ZTE Axon Mini Shut Down, Won't Power Up - ZTE Axon 7 Mini Questions & Answers

G'Day all.
I took my phone out of my case as it was getting a little hotter than usual while I was charging it.
I was in a hurry to leave home and so on grabbing the case and putting it on in a hurry I actually placed it on the wrong way and so the case was not aligned with the buttoens.
The case was therefore pressing against the buttons and powered off the phone. When I realised my error about 15 mins later I put the case on properly but found that the phone would not turn on. I held down the power button nothing happened. I got home and put it on a charger but the LED light would not even indicate that charging was taking place.
Been about 4 hours since but same thing. NOTHING. Phone remains unresponsive.
Any idea what is wrong with it

Phone shut down then wouldn't power back up until plugged

Hey guys,
I have had this particular device for about a week... it is a replacement as my last one had a faulty cellular radio. So this is still under free replacement warranty - but I hope it doesn't need it.
Anyway, I was at the pool hall today, and the phone was working ok then one time I pulled it out of my pocket and it was dead... home button did nothing and the power button did nothing. But it had plenty of battery life left (60ish %).
About 10 minutes later I plugged it into the charger and after about 45 seconds it showed the battery charging and all was good. What could have happened?
I keep it in a case (TPU case) so I was guessing overheating but I wasn't really even using it. So I don't see how it could have been that hot.
Edit: also, when hitting the power button it doesn't go from full brightness to screen off and vice versa.... it has like a middle step of going dim first. Then off or on, my last device didn't do this... is it common?
Needless to say I am a little concerned.
Cheers!

Screen Garbled, random noises. dead?

Hey guys,
Had a bizzare problem with my tablet. Got it a while back it was on charge the other day and when i came in that night to look at it, the screen was "on" but nothing on the screen, just backlit. The charger was for the nexus 4 I have so I thought that maybe it was a proprietary charger issue. This can be an issue sometimes with certain devices (HP Touchpad would only charge properly on it's own charger).
I unplugged it and it powered off. So i held in the power button and nothing happened. I guessed the battery was not charged for the reason I put above.
Anyway last night I took it into the front room and plugged it in to the Nexus 7 wall charger there, held in the power button, nothing. Unplugged it, nothing. I guessed there was 0 battery so i left it for a while, then I noticed out of the corner of my eye the lockscreen came on! Wahoo i thought, i went to pick it up and the screen went crazy, like an old Commodor Loader or Spectrum, and it made some weird garbled sounds. Then nothing. I left it and 10 minutes later it did it again, so i unplugged it and left it on the side.
Anyone else had the issue? Is there a known issue? I unlocked the bootloader but lost root after the recent update. I am anxious about RMAing it. Right now the device is at home so I can't plug it in, but will try tonight to put it in the USB and see if I can recover it somehow....
No Mods just unlocked bootloader.

Nexus 7 screen flickers and does not turn on after battery ran out after water damage

About 3 weeks ago I noticed my nexus 7 charger or charger port inside the nexus (more likely) was faulty and I was having to physically put fore on the charger to bend it downward to charge.
This was fine, however since then about 4-5 days ago I dropped my nexus 7 into a shallow sink of water. (about 10-15cm). I removed it immediately and dried it, disconnected the battery and left it in rice for 1.5 days. I then reconnected the battery and noticed it automatically tuned on. There was a small smudge on the top of the screen, and the power button on the side did not function.
I put it back in rice for another 2 days and then found the smudge had gone, but the power button still didn't work. I opened the back cover of my nexus 7 and noticed the track joining the volume up and power contacts was slightly broken, possibly from water. I was and still am likely to try to fix this by applying some conductive paint over the affected area. It is worth noting that I used it for several hours, and the device worked fine aside from the power button and charged normally
Because the power button didn't work I did not want to get my nexus to dim the screen and lock itself, so I turned off sleeping in the settings. However, this then depleted the battery and it must have turned off when I left it. I plugged it in and because I'm guessing the nexus somehow detected the power button wasn't working, turned itself on as it had done before, however it then shut down because there was no charge, and then turned on again, and then turned off... (only when plugged in)
I realised this would be happening all night, so I opened the boot menu by pressing the volume down key during the nexus 7 starting up, and left it in that screen overnight hoping it would let it charge. However in the morning I realised I couldn't exit the screen because one of the controls was the power button so I disconnected and reconnected my battery. Now this is where I am currently at, there is no activity when the nexus is not plugged in, so I do not think the battery has charged, and when I do put the charger in (and I have to hold it down to physically bend it to charge) it now has a black screen with random white fuzzy pixels and no activity.
Please help!
i thought this thread was a joke lol
dude you may as well just finish the job and run a truck over it :good:

Hey Chris, I had a similar issue. The unit was water damaged and went into a continuous loop of turning itself on and off. I eventually also put mine in a bag of rice and took it out after a week to realize the power button was probably damaged and kept looping itself in that cycle. Each time when I plug the device into a power source, it just turns itself on, gets into the OS and then turn itself off again because there wasn't enough power.
I ordered a power button strip on ebay for $10 and tried to install it into the unit. After the installation, I was able to charge the unit (ie: when i plug it into a power source, I can see the charging icon come on and after a day it was fully charge. At the same time, the device didn't keep rebooting itself).
Now that the Nexus 7 is fully charge, whenever i reinsert it into a power socket, the icon will say it is fully charge. When i press the power button however, it won't start up. This is where I am, also stuck and don't know what to do.

S7 Edge crashing issues

Have had the phone for a while now but for some reason recently the phone will randomly shut off. Some times it will immediately start booting back up but more often then not it will just stay black. holding the power button does not turn it back on and some times even holding the power down and the power button doesn't work I just have to wait. I'm not sure whats going on.
The problem is this most recent time it did this and the light was solid blue. after a while a green light started to flash slowly while the blue was still illuminated but the phone would not power on no matter what I tried. I took the back glass off and got to the battery plug and unplugged it (thinking that it was just a hard freeze) now i have no lights and I can't power it on. I don't even get a battery or any lights when I plug the power in.
Has anyone seen anything like this or could give me any other troubleshooting steps I could try to follow? I've put the wireless charger and retainer and screws back in but haven't resealed the back glass in case I have to go back in.
Seems to me like the MMC (memory management controller) chip is dead.
That's a motherboard swap isn't it?
So I opened the phone as disconnected what I think was the screen and some other plug on the bottom left of the mobo maybe the touch synthosizer? I let it sit for about 15 20 mins charging. I plugged all the connectors back in and it booted properly.
Why did that work?
Now that it's up I did a factory reset put apps on one at a time and using Snapchat causes the phone to shut off.

S7 edge unresponsive need advice

1st apologies i posted this in the wrong section so this is a repost
not used it for 18mth, i seem to recall i flashed a rom onto it but not sure which one, anyway tonight found it and tried to turn it on, it briefly powers up the display is like a static tv screen and it says along the top "kernel is not seandorid enforcing" and it has now gone to a black screen i do not know if the phone is off or on, tried to reset using home power vol up/down buttons but i get nothing. i put the phone on charge for 30 minutes nothing seems to indicate if it is charging or not except the chargers power light stays on.
anyone any ideas if i will be able to recover the phone or is it now a paper weight?
i am going to guess the phone is at this moment dry of charge except for the last 30 minutes and it still seems dead.
thanks
at the moment no amount of key press combination do anything the phone was working perfectly prior to sitting on a shelf for 18mth un-used so i guess my issue started when i attempted to power it on b4 giving it a good charge.
