Galaxy s8 G950FD stock rom - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Does any have google drive or MEGA link of latest galaxy s8 firmware?? Searched the whole xda didn't find??

Go to Updato (dot) com and search for your model number. Then, make sure you get the correct one for your bootloader and Region / Country. Sorry that I'm not allowed to post links yet..
This should help you find the right one. Just make sure your Region / Carrier is the right one.

Sir is there a way to check the md5 checksum of the firmware??? Cause i didn't find it... Thank u very much

Download the correct Odin. Look on these S8 forums for the modified Odin that works for Oreo, and make sure you read all the precautions and information on flashing. Once in Odin and when you unzip the firmware files, the AP, BL, and CSC should verify the MD5 sum when you select them.

Yes, look on XDA for the correct Odin for Oreo. Read some information on flashing and its dangers if yiu haven't yet. After this, in Odin, once you unzip the firmware and load them into the AP, BL, and CSC files, Odin should check the MD5 sum automatically.

Download samfirm from here :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3803841
Enter your model no. example SM-G935F
And region code: INS
And click check for updates, it will check for latest version available for your region. Then proceed to download.
If samfirm gives some error codes, then I guess you have to use updato or sammobile. Here is the link for updato https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=C97F8A453DF911E89F15FA163EE8F90B

You know I would have never advised anyone if I haven't tested myself. You can flash without any issues, but nougat will seem much laggy, don't know why. I just experienced it after downgrading that last nougat release for my region was much laggy then it was before I upgraded to oreo. But it may just be my imagination because oreo is more responsive and faster than nougat.
Nope S2 won't hurt. The thing is that the number after alphabet is same i.e 2. S2 is update from U2. 2 must be same. Also firmware is same for both F and FD models.

!!!!WARNING!!!!!! TOO LONG!!
Thank you for your help but this post did not work for me. After downgrading and trying many times to get imei i flashed the FACTORY BINARY but nothing i had lost modem and did not have baseband and NVDATA.
so with my heart rate @ a billion beats/sec with thoughts of i had bricked my phone. i clam down and started trouble shooting one by one .
At this point modem was undetected odin would fail to flash any firmware.
so i downloaded latest firmware 8.0. lucky it flashed and removed the FACTORY BINARY now back to stock 8.0 with no baseband and modem firmware. I did the following;
1. Flashed latest TWRP via Odin.
2.Formatted DATA then reboot back to TWRP (more drama ) your likely to face DM verify issue like i did here flash CF auto for android 7.0 but it wont give you root for some reason.
3.back to TWRP flash SuperSu for s7edge(SR1-supersu)
4.download the NVDATA,modem, and EFS for your device google search should yield.
5.flash NVDATA,modem and EFS. then factory reset the phone in TWRP
7.wait for many dramatic reboots,(reroot if you lost root)
8. then download and install ROOT BROWSER
still no network in my case at this point. i waited 20mins.
9.browse to the EFS folder in root. delete everything except **FACTORY APP**and **PROV-DATA**
10.do a full reboot
11.if no network like me, go to TWRP and factory reset.
12.sit back sip coffee and wait..
THIS IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME (G935F) i have since flashed back stock rom and rerooted and i have not lost IMEI again am now running a custom rom since 3hours ago still IMEI and network is strong. BE CAREFUL NOT TO BRICK YOUR PHONE I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE. DO AMPLE RESEARCH BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS METHOD MAKE SURE ALL FILES ARE FOR YOUR DEVICE. ALWAYS KEEP LATEST STOCK ROM WITH YOU.
Could you tell me which rom should I flash on s7 edge locked to three UK? I bricked my phone. Don't have backup.

Thats because you were flashing older bootloader version on a newer bootloader..
Download this https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?record=6CF8552A10BC11E89F15FA163EE8F90B
Flash it using odin 3.13.1 , also be sure to use CSC file and NOT the home_CSC..

I was able to bring my s935f to life but unfortunately imei and signal is gone... Now, the fact is that I had same situation with my note5 in the past and...…. have given up due to lack of ideas how to fix such complicated thing like bringing back imei. Have tried all apps from play store-/rubbish. Even today I still have that motherboard in my drawer.
BUT s7 edge looks so great that I would take a chance to fix it if anyone my kind members could provide me with instruction explaining how to do this on basic knowledge level.
I know how to flash rom using Odin., how to install usb drivers, unlock oem, usb debugging,, how to flash twrp, root the phone...… but I struggle with the knowledge about 'pit file' (what the heck is that? because my odin 3.13.1 doesn't have pit file slot which I have seem on youtube movie....) ,I am confused with the fact that I can flash let say csc ,file in AP slot in din? Ums, …. Anotherwords wouldn't be a HUGE PROBLEM if the steps given on youtube or google work!!! But they don't!!! I mean my note5 here. So I am fully aware that simple looking instruction may bring a lot of hidden problems such as 'your rom flashed ok on youtube but my exactly the same phone and rom faild…. and now the Game starts when you read on google multiple solution and non of them work for you because you missed some small detail that wasnt mentioned in the movie because that was so obvious to creator. Looking back on my previous playing with roms I can say that IS ALWAYS SOMETHING ………. so I expect a lot of stress.
If YOU know or did it before how to make my phone great again, tell me please. Otherwise this pretty beast will end up mining electroneum.... Thanks

Can flash everything from stock rom except BL

Hi,
I had installed the Helios Rom on my S7 Edge G935FD
I wanted to revert to the stock rom, but in ODIN, it was always failing.
After several tries, I could flash the Stock ROM G935FXXU1DQAZ_CL10273029_QB12312524, but keeping the BL unchecked.
Whenever I try the BL, it fails.
I have flashed the ROM, it Starts, but the SIM is not recognized.
Please HELP!

May be its because your are flashing old BL over new BL which is not possible. Always download latest firmware for your region from "samfirmware" and try again.
I have downloaded the latest version of the firmware. I just can not flash the BL..
I have the same issue. Cant connect to mobile network and can't flash BL.

Ok check Sammobile for a BL Version 2 because, as said before a BL downgrade is not possible at the moment. Not all countrys and carrier have all Versions with BL2.
Her's an example:
G935FXXU2ERE8 <-- BL 2 Oreo
G935FXXS2DRDI <-- BL 2 Nougat
G935FXXU1DQJ1 <-- BL 1 Nougat
I hope that helps to download the right version.

Having Trouble Reverting G892A (GS8 Active) to Stock

Hello all,
I recently purchased a Galaxy S8 Active (AT&T). It was on a stock firmware out of the box. I found an XDA thread with a rooted G892A ROM, and I attempted to install it. I must have done something incorrectly, because the phone would no longer boot. I researched how to use Odin to flash the phone back to the stock firmware but was not able to complete that process.
This is what my phone shows during the download mode flashing process: https://imgur.com/BjhUoXb
- If you look at the last line, it says: "SW REV CHECK FAIL : [abl]Fused 4 > Binary 3"
This is the message that Odin fails on each time when flashing the stock firmware: "abl.elf, FAIL! (Auth)"
How I can get this phone back to stock firmware?
Thanks!

You will need the flash version 4 firmware on your device. It"s the 5th digit from the right of the firmware that you downloaded. My firmware is G950FXXU4DSDA so the number 4 ( from the right ) is my version number. You can not download grade to a previous when number.

Find version number of Samsung S8 Phone? (boot stuck on Samsung loading screen)

Hello,
So I recently rooted and installed a rom on my Galaxy S8 (extreme syndicate method). But I wanted to unroot and go back to stock so I downloaded a firmware from sammobile and flashed it using odin (I only added the BL, AP, and CP files during flash) and now it gets stuck on the samsung logo at boot. Can't enter recovery (can enter download mode).
So I think I'm not downloading the correct firmware for my phone from sammobile maybe? I have tried 4 different firmwares (2x android 9.0 firmwares - gives the stuck on samsung logo issue and 2x android 7.0 firmwares fail to flash correctly in Odin)
How do I know the right PDA or CSC version numbers for my phone without being able to get into it? I'm in Australia and it's a SM-G950U however not sure of the origins of the phone (could be an import, not sure).
Or any other things I could try to get it back to stock?
Thanks!
Well you need to go to about phone and look at build number. And when you flash the firmware flash csc. You rooted and dont know what build number you have? The firmware you flash has to be on the same bootloader of the current firmware you have

So I followed the instructions here to root forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/development/root-t4060701 flashing the G950USQU7ASK1 firmware and worked fine.. I am unsure of the stock firmware/build number for this phone though. I can't find any compatible firmware on sammobile either.

I suggest getting your Stock ROM not from xda, but from Sammobile. To find your ROM on Sammobile, you need your phone model. You can find your phone model in Settings -> About phone. It's called "Model number". Then, use that to find your ROM on Sammobile.
The reason why your flash didn't work, is because you may have left out "CSC".
---------- Post added at 06:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:49 PM ----------
It's me again. So this is the page for your exact model: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s8/firmware/#SM-G950U
But it only seems to have ROMs for USA.
However this other version of the S8 does: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s8/firmware/SM-G950F/XSA/
I suggest using the latter link. It's for a S8 from a different market, but it'll work regardless.

If you used extreme syndicate method you are on or near the latest firmware. Despite being 7.0 you are still on the latest. So its gonna be a bit 7 firmware. 5th digit from the far right end. Will be a 1 through 7. You need any firmware with a 7.
