[Q]Update fixed Clockworkmod isn't working

Update fixed the SD was broken I don't exactly know why but it explains everything so thanks for all your help and sorry for not being very
clear.
Hi I'm having issues with clockworkmod.
See the problem is while trying to flash cyanogen mod I was getting the endless loop so I kept
at it until I managed to flash it. The problem is I flashed Cm6.1.0 so easy fix right? Well I thought so too until clockworkmod wouldn't find the zip. So I tried nandroid and it again couldn't find any zip so I checked the partitions menu and clockworkmod had mounted the
Sd card and the cache. So I unmounted both and still nothing so I looked at the setting's again and it remounts the cache and sometimes the Sd card. Well my problem is worsened by
the fact that the version of cyanogen mod that did flash doesn't have the market or flash.
Any help will be welcome. HTC aria.

With CM 6, the Market is in the GoogleApps zip which must be installed after the ROM.
Also Flash 10.x does not run on the Aria; the CPU is not supported by Adobe.
Well clockworkmod won't find any zip not even nandroid and so my problem deepens so now can't get the market crap.

Some of your terminology in your post is very confusing. First of all, ClockworkMod will only find ZIP files that are copied to the root directory of your SD card. If you copied them to a folder on your SD card, CWM will not find them.
Second, Nandroid is a backup and restore utility and it does not use ZIP files. It creates backup folders on the SD card under /clockworkmod/backup and contains image files of the various partitions on your phone.
So what is the exact state of your phone? You stated that you have flashed CM 6.1? If you boot your phone normally, does CM 6 start up and are you able to use your phone? In order to install gapps.zip file to get the Market app, copy the gapps.zip file to the root of your SD card and see if ClockworkMod can install it. BTW, in CWM you are select "install zip from sdcard" and then "choose zip from sdcard", right?

Thanks for correcting my misinformation. I guess the root location only applies to "update.zip", right?
Yup. And it actually must be named "update.zip"
Oh crap I just formated the boot partition and now my phone won't boot at all!
It still won't find any zip. What now? Is there any way to restore clockworkmod?

Are you copying the zip files from your PC to the sd card? Have you tried downloading a ROM zip file directly to your SD card using your phone's browser?
I have exactly the same problem...Clockwork will not see any .zip files....even tried mounting usb storage from cwm, it mounts and the zips are there, yet it can not find any of them when i try to find them (all are in the root of the sdcard)...any ideas?
So if you pick "choose zip from SD" you can't manually pick a zip?
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
Found a solution:
1. Get SD card formatter from HERE
2. Plugin your phone (as USB drive), start up the application and format the card (default options selected) NOTE: backup your SD card to your PC first (obviously)
3. Unplug the phone (or put it into charge mod, whatever)
4. The phone should now try (and fail) to mount the card...go to the SD options and format the card using the phone function
The .zip files should now be visible in ClockworkMod Recovery (it worked for me and a few others as far as i know)

[HARD BRICK ?] - I919x - Make your debrick.img and have it on extSdCard by security

Hi People
We all must have the debrick.img on our extSdCard by security. If we have a Hard Brick we can make like this examples solved whit success.
See two HARD BRICK's solved. I have sending them the debrick.img:
This whit a Guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600869 . One Mega 6.3" I9205.
And this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2624203 . One Note3 N9005 whit Kitkat 4.4.2.
The method is the same for all Samsung devices that have a Pit file on partition mmcblk0.
The principal Thread for this work is this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439367 Thanks @KAsp3rd
See also this to create the debrick.img: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45725480&postcount=45 Thanks @DocHoliday77
T999 is a example. This Mod work whit Pit.file partition mmcblk0. This is same on all Samsung devices I think. I only change to I9195_Partial_sys...
If You flashed a new Pit file or Updated by OTA (that can bring one), make new debrick.img . From 4.2.2 to 4.3 also.
PS: All People, make your debrick.img and have it on extSdCard by security.
Flash this by Recovery. Saved on Internal Sdcard. Copy it to extSdCard.
(Whit the usual Recovery from @arco68 Dev, the debrick.img is on /data/media.
Whit the Recovery from @Phil3759 is on /sdcard or /storage/sdcard0.

See this Guide made by a member that had a device bricked and I have sending him my debrick.img:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600869
On PC we make a MicroSD (16 or 32 GB) whit Win32DiskImager.exe using the debrick.img. After created this Microsd that have many partitions hidden for Windows but not for the device, We insert it on Bricked phone, press start and begin something to give life to it. Because the debrick.img was made from Pit file I think that is re-writed the PIT and after we have Download Mode and can use Odin.
But see the Thread father from this process: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439367 Thanks @KAsp3rd

OK, now it's clear I think: When phone is hard bricked and says something like QHSUSB_DLOAD when you turn it on, you can save it using the image on sdcard. Is that right?
Another question: What size the dump image will have when I flash your update package in CWM ?

Hi
It is on /data/media, the debrick.img is there. On 4.1.2 /data/media is the internal sdcard but on 4.2.2 whit the option multiuser the configuration from it is different (the place depends from the Recovery used).
It arrived to me also. Not seen debrick.img on internal sdcard. Not remember that. I flashed the Recovery from Phil3759 and it work to normal sdcard..
Now I use this Recovery, I like it. See it here:

[trick] switching roms without loosing adopted sd data[mm]

Marshmallow had a new cool feature of adopted storage but all the flashoholics had trouble in changing roms because they have to format sd card every time they change roms .
I have a solution.
1:- while flashing rom wipe system dalvik cache and cache but dont wipe data .
2:- flash the rom and let it optimize apps .
3:- after optimizations most probably you will be in bootloop , simply boot into recovery and wipe data and reboot.
4:- your phone will optimize apps again and this time it will boot up and you can access sd card as adopted storage without need to format it again as internal.
This trick worked for me and should work for you guys too.
There's another method that is :-
1:- navigate to root folder
2:- copy all the files from data/misc/vold to somewhere in SD card
3:now boot to recovery wipe everything except SD card and flash new ROM .
4:- now using twrp's file manager move the files you from step 2 to the same folder I.e. data/misc/vold
5:-reboot
According to twrp dev, you can use this trick ' Note, if you factory reset and leave the key present in /data/misc/vold, then Android will still detect and use the adopted storage on the next boot.'

Sorry for bringing up this old thread again, but I've an issue where I had to hard reset in order to get root on my Moto X Pure. I didn't think about whether or not I should make any backups of my sd or nand.
I thought I could just continue using the sd as adopted storage on my new ROM.
Anyways, when doing this trick do I leave the sd card inside?

Just copy it to your SD card using file manager. Then when you flash ROM, go into twrp file manager and copy-paste it back to vold folder.
However, if you are on a nougat ROM then you don't need this entire trick at all! Just flash ROM without this trick. The .key will take care of itself automatically without any problem.

I change a bit TWRP 3.0.0-0 for Idol 3 [4.7] and a easy way to flash it.

24-08-2016
Hi!
I know there is alread a TWRP 3.0.0-0 recovery for Idol for Idol 3 4.7 .
What is diferent in my version?
This recovery is specific for Idol 3 6039 devices, my version have SD Card ( micro sd card ) as main storage, you can partition SD Card and the option to mount the external ext4 partition if you have it in your micro sd card. :highfive:
It have USB OTG and MTP working, showing only the external sd card on PC because internal is not mounted but can be mounted on TWRP. :highfive:
Is easy to flash it, only follow what is write when you execute the exe file. I update the exe file to.
Copy the link to browser and add the id to download the file.
Turn On the phone, turn ON the debug mode and execute it, check the phone for permission, (follow the steps), or open the exe with winrar and extract the image and flash it with ADB.

Hmmm.
It wipe internal storage because is emulated in data, so, if you wipe data... Wipes internal storage to.
The f2fs, if default twrp doesn't support, this one doesn't support to, i think. Try it! Is a bit diferent from the other TWRP...

Hi friend, im a noob here, I need some help
I bought Oneplus 5 Chinese version with Hydrogen Os.
I follow all steps, download the full oxygen rom + OTA on 3 different links and downloaded the adb and minimal fastboot.
i made all steps doing the developer android activation on OS, usb debugging and etc.
i booted it on recovery chosen adb installation and made all prompt commands, when it start to install it failed on 0% and the phone gives me the Installation Failed note, I need to know if the correct rom is that folder or zip that I download on one plus site. when I copy the *.zip or folder to internal storage on the phone it doesn't recognize on that system update menu with local update. I have tried many times and with different forms, what I did wrong?
sorry my bad English because im from Brazil.. thks!

Put the OOS rom in the root directory of your sdcard (not in a subfolder), then boot into recovery and choose install from internal storage. After flashing the rom do a data factory reset and you should be good to go. Don`t know for sure if you have to unlock the bootloader first because its a Chinese device.

The doubt is I really don't know if the correct (FULL OXYGEN ROM) file to copy is a zip file or any other extension file? I downloaded on website, inside it has some folders and some IMG and DAT files.
when you said SD CARD you mean put the zip file inside a REAL SD CARD? or you mean the internal storage on the phone?
i have copied the downloaded zip file on internal storage root, and when I made a boot recovery and chosen the internal storage it finds the zip file but again when I proceed the installation it gives me again the INSTALLATION FAILED MSG..
does the OnePlus5Oxygen_23_OTA_010_all_1707032122_2a134296766a4804.zip on one plus site?
is that the correct file? thks

I meant the internal storage as there is no actual sdcard slot. and yes this OnePlus5Oxygen_23_OTA_010_all_1707032122_2a134296766a4804.zip is the correct file. Do not extract the rom.zip! As i said maybe you have to unlock the bootloader first in order to flash the rom but that is not the case as i read. So put the downloaded OTA.zip on the sdcard, wipe cache and flash it in recovery in install from internal storag and the factory reset. There are several video`s on YouTube on how to do it https://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&rct=...LyJ4Ho&usg=AFQjCNEFn7t35Gdh9Vzxxwfe4oBMs4EH_Q.
