S7 edge pink line issue,Please Help - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Is pink line issue in s7 edge is very common or some users face it,Which one should i buy exynos or snapdragon?
How to check that the phone dont have defect if i buy a used one?

The only way to check the issue would be to look on the device, if you can see a pink line (touching at the corners and press a little to be sure)
If you want to use custom Roms/Root your Device, you should go with a Exynos Device.

AMOLED Light "Bleed" on the sides

Hey guys,
I'm about to soon pull the trigger on either the Galaxy Note 5 or a S6 Edge+. What I have observed from playing with some display units in best buy is that both screens of both edge phones (s6 edge, s6 edge+) have this weird light glow, or light bleed in the curved edges. I had the phones on high brightness, and was mostly on a white background (browser). It somewhat bothers me, and it makes me want to pull the trigger on a Note 5 even faster. However I would like to know if this issue is widespread to all phones, even the international models.
Another question, do you guys believe that the Edge+ will have better development than the Note 5?

Back light bleeding is normal in some circumstances but if you get easily annoyed by that then maybe you should run some test first before purchasing a phone.
Regarding the matter between Edge+ and note 5. I believe that they will feed both devices the same treatment. Since focusing only in one will agitate the opposite user. imo
Edge+ has the auto brightness bug , quite annoying

maybe it's just a user bug.
He might be taking about the new power save option that does not allow you to manually deselect the screen.

Why is no one talking about the color shifting on the display?

I'm shocked to see no one mentioning this, I can only think of Erica griffin's review for the s6 edge.... the s6 edge had the same issue and unfortunately the s7 edge has it too :crying: , the display has one fatal flaw in my opinion , there's very visible color shifting on the "edges" you can see very visible blue lines on the each side of the display, where the glass is curved , it's VERY apparent on every app with a white bakcground like the browser, calendar, messaging app :crying:
Doesn't it bother you? For me it's an absolute deal breaker :crying:
Doesn't bother me. I OCD about things, but that wasn't one of them.

Curved glass will always reflact light. Light changes direction, leading to a change in color due to the change in waveform.

It's physics, how can you be upset about this?
Sounds like you need to get a regular S7 then. I have an s6 edge and I've never been bothered by it and it certainly won't stop bothering me on the S7 edge.

I'm more worried about the infamous pink tinting issue present with the S6 line.

The think is I really like phablets , I have a nexus 6p currently and I don't want to wait for the Galaxy Note 5 , the s7 edge specs are already perfect, perfect size, I hate that I obsess about certain things, but I cannot unsee that color shifting
I don't know why are you calling it a fatal flaw, maybe you don't like it, but it's not a flaw, stop trying getting attention, buy another flawless phone so now you know why nobody is talking about it,the problem is in your head sorry
What color shifting?
I think you're seeing things.
Like others have said, it's physics.
Plus Erica Griffin's nit picking has become more annoying than informative. I stopped following her a long time ago.

If it's a deal breaker for you then wht are you even talking about it? If your not buying one then why post about it?
Fricken waaaaa!!! Please don't buy one. As for Erica, she is a pro at nit picking and creating something from nothing.

Wait, are we talking about the slight "blue" on the sides caused by the fact that on each side it is tapered? Ummm, that isn't a flaw, it's physics like many have stated here. I nit pick over many things (I packed up and returned three 65" UHD TV'S in 2 weeks over "minor" issues.) and I can't understand the point of this thread. It is not a color that is displayed or "lines", it is there because the shape of the screen changes so obviously so would the appearance of anything being displayed on the edges. Wait, does the OP even own one? Pretty sure the solution in not getting an edge variant.

dude, you need to, like, relax your eyes in order to see it. totally.
it is quite a non-issue, in my opinion.

Relax. Erica has relented and even called it a "feature" in one of her vids. She has accepted it...I hope you find the will to accept it also. Stay strong.
I didnt notice the blue lines till reading this thread. You have to look close to see them. Not a deal breaker screen is still gorgeous.
Erica needs to use devices to tell you how good the screen is I use my eyes. She's always nit picked on previous amoled pentile screens even tho the only way to tell it was a pentile screen was using a magnifying glass!! Most people including her said amoled screens are the best especially when comparing side by side to other phones but she still complained about something that isn't visible with the naked eye. As for the s7 edge.. It's a curved screen.. If you think the curve is a flaw you should get the s7. The curv will always have that "flaw" when the phone is looked at from a certain angle.
S7 has the best display of any phone. Measured. By a professional:
http://www.displaymate.com/Galaxy_S7_ShootOut_1.htm
Due to the way the glass/touch-lamination is done and due to the polarization filter, ALL phones so far show some shifting when viewed at an angle.
Regardless, S7 has the best display right now that money can buy.
You can always opt for a crappier display, like the one on iPhone (tested inferior).

That's not what I said :/ , I just said she's the only one mentioning it, I just said it's a deal breaker for me, then again I am extremely picky and susceptible to those things because I'm a designer , I spend hours trying to fix sharp edges, looking at screens and so on ...

Screen glue visible?

I have the S6 Edge and I want to know if the S7 Edge suffers from the same issue.
If I look at the screen (with any app that has a white background e.g. Settings) I can see patches all over it. Not scratches, but patches. Kind of like an orange peel effect. It's not a serious problem but just a little annoying. I also have the regular S6 and it has no such issues. In fact I prefer the regular screen in terms of quality.
But if you have the S7 Edge, please let me know if you have this issue.
Much appreciated.
Did you get a refurbished s6? I can't see any of those issues with my s7
No it was brand new, sealed. My S6 doesn't have it, only my S6 Edge has it. So you have no issues with the screen at all then? I'm considering getting the S7 Edge.

Screen faults on Galaxy S7 Edge

Hi all,
Has anyone had problems with white horizontal lines and flickering on their Galaxy S7 Edge?
I bought mine from Samsung's UK shop online. I've tried on numerous occasions to contact Samsung UK's support, telephone, online chat, email etc. They don't seem interested in helping, even though the phone is in warranty. They don't even reply to emails...
I've twice been asked to call the online sales number +441628 918334. On both occasions I've been told that they are not allowed to replace faulty devices and I have to ship the device and headset back and claim a refund.
So basically if your device goes faulty, even in warranty you'll never get another S7 edge....
Thats a load of crap
should I have another go at them? It is odd, generally companies arrange a courier to pick up the faulty device and swap for a working one.
amoled screen quality is a huge issue. i just got my second device today, the screen of both devices is very different, especially in regard to green or pink tint, as well as the stability when looked from low angles.
i made threads reagarding this before, see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/note4-amoled-screen-quality-t2906365
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2463786
what you describe could be the following:
flickering: is due to PWM modulation, which is a energy saving method. some people are more sensitive about that, some less...
white lines: i guess you mean that there are areas (lines) which are more bright then the other parts of the screen. its very subtle an best seen when you move text etc. around the screen. this is mostly due to the glueing process, when the screen is not evenly glued...
hope this helps a bit...
thanks for the info!
This new flashy phone is that flashy it's now like a white strobe light at the bottom inch of the screen. Good job I don't have epilepsy. Will phone them up again after lunch.
Found a complete solution here.
Works like a charm.

BSOD

I have a SM-G935V S7edge that no longer has a display. Blue and green and red LEDs work fine. Back and recent buttons light up. I can even navigate through the phone with sideSync but absolutely no display at all. Bad display board? Can I make necessary repairs with my rock and hammer? Qouted 359.00 for display board replacement. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
For one thing, Wrong forum. There's a specific forum for the Galaxy S7 Edge.
I'm going to assume that you mean the notification RGB led above the display. And if that's the case then that sounds like a bad display. If you try to repair it yourself then you will be in for a nightmare. I can't post links yet but check out JerryRigEverything on youtube for a S7 Edge teardown. As he says in the video, it's not easy, even touching the LCD while removing it will break the LCD and the most likely crack the glass. The replacements for the edge series displays are also very expensive compared to say a replacement iPhone screen.
Replacement Screen Price As of Post:
279.94$ USD on Amazon
