[Q] Help flashing recovery on VS980

All,
Currently running 4.2.2 12b on Verizon LG G2 rooted with ioroot22. I really want to flash CWM and then either slimkat or CM11. Issue is, there are like a million different threads on how to flash recovery. I have no idea which method is the most reliable at this point or where to get the latest recovery build as there seem to be so many different opinions. One thing I'm sure of is that I don't want TWRP based on the bad experiences folks seems to be having. Can someone please refer to the right website/thread where I can get all the info I need? I'm sick of searching all the threads and getting contradicting info.
C'mon folks, just a few pointer please. Thanks!

I have successfully used twice on my D802 in 4.2.2 the .bat method CWM install in the link that I gave you. I've flashed Philz after, in recovery.

FYI, used freegee. Worked flawlessly. Flashed CWM 6.0.4.7 with no cache wipe issues or anything. Works just like it did on my galaxy nexus.

Ok so what I think is that your phone is rebooting because of an app for which you have granted SU permission. You have exposed framework? Or wanam?

You have what is commonly called Random Reboot often referred to as RR. This normally down to some issue with your Kernel or something installed. Try another kernel or try another ROM.

Hi, i want to root my phone after i got the 6.0.1 android there is any way to do it? i searched in the threats but i only find for 5.0 android?
I've heard something about 'systemless root' by Chainfire. But haven't tried it yet. Here is a link:
http://www.xda-developers.com/chainfire-releases-root-for-android-6-0-without-modifying-system/
If anyone has any luck with rooting Galaxy A5(2015) running on 6.0.1, please let us know.

Latest SuperSU causing bootloop - Stock 7.1.1

So decided to flash stock and update to 7.1.1. Everything was going perfect until I grab the latest SuperSU from chainfires set install it in TWRP then reboot. I keep seeing the ZTE logo then it vibrates, reboots. It just keeps doing that
The version I just tried installing was: SR3-SuperSU-v2.79-SR3-20170114223742. Where are the versions that are compatible with Axon 7. Literally, everytime I install the latest version of the program it bootloops until I start all over. I remember that the Pixel phones had SuperSUs that were made for it. I am wondering does the same thing apply here? is there a confirmed one that works?
2.79, no sr.
which one sir? which one? ill buy you a cookie
@lafester Is there a known issue with SRx (SR3 is most current) not working properly on this device? Does forcing systemless root using the echo command resolve installation issues?
@macboss, I think he means this
5,925,542 UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.79-20161211114519.zip
hey guys. i appreciate the help and all but i, and probably others, would like to root their phones after updating to 7.1.1.
would you mind posting a link to the best working SuperSU you got? It would mean a lot. Thank you.

I have problem with this version. After installing and trying root, I got message that I'm missing su binary and I need to re root it.
Does anyone has this problem?
EDIT: Fixed, problem was in F2FS data partition.
So no F2FS for data partition, and use SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/supersu/download/zip/SuperSU-v2.79-201612051815.zip
