated to oreo with adb even returned to nougat. Always error model dispatch or abl binary wrong. Im running g955usqs2brb1 from att.
My dad has a SM-G955U AT&T on oreo 8.0. he absolutely hates Oreo , can he use this to revert back to nougat?

That's normal. The AP file takes the longest to load, it'll act like it's crashing, but once it loads up, it'll stop acting like it's frozen or crashing. It usually take 2 to 4 minutes to load.

Userdata will take a while too. AP and Userdata are big files. Odin is checking them for corruption.
Does it matter which version you are coming from? I currently am on CRB6, do I need to revert back to another one, or can I just use Odin to install this?

Home CSC, if your updating to retain your data and regular csc is a fresh installation (wipes data).

Hi
My device (Galaxy J5 2016) has recieved the update to Nougat 7.1.1 over an year ago, but I can't appear to be able to check for OTA updates- so I've attempted to look up the firmware online.
Apparently, the FN model is not officialy supported by Samsung for region ILO, so I can't find it's updated firmware anywhere and I oddly enough also can't find the firmware I currently have on this device, so I can't do anything (Also attempted Samsung support.. they can't help me.)
The device is currently on Marshmellow 6.0.1
the CSC is J510FOJK1APE3
AP: J510FNXXU2APK6
CP: J510FNXXU2APK6 (the same as AP)
Model: SM-J510FN
I want to stay using official firmware, avoid tripping KNOX and safely install this update without having to do a factory reset as I'd expect by upgrading a device to a correct firmware. What can I do?

Am I able to somehow modify the CSC in the firmware to match mine, so I won't have to factory reset / wipe and install it just as it's supposed to be officialy? I find it rather odd I do have a firmware with a CSC that isn't even supported for my device and yet KNOX is untripped and the firmware status is official.
This is the latest Stock Oreo 8.1.0 rom (INS) for Galaxy J7 2016 (SM-J710FN)
It's official and untouched Stock firmware which has latest OCTOBER 2019 security patch.
