apps just stop - Galaxy Tab 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tab 4 model SM-T330 NU. In the midst of a game or search, app simply stops, goes back to home screen. Doesn't matter which app. Going to safe mode doesn't help. Problem started with Clash of Clans, now happens with other apps.

Some games will hold a saved state, so just pause the game and press the home button. Then just go back to the game's icon when you're ready to go back to it. That said I've had more than 1 that don't do that and its quite frustrating.

It's not the games fault, it's cause the play has such little ram, the OS will quickly close background applictions
As long as your not playing online just press home. To re-access the game, hold the home key and reselect the game icon.
Sent from my XPlay using XDA App.

I've noticed this issue with certain games no matter what, for example this pinball game I downloaded from the market a while ago, not even on my Play but my old Droid which has even less ram. Other games would pause and go back no problem, but the Pinball game, no way. Tried it on my tablet too and had the same issue. Its pretty annoying, not sure why that happens.
Also Android will freeze apps, but not close them, especially if it runs out of memory. You can still go back to it. The only time it closes them is if the app is idle for a long time.
Some games are designed to automatically close on exit to home screen.
However a lot of the games that are on the Xperia Play launcher allow a quick return via home key.

Lag, Task Manager and Settings Freezing up, Connectivity issues

I just got my white 16gb yesterday afternoon. I've been experiencing lag since the first minute (scrolling through the market, flipping through pages of the home screen, etc.). After downloading some of my apps, every time i open up the Task Manager or App manager i get a "Unfortunately, Task Manager has stopped" or "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" message after a few seconds without touching anything. Went to verizon store this morning, the lady saw the issue and said she had to wipe the phone to reset it to factory settings. After that was done, she said if it happens again, I could come in tomorrow (July 12, actual launch date) and get it replaced with a new one. I asked her if she could reserve one for me (since they will probably be sold out quickly) just incase the problem comes up again, but she told me she couldn't reserve anything :/
Just now while i was downloading some apps from the market, my 4G connection dropped to 1X and all of my downloads gave me errors. I had to disable then re-enable Mobile Data to get it to work again.
Now after installing my apps, the same original problem is occurring. I've only installed a few regular apps (facebook, chrome, evernote, dropbox, etc.) and a few ebooks, but the Task Manager and App Manager in Settings keep freezing up!
Now I'm not so excited about this phone anymore :/
Has anyone been having these problems too? or am I just the unlucky one?
Me too, but not as severe..

I just started experiencing this when ever I open "Manage Applications". I click menu then manage apps or if I go in to menu, system settings, application manager, the manager loads, shows all my apps and within seconds freezes, then black screens and I can't do anything, after a few minutes I get the message that "Unfortunately, system has stopped" then it closes and I get back to the phone fine. I have a lot of apps installed and am rooted but it appears that you are not so I don't know what the heck is going on.
-Sin
EDIT - It's happening when I run root explorer also. I have log viewer light and can filter it down to errors. Appears I am getting some kind of "Out Of Memory" error in the log when ever this happens. Weird. I can't record the log because that crashes everything and dumps me out to the lock screen. I'm not done playing around with it to try and get more answers but I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to flash back to a non-rooted stock, reload all my apps and configs then see if it starts happening again. Just so I can convince myself it's not a root issue regardless of the OP.

Google Spamming me, and video problems.

my nexus 4 is having some weird problems which are driving me crazy.
Firstly when I'm trying to watch videos full screen in the browser I can't get the menu bar or the media buttons to disappear, they'll go for a split second and reappear. Even when trying manually.
Secondly my Google results in dolphin are just Google applications! It doesn't seem to search at all for what I type in, very annoying.
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Play Store repeatedly quits?

I'm noticing that the Play Store is super smooth and stable on my Nexus 5, but a little bit crazy on my Nexus 7. Suppose I have 10 app updates. I open Play Store and press Update All. I leave the screen on because that seems to get it going faster.
Inevitably after a few apps have updated, it will force quit back to the home screen. Some apps will continue to update but not others. I reopen Play Store, navigate to My Apps. It is still updating apps but some of the ones previously on the list are now no longer updating. This cycle continues a few times until it's got maybe 3-4 apps still not updated and the rest are updated. Then I press Update All again, and one or two more finish and the rest don't after a few more force quits.
So basically I always have to babysit Play Store to get updates to finish. Anyone else seeing this?

Note 4 randomly showing adds for games and apps

Hi guys,
I'm new here and happy to be one of Note 4 owners.
I am enjoying this phone for more then a year now but it started to behave strange recently.
When I wake up phone it goes to Internet page with adds or directly opens play store asking me to download app or game. I tryed restarting, pulling battery out (hard reset), scanning for viruses with Kaspersky. Non of those helped -it still does same.
So, do you guys know what issue is this and how to fix it as it quite annoying for me.
Thanks very much
