This is for QHD resolution! and make screen zoom from settings ''medium''!
Here is step by step guide
FIRST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED AN ALTERNATIVE NAVIGATION APPLICATION, I use Edge Gestures but All in one gestures is fine also.
1. Install ADB from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
2. Enable developer settings and enable usb debugging
3. Connect phone to PC
4. Put this command to adb: adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=*
5. Put this command after the first one: adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,-168
6. Enjoy:
BUGS!
Lockscreen shortcut icons will be shown half.
Google photos delete confirmation diolog wil not be fully shown but you can rotate for deleting or you can just tap to the bottom right part of the screen and it deletes it.
credit: @xdeepS for the adb command
Just tried it and it works like a charm for now!
Just a question: what are the abd commands if I would like to be back to the stock navbar?
EDIT: found!
adb shell wm overscan reset
Thanks anyway!
Happy to hear I could help!
Amazing, you could keep screen zoom to small just reconfiguring the gestures app to repositionate the navbars. Done this on mine S9 and working like a charm, no more navigations bars !!! Thank U very very much
P.S: Using oreo 8.1 launcher
Does this work also on my s8 and on my note 8?

So, had to reset the overscan because other apps r not working correctly like games and whatsapp bcause you wont be abble to return to home screen, even that gestures are enabled. What I did was still in immersive mode, return all values to 0 nd keep the gestures on. When I do the gestures all work ok and the navbar appear and disappear within seconds. But remember im using oreo 8.1 launcher, the stock launcher wont hide navbar on home page.:good: trust me, even more better than default, cant use stock anymore
Sorry my english
Been using this for a while, and while Navbar is completely hidden (I was using like ~130 pixels) it was not working properly in some apps (I had buttons that were opened under the screen, unable to press them, or only partly visible). Now I just use XDA Navigation gestures which hides the navbar AND also has gestures all in one....
For Redmi S2
adb shell wm overscan 0,0,0,-82
Issue with this method... Need a fix
I have a slight issue, when I used to type a message it used to push every thing up so I could see what I am typing, but now I can't see what I am typing. Is there a fix for this ?

And I try to reset the overscan now, it seems reseted but when confirmation windows pop up I cannot see the options. I've tried overscan 0,0,0,0 and overscan reset but nothing..
Other phones
Can this method be used for other phones with Android Oreo?
There's a little problem. After reseting the nav-bar, it doesn't stick up. It's always hiding even if i push that damn point . Solutions?
Nevermind, found solution.

Hi, I have a stock TP2 running SPB Mobile Shell.
Shell responds to the device when it's tilted which screws up the screen layout - I'm guessing Shell isn't deigned to be rotated.
So I want a way to have shell not rotate. I've tried Gyrator but I can't seem to understand what kind of rule to setup and have tried many that don't work.
Basically, HELP!
I just don't want the screen to rotate when on any of the SPB Mobile Shell home screens. Any help would be appreciated

What about a manual rotate app? try this one...
http://rapidshare.com/files/363032589/Rotate_Left_Button.CAB
It makes your left home soft button into the rotate button but it also gives you an app that rotates the screen when you press it.

If you turn TF3D/Sense back on, on the settings tab there's g-sensor settings, and clicking that presents you with a switch to disable the g-sensor, at least on my phone it's there (an option I don't find in regular WM settings).
I just checked, and that setting is also available in both the Rhodium/HD Settings Tool, and HD Tweak...but I couldn't find it in Total Commander (just a polling interval).

There is also an app... look in your start menu. Place that icon on your shell homescreen and there you go... probably not the fix your looking for but maybe temporary.

Some parts are, I am unable to do things like remap buttons etc and it crashes if you try to do any quick management editing (which is to be expected). On the plus side, the developer has just ordered the 3t and is planning on making a full;y comparable version for us

That's right. But I still have to wait to have device in my hands as it's currently hard for me to assess what it will take and whether it is worth to work on Marshmallow version considering 3T is receiving Nougat in couple of weeks, which seems to be quite different (hopefully more AOSPish) compared to OOS 3.5.
The only one I seem to find a use for is "Ringer and notification unlink" so that I can separately set notification levels. It adds the slider with the others in settings/sound.

Yes - this is what i use now. Will take some getting used to, but seems easy enough to adjust to.
I'm using Nova Prime and double tap on and off work fine. No need to use notification bar to tap off here. I can double tap any empty spot on any screen and it will turn off.
If it doesn't work like that for you - must be something else.
1. Do you have Nova Prime, or Free?
2. Do you use live wallpaper?

This does work. I use the stock launcher. There's just not a lot of open real estate on my home screen. Also doesnt work outside of home screen (that I've noticed). So status bar has been OK.
When XPOSED eventually comes to Nougat there was an option in some of the old G3/G4 Tweakboxes (which ran on the G5, V10, etc) to double tap the navigation bar as well as the status bar.
I got very accustom to that so hopefully that will become an option in the future as well.
For now, I am using Nova Prime Double tap to run a tasker task that executes a shell command (as root) to emulate the power button press. This will turn off the display and still allow you to wake it back up with the fingerprint sensor since other methods make use of the device administrator and require a pin/password/knock-code to unlock.

well if you mean by the navigation keys these: ▲ ◼ ⏺ buttons at the bottom then it defeats the purpose if it cant hide them with nova
Like I said in other versions of LG you could hide these in the apps you want, you would just scroll up from the bottom of the screen to have them show up.
Unless what you meant is that it doesnt hide them once only its on the home screen.

The navigation keys do not have an option to be hidden with certain apps like you could do with other phones. Not sure why they removed that functionality, maybe it will be put back in with future updates.

Much of the time that they aren't hidden, it's because the app you're using is in 16:9 mode. Go into the adaptive display settings and switch it to 18:9.

No, no matter what ratio mode I use, the navigation touch buttons cannot be hidden unless you go full screen on youtube or the camera, any other app you use the navigation is always there, besides, its a known option that existed before in the home touch button option menu but now its removed in the LG G6.

Would it be possible to hide them through ADB?
Theres no longer an option to hide home touch buttons per app..
You can do this with adb and chose wich app you want to hide the navigation buttons for, i was missing this on my s8 cause i had a g5 before. Look for immersive mode in the s8 section you should find it
---------- Post added at 12:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:55 AM ----------
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.full=com.sfr.android.mobiletv,com.sfr.android.moncompte,com.instagram.android,com.google.android.youtube,com.nbaimd.gametime.nba2011
Just an exemple; but full immersive mode remove the nav buttons AND the notification bar, but you can replace full immersive with something else to hide the nav bar only.

You need to have ADB on your computer:
Hide Status Bar only type:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.status=*
Hide Navigation Bar only type:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.navigation=*
Hide Both Bars type:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.full=*
Back to normal/default state:
adb shell settings put global policy_control null*

I found a pretty easy way to use old OnePlus Gestures on OnePlus 5T running OxygenOS 10
No root required
1. Download this Settings Editor app
2. Open it
3. Choose "System Table"
4. Search for "op_gesture_button_side_enabled"
5. Set its value to "0"
Done! I tested it on a OnePlus 5 and it worked fine. To revert you'll have to set "1" to that property

Funziona perfettamente. Mille grazie
The fact that this can be changed so easily makes me wonder why OnePlus just didn't add a switch to make this an option.
Anyway, thank you very much for saving my Android experience. I loved the classic op gesture because it works perfect even with a bulky protective case while on the other hand the new Google gesture is impossible because I can't touch the screen at the required position with my thumb.
