Is there anyone who can help me? I have a total android crash in my Seat Ibiza Android 6.0.1 Car DVD (2GB ram, 32GB, Octacore)
I need to know how to acces android recovery mode, i tried a lot of button combinations but can't find it.

Found it:
Long press volume/power (is one knob) button, press reset with pen or paperclip keep both for 5 seconds. Then release reset, hold volume/power button 1 second longer. Release volume/power button and push it short again. Now unit boots to recovery mode.
Short press to go to item of your choice, long press to select.

Can't HARD RESET my Diamond2...

Hi all, guys. So, the problem is the following...
I need to hard reset mi topaz, but the VolUP + VolDown + PowerON method doesn't work. The 1234 method can't be performed since I can't access start menu. I didn't try the VolUP + VolDown + RED button when Topaz is turned on.
I think it's strange that method 1 doesn't work. It boots normally, like ignoring I'm pressing the two Volume buttons...
Any suggestion, solution, guys?
Thanks in advance!
The RED button method worked, but It's strange why the VolUP + VolDown + PowerOn method is still not working...
the soft reset and power buttons do the same thing, it just reboots the phone, and while phone starts to boot, before splash screen appears, is when you have to hold the volume keys.
So it would be;
Power on, THEN hold both volume keys immediately before device starts to boot,
or
Hit soft reset, THEN hold both volume keys immediately before device starts to boot
Did you do exactly this?
To perform a Diamond 2 hard reset
1. With the device turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then briefly press the POWER button.
2. Continue pressing the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons until you see this message on the screen:

This doesn't work. I think you got it mixed up.
ArtieQ wrote the correct way.
No, it works, you just aren't fast enough.
It's just different ways to get to the same place.
The point is, volumes must be pressed as device begins to boot.
I just soft reset and press them and it always works for me.

That's right! Thank you Bruce Inman, IT WORKS!
But the ArtieQ method is the one I always used... and the one that usually worked... but anyway, NOW IT WORKS! Thanks Bruce again!

N10 - 16GB - Volume buttons & Screenshot capture

Just received my N10 - 16GB and was trying to figure out how to take a screenshot. From everything I read it's, Hold Power Button + Vol Down. That didn't work. It was just as if I held down the Power Button by itself and it gave me the popup window for Power Off / Airplane Mode.
I then realized that the Vol Down is actually in the top position, closest to the Sleep/Power and Vol up is in the bottom. Is this normal? I don't recall the Nexus 7 having the volume buttons reversed.
Also, trying to take a screen shot still doesn't work for me. Anyone having these issues?
Thanks,
The tablet is designed for landscape use.....so at the top left of the tablet is Power, Volume - and then Volume +
Press and HOLD both Power and Volume - at the same time, it takes a few seconds (about 2.5 seconds based on doing it right now and counting LOL).
Do not press one then the other. Put your fingers over both then press at the same time.

Much appreciated the quick answer. From my other Android devices, it was either hold power/sleep first then either Vol down or Home button. I tried your suggestion and it works now. Even gives an audible tone.
Anybody else find this really awkward?
It'd be much better if I could do a screenshot by holding the power button down and tapping the home button. Much like the One X etc.

Nexus 4 has black screen, not responding

First time using Android, not sure what to do, the only things I can press are the power button and the volume buttons.
Everything has been fine for its first few days, battery was full. I think it went to a lock screen now I can't get the screen to respond.
RMA it dude
Have you tried a hard reset?
Try and turn off the phone if not try next step
Press and hold the Volume Down key and Power key at the same time.
Continue to hold the keys until the device turns back on.
When the device turns on, release the Power key and continue to hold the Volume Down key until you see the reset screen (Android in a Box).
Release the keys. The phone will restart.
This is assuming you are not rooted, unlocked, or have installed custom recovery.
Hope this helps

Thanks! I had the same issue this morning, this worked fine. No idea why it went blank though.
Thanks. Had the same issue. The phone was turned on and the volume buttons made that clicking sound, but no screen. This worked for me with some modification.
After holding volume down + power I had to release both and press power only to start it again.
Thanks for the solution

How to enter in Recovery Mode

Hello guys, i'm ****ed with this...
I bought an Android Head Unit in AliExpress and it doesn't boot any more, so I need to enter in Recovery Mode to Wipe Data or reinstall/update ROM. (Picture Below)
My Android Head Unit is a RK3066 (aliexpress.com/item/Android-4-4-4-Stereo-unversal-car-GPS-of-2-DIN-101mm-176mm-7-inch-navi/2048082018.html) with touch buttons, just a physical reset button.
So I can't enter in the desktop, it just stop in boot logo. How can I enter in Recovery Mode?

If it's anything like mine, use a pen to press and hold the reset button. While still holding, press and hold the power button for five seconds. Then release the reset button and continue to hold the power button for five seconds. Then finally release the power button.

Unfortunately I have no home button. Just reset and sound off buttons.
Thanks
Did you ever find a solution? I have not physical buttons besides the reset button and I cannot get it to go in recovery mode. I have pressed the reset button for a long period of time. Held it for 20 seconds (then) 3 seconds (then) 1 quick click. nothing has worked. I have an Eincar (Topway!) stereo unit in a bootloop.

Use the tweezers put on place C17 IC (two pin) like in picture attached, make it short circuit until the android unit restart (about 5-7 seconds) and take off the tweezers.
It should restart into recovery
Hope it helps you.
In my case, I did the factory reset unfortunately my H/U got stucked on boot logo. My solution is below.
My H/U is Rockchip
1. Install the driver to ur PC
2. Prepare ROM xxx.img
3. Follow this instructions wiki.radxa.com/Rock/flash_the_image
Hope this will help!!
It worked

A-Media Auto (1024x600) 5.1.1

I just bought and installed this unit in my 2010 Prius from a seller on Ali Express
I want to install a custom ROM on it but first I want to make sure I can successfully boot into recovery in case something goes horribly wrong. The seller REALLY doesn't want to share that information with me, so I was wondering if someone here might know how this is done.
If you have a reset button...
Press it (with toothpick) and hold it pressed until you see blinking the lights of buttons...then release and press it again until you see the lollipop logo. Release it and you will be on recovery menu.
You can move on different options from recovery by pressing quickly the reset button and choose an option by holding pressed the reset
if I did help you, please hit "thanks" button

So I tried that, but on my unit when you press the reset button all the light go out and stay out until the button is released. The only time I can get the lights around the buttons to flash three times is when I release the reset button and hold down the power button. But when I release the power button and hold it down again after the flashes it just repeats the three flashes again like the first time. If I release the power button at any time it just loads up like normal. If I hold it down again when the lollipop logo comes on it just goes blank and repeats the three flashes again. If I press the reset button it just resets the unit again, if I hold it down it does nothing until I let go, then it resets the unit again like normal.
The three flashes seem like they mean something but I can't figure out how to get to the next step of actually starting the recovery. I want to flash a custom rom but I am afraid to do it without the safety net of being able to get into recovery if I need to, you know?
any update
I also want to buy this unit, but I'm just not sure:
Does it connect to all the functions of the Prius 3? Camera? Microphone? Steeringwheel buttons? Other?
Or do you need extra modules? Which?
Are you enabled to edit the basic car functions from it at least?
Found the thread on google, waiting for someone custom rom it, its good, everything works excepts its buggy, sometimes camera dont work etc that is why i also want a simlle custom rom on it
Edit: solved here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...pment/mtcd-intel-sofia-units-wifi-3g-t3533154
Could you explain me how? I have same screen but I don't even get those 3 lights pushing both reset + power at same time. Thanks
