Hi all
I noticed that the battery runs out quickly.
It holds only 12 hours in normal use.
While I was at 48 hours with my Huawei mate 8
Is there a solution to this problem?
I have attached the phone version if it can help.
Wait bro, your firmware version is outdated, latest Lollipop firmware is 2.20.40.184, but yours is still running 2.20.40.90, update your firmware first then compare your battery stats from your previous firmware version.
How long is your SoT(Screen on Time)? Well, on a daily usage my Zenfone 2 lasts for up to 6hrs SoT(with wifi browsing, some gaming, 2g/3g texting including standby for almost 12hrs as well) so i think your experiencing average for this kind of handset.
Also note that you've posted on a wrong section, this thread should be posted on the "Q&A, Help, Troubleshooting section".
This phone generally has **** battery life for majority of people, there are every few people who see any decent battery life (like above). There are no solutions for good battery life for this phone.

I wouldn't recommend somebody (even less a new XDA user) to flash a beta firmware. Only the user itself should decide if he /she really wants to try beta software.

Comparing this phone's battery to a Huawei battery is like comparing a Prius to a Tesla. I can go 3 days on my Huawei Ascend Mate 2 but it's a 4000mAh battery and a Snapdragon chip compared to a 3000mAh battery and an Intel chip. The ZF2 battery will never get better unfortunately
I was getting some serious battery drainage on stock rom - I upgraded to the CM13 ROM with Android 6.0.1 - Set it on Root and installed Greenify + Xposed Framework - Smart Booster - Battery Doctor - Configured them all and keep my brightness on low when in doors and automatic when outside. My battery seems to be holding much better now. I haven't used that Stock rom Beta release of 6.0.1 yet so I'm not sure if that'll help. Good luck!
P.S - I only installed the mini version of GApps.

Check for the running apps and disable those that are not of use to you.. There are apps that run in the background, just run those that you think you will be using always.

Disable touch gestures, the ones that let's you double tap to wake it up, I disabled mine and during the night, with wifi on, it only used 1% battery.
Also, disabling LED notifications would help.
To replace the double tap to lock screen I use Greenify's widget, need to find a way to let me wake it up by volume buttons too.
Any other battery saving tips would be great.

But still, that's very good. I probably won't get this low because I have crappy reception at home, but I'll check it anyway.
zenfone 2 is best for performance lag free most of the time .....but battery life sucks.... and about that ferrari and prius thing... my friends sony xperia z series especialy z ultra has awesome battery life it is also quad core processor phone ...it is also a beast phone ...but there stamina mode saves a lot of battery ... 8 to 10 hr SOT is normal for z ultra..... so clearly power managment is very poor for zenfone 2. i am using marshmellow cm 13 .. greenify... .. overnight drop is 3 to 4 %... but as soon as i start using it battery starts to drain quickly..... i have searched whole xda forum.. but everybody is talking about wakelocks, thats fine but during actual use also it is consuming a lot of battery....i am tired of searching
Anyone has the most battery friendly combination of ROM and kernel? I've tried almost every MM ROM but doesn't satisfy me. I just bought a new battery recently for my D802 and still draining fast. Im using latest bumped twrp. I have never had an SOT of more than 4 hours of normal usage. Now I'm barely getting 3 hours sot and it sucks. So any tips will be appreciated thanks!

I've tried that too. What kernel tweak you use and settings?
I should have mentioned that I have been using the Lambda Domino Stable kernel and the efficiency battery profile. I also use Greenify for doze on the go (aggressive doze).
I use PA with the original Kernel. Battery life is for me like Stock KitKat.

I once use beanstalk and the battery is really fine but when i changed ROM and install again Beanstalk battery was never the same. I don't know what went wrong. I've always used greenify.
Using PA with Lambda Hipnose Beta 9 kernel right now. Using lots of alarm/wakelock blocks etc with amplify and greenify. Battery life seems okay, but I'm asking myself if exodus, beanstalk or resurrection remix would do better? Did anyone try and can make a direct comparison? I care more about battery life than about performance tbh. Thanks in advance!

crdroid was great, with aggressive doze !
Currently on XOSP with latest lambda beta. Averaging 4hours SOT from 100 to drain. Basically lasts a day with minimal gaming and mostly web surfing, youtube and facebook. Performance kinda lags but tolerable.

Yes, even offlate couple of weeks ago, i rooted my moto x play and flashed LineageOS N 7.1.1. But the battery drain is so fast and it makes you feel you just have a 1200mah battery!!! (the truth is mine has 3630 mah gigantic battery).
BTW, somebody suggested to have Greenify, and this improved a little. Not fully satisfied with its performance though. My battery charge is not even lasting a full day!!!
Any suggestions guyz.

stock rom is the best but..
definitely stock rom for battery life is the best
Custom roms are leechers battery :crying:, after trying and trying roms i´ve found that using kernel governors " on demand" works pretty well, always you dont play videogames :cyclops:
Below are screenshots of my SOT (using Slim ROM and Faust Kernel). The SOT measured with PCMark "Work 2.0 battery life" test. I started the test when the battery was at 85%, and it stopped automatically when the battery reached 20%. Everything else was running as normal - lots of WhatsApp messages coming in (no popups) and even an incoming phone call (which I didn't answer).
Adaptive brightness is enabled, with the brightness level set at 40%. The test ran overnight (note that the screen is on, and active the whole time - basically, it keeps running all sorts of benchmarks over and over again, with the screen redrawing continuously).
Result: from 85% to 20% took 11 hours and 54 minutes. This equates to about 17 hours SOT .
Can you try that with AospExtended ROM V4.4 and with the same kernel?

Outside of battery benchmarks, how long was your SOT?
Everybody has different user scenarios & different methods of using a phone.
This SOT of yours is not using mobile data network, only WiFi, correct?
Try to do a test using LTE or WCDMA only, without WiFi and share the result with us.
Cheers!
Faust Kernel with governor tweaks on the newest RR build and i can easily get 10 hours of SOT, sometimes 12 hours
As already indicated, everything was running as normal (which includes WiFi, bluetooth, and LTE enabled), and the PCMark battery test was running on top of it all. Performance benchmarks running non-stop for 12 hours on a phone is objective enough for me. YMMV.
I've been playing around for a few days now to find a good balance between battery and a good performance. LineageOS 14.1 with Vulcan kernel, currently at 8h SOT with 35% battery left. I usually just install a kernel and let it run on defaults so still learning what things do.
In Miui with Velvet, is not precisely SoT (actually it is because how the hell am i suppose to play with the screen off lol) but i'm really surprised to see how long the battery lasts even playing games.
Yes i was on Wi-Fi all the time but still... i would test LTE but i don't have , i just go up to 3G .

SlimROM - stock kernel.
good news! Someone at xiaomi reddit directory said the version 12.0.3.0 fixed their battery problem.
so i bit the bullet and installed, and bingo!
2% batery use in 6 hours of sleep! (200mah consumption)
no other changes made. rooted, unlocked, gazillions of apps installed (and fully xiaomi-debloated)
will test SOT now
I have mixed results, I've update to this version 2 weeks ago, I'm on Pilot Program (Beta tester) and for few day got a better batter performance in idle, but then some Xiaomi Apps were updated and the drain started . Notice I'm using the alpha version for the launcher and also I'm using the last version for the App Vault. So I'm not sure if one of this apps caused the drain. 2 days ago I've update some apps and idle consume improved a lot. Share with us your SOT.
i got almost all xiaomi-related apps removed/disabled, only staying essential ones for proper android usage.
app vault is removed and i use nova launcher

2% should be 80maH, 5% equals 200mah if capacity is 4000, less if battery is used

i think percentage right after unplug is not consistent (stay a while at 100%) and below show a different % usage from main battery %
you are right, shoud be 5%.
but calculating by the mah, is 5 days in stand-by
before, android system alone would consume entire battery in 3 days
testing SOT, full battery, started a 2 hour movie. mxplayer, HW decoding, max brigthness, high volume
2 hour later, 78% battery.
so, most likely, 8~9h SOT, at least in this test. will test more when i get free time from work.
Edit: 2h20m using reddit, medium screen brigthness, 20% battery decrease
will let run 1080p youtube video running fullscreen (at half brightness) until battery is dead
