Ok, I'm completely lost with this and have no idea how this can be a thing in the first place:
Last night I got home and noticed that my state of charge on my Axon 7 had quite changed. Checking the battery consumption I've noticed, that for some reason my phone had consumed quite some of its charge due to mobile network signal (missing/searching).
The thing is: Although there's a data SIM in the 2nd slot for a few weeks now (no SIM in the 1st), my mobile network is always turned off since I don't even use it.
Of course I've checked and it's still turned off.
Over the night I turned flight mode on and when going out of flight mode this mornging, mobile network - again - turned on (according to the battery usage diagram)... although still being turned off.
I don't get it. I've restarted the phone, I've turned the SIM on and off again... but still, there's battery drainage from mobile network while it is turned off.
Here's screenshots: https://i.imgur.com/LgZTvDv.jpg and https://i.imgur.com/w8OA21k.jpg
I have the phone for about 6 months now and this is the first time this is happening. I really hope someone knows what's going on here and can point me to a way to fix the issue.
Edit 1: By the way, the last apps I've installed were DU Recorder about 1 week ago and Gboard about 3 days ago.
Edit 2: I uninstalled both of the above mentioned apps. - The red bar changed it's color from this brighter red back to the more dull one (check the screenshot above to see what I mean).
The thing is that what always used most of my battery was the screen. Now my screen is at 21% while RF signal is at 51%.
Do a backup and then factory reset. That happened to Axon 7 about a month ago and that fixed the issue. My phone was always hot and it would drain from 100-0 in about an hour.

You mean connect the phone to the PC to install the drivers and then use some automatically installed ZTE software to do the backup or do I have to do the backup all by hand?

There is a backup utility in the stock rom. It allows you to backup the apps and then the data separate. I've used it a couple times and it works really well.
Settings>advance settings>backup & reset > factory data reset>backup & restore

I see, thanks! Am I required to put an SD card in to store the backup for it to work? I'm asking because I don't have one.
It would be best to use a micro SD card, even it it's just a cheap 16gb one. I does say you can do the backup to a PC using the USB cord, but a SD would be easier.

Alright, thanks a lot for the information you've provided! I might give that a try.

Unfortunately, I didn't read a warning thread about *not* using the Sony Update Service until after I'd started the service for my X1a.
I've been hooked up to the USB with coloured bars for about five minutes, with no progress being noted and nothing changing on the Update Service screen.
Am I in trouble here, or does it just take a while?
12 minutes and no changes.

I guess this is the absolutely first time you connected the usbcable while the phone is in bootloader?
Did an automatic driver install occur when you connected the cable?

It's the first time I've done it with an X1, or any Sony. I've flashed many Synergy and WinMo Motorolas.

I think it must've used the drivers already installed. I heard the connection and detection routines.
7:29 PM to 8:13 PM...that's a long time.
Antivirus and firewall is turned off.

If you didn't see any change at all since you connected the phone I think it's safe to disconnect it and reboot the phone.
This has happened to me, the first time I tried the service.
But If it stopped midway in flashing It's not good..
I'm no pro but as long as the bootloader is intact you should be able to reflash the phone even if the first flash didn't go well and the phone wont boot.
Maybe someone more experienced can shed some light on this...
and while you wait you can search the ROM area for answers.
Xperia ROM Development
Re-started it and everything went well.
Visibly snappier, compared to the way it was behaving before.
Thanks for the commiseration.

No problem, I'm just glad I could show some support in this obvious dark hour...
lol, mine is stuck on the forever detecting phone as well. I might just give up, and use my home computer, which is the one I use to flash phones anyway.
my work computer is vista.
Mine is stuck 'identifying' For 15 minutes now... Someone with the same problem?
vista seems to have probs always..... xp works ok ..
I observed the same experience as well. first attempt will always appear hang at the bootloader, w/o any activities (which is a blessing in disguise, imagine stuck halfway into flashing). Disconnecting & connecting again do the trick. I'm on Vista...
I realize that SEUS is "safer" in terms of support, but why don't you just download the image file you need and flash from the memory card?

looking at your screenshots, I would think there might be something wrong with your battery or related circuitry.
no way a normal phone would have its battery depleted that much given the percentages consumed by the shown processes.
I only received my phone 8 days ago, and initially I found my phone was unable to go into deep sleep, but I wasn't sure if it was because of some of the apps I had installed. however, it was never as bad as yours; and also after I rooted my phone and made a few tweaks, my phone would go into deep sleep just fine afterwards.
so, I suggest you contact your seller and show them your screenshots as proof.
good luck!
been sending a few mails to the seller
- i could get a 10 euro gift carf
- i could get a new battery
- i could get 60 % of my money back
phone lasts 4h if i do something
8h if i do nothing
12h if i enable the flight mode
so i did open a paypal conflict & we will see

a phone that lasts 4 hours with some activity, and 8 hours doing nothing, is NOT WORTH more than 10 euro to me -- and i am willing to pay 10 euros for it only as a paperweight.
for your information, with my rooted & tuned Zuk Z1, doing nothing (e.g. at night when I am sleeping but WiFi on all the time ready to receive Gmail, SMS, and WhatsApp) will only deplete my battery by 1% per hour.
so if i were you i would definitely ask for a replacement.
as i said, good luck to you!
[added] the figure i quoted is based on 2 SIM cards too!
should i try to run exodus on it? what would you recommend? ^^

Got told to do a double wipe, didn't help me either (40 % battery left & the phone will last for 2 hours).
Same problem
I have same problem, any fix? I notified this problem after bootloader unlocking and Cyanogen Mod nightly installation , sorry for my bad english xD
For some reason the wifi on my phone is acting strangely, it just started doing so a few days ago but before that it was all fine. Basically what is happening is that my wifi will be really slow to the point of not connecting to websites (Connection timed out etc.) however the wifi starts to work if I turn it off and then back on, but then stops. I really don't want to be doing that every 5 seconds. It used to be fine and then suddenly it started being weird. So basically my phone is quite useless now since I use my phone for everything (I log into my google account with my phone, I need to use the steam app on my phone and other important stuff). The wifi on all my other devices is fine like usual. Bluetooth also says that the bluetooth address is unavailable but I don't use bluetooth so it doesn't affect me but I think it's also to do with my problem.
Currently using Sokkoban's Deodexed ROM.
What I've tried doing:
Removed PurePerformancesX.
Cleared Cache.
Reflashed the ROM.
Flashed to the Official Lollipop update.
Flashed to the Official Marshmallow update.
Rebooted my router.
Reset my router.
Anything else to do?

I've heard about this, it seems it's a common problem among P8 lite users.

It sounds like it could be a faulty wireless card in the phone or the drivers bugged out. Blimin' shame that your warranty is void cause I am pretty sure they would have to fix that for you.
I actually had a very similar thing happen to my old iPhone 4s, wireless just completely died in the end. No regrets about that though, it brought me to android.
Really though, sorry to see you are having trouble with this and I really hope someone here can help you more.

I decided to remove the back cover of my phone to see what the problem could be, but then my screwdriver was too big to open any further. I still don't know where the WiFi + BT antennas are. And since TalkTalk are cool, they said that my warranty lasts as long as I carry on paying my contracts, which is good. However since I'm just out of the 28 day return window I'll need to give them a call so that Carphone Warehouse can repair it for me for free.

Hello everyone!
Well... the story of my Nexus 4:
I have my Nexus since June 23, 2013. In 2016 it started acting up... It randomly shuts down(It will not reboot, only shut down). Power button needs to be pressed hard to power up(to lock-unlock as well)... so I have decided to change the battery. Bought one from a trusted website(they claim is original) for 17,95€. Replaced it. From my tests it was worse than the original. Phone still randomly shuts down , battery % spiking... it would randomly drop 5-10-15% (same for charging). Then I rooted the Nexus and installed a custom rom - Nitrogen-OS-mako-20161230(it will still randomly shut down but not that often). After just 1 month the battery swelled up. Replaced it within the guarantee. Same thing happened after about 3 months to the second battery. I searched on the internet for fixes but no luck... I disassembled the phone again and I installed the original battery that came with the phone and replaced the usb port(maybe this would fix it?)(no it didnt... but it fixed something tho... the power button works smooth again.. dont have to press it hard anymore.. whaaat?), flashed back the original rom 5.1, no root only unlocked bootloader. Still getting random shut downs... at this point I have no more options.
3 days ago I rebooted the Nexus into SAFE MODE. Battery is at 40% after almost 3 days! No random shut downs. WHY?
Can someone explain to me why the Nexus is working like the first day in SAFE MODE?
I have to mention that the Nexus had no apps installed... only the stock ones when it shuts down so... eliminate the possibility of an app causing this.
I dont use it as my main phone but I do have a SIM card in it. I only use an app when I go to the toilet which is Twitch and it works fine in safe mode
So what is safe mode? Why safe mode is so kind to the battery?

Nexus just rebooted by itself into normal mode while it was charging... wtf!!!!!!!
Nexus just rebooted by itself after 43-44 hours (100% battery down to 60% in normal mode).
After just 15-20 min Nexus just shut down by itself doing nothing on it.. just found it like this... what can I say... F... LG and F... this phone... Thread can be closed... If you have the same problem as mine has.. dont bother... F... IT!! Go get a new phone.
I'll advice you to go to your official LG repair store for battery replacement, batteries online are not reliable at all.
Ps: Safe mode in android is just your default apps and settings but no 3rd party apps that you have installed so technically its less resource consuming and hence better battery life.
Hi!
My LG phone is doing weird after i did a factory reset 2 days ago. The battery empty's like a waterfall and the phone is continiuously hot.
I tried to do another factory reset/wipe but i got the same issue again. Even with the battery saver turned on, the phone stays alive for only 3 hours with 12 minutes screen on time.
Screenshot battery usage:

What can i do to fix this?
So i did a reset again, installed all my apps, logged in to them, the only thing that i did not do was place the sim card. And it works perfectly! But the moment i pit the sim in it, the battery drains like crazy again due to 'Android System' using all the resources continiously. What the hell is going on? ??
Did you try to do a factory reset using the power button and the Volume down button. Is it going to make a difference maybe. I usually do a factory reset, once with settings so I can wipe the sd card then I use the power button option, so yes twice. works for me.
Yes that is what i did, after that the issue started. The weird thing is, i used another phone (samsung galaxy s3) and the same thing happened there! I just received a new simcard to see if that was the cause of the problem. I hope this issue is over now, i will message here if it is resolved or not.
Edit: sadly it does not! Android os does still use all of the battery, so the sim swap dis not work. Can this be something related to my google account and the settings that come with it? How can i find out why android os is using so much battery?
Tried another system wipe, checked the APN settings since it only drains while sim is in the phone, but that didnt help either
Are you testing any beta app? Try to exit any beta program and restart your phone... for me works.

No i am not, only using regular apps like whatsapp, facebook and such things. No beta's of any kind. The problem also happened rivht after factory reset. Only placed sim and logged in with my google account and it happened already. If i dont place sim the problem is gone.
I think i found the problem, it seems the LG G6 is not reading the sim correctly sometimes. That would explain the phone eating trough the battery, restarting into safe mode at night, and sometikes giving the error that it cant find all wifi networks due to simcard. I'm afraid its hardware related since a factory reset did nor help.
It could be that your little sim tray holder is deformed, and no longer able to properly align the sim card.
I replaced my sim tray holder after it broke, and things works great. I think they are down to less than $5 on ebay now. I bought two trays just in case the tray breaks again.
