I recently installed the latest version of the Sony concept via flashtool on z3c and everything is correct. My surprise is that this Rom does not support mirrorlink and when wanting to downgrade I find that the mobile does not return information to pc compassion or flashtool ...
The pc detects the z3c, I see its files but companion neither opens the car, nor detects it and if I connect the .mobile off with vol- neither. With flashtool the same thing, it detects my mobile when it tells me to connect it, it communicates with it but it does not return the permission to put it in a new ftf. clearly it is mtp problem or something that la.concept does not have running in the Rom.
I discard drivers and PC, I tried several. How could I restore a stock Rom in these circumstances ... Saying that I have the bootloader closed and can not be opened, that it was never an impediment to change from ftf until I installed the Rom concept from Sony. Thank you

I am putting my problem here as i am a new member.
My PC Suite for X10 was working fine but last week i received firm ware update R2BA024 over the air. After that update, I tried to install PC suite on a new (as i bought a new PC) computer. however, after installation, PC suite gives message for software update, after following all the steps, at the stage where PC suite ask to remove the phone battery for 5 seconds and than connect the USB cable with phone while holding the BACK button, once i follow this step, my computer gets stuck and than i have to re-boot it. I tried installation on a 3rd computer as well to check but problem remains the same. However, if connect to my previous (1st) computer it does not show any message of software update and works well.
Can any body let me know what could be the problem and how i can over come. As presently it seems that I can no longer use PC suite on new computer.
Thanks
Hi.
PC Suite doesn't work with the X10, it's PC Companion you need to install.

I agree wahhhh Can't stop laughing maybe his new with the android phone lol.... any way your x10 every computer is fine and its work flawlessly..ones u connected into your computer it will prompt u first the sdcard and u will see some option and u can install the pc companion coz its already inside the sdcard ohh
Sorry Guys for my mistake!! Its actually PC companion (wrongly mentioned PC Suite). As mentioned in the my question, I was already using it on a different computer and worked fine. Also i installed update service.
But now on new PCs both are not working. I am sure that there is no problem with the PCs as i checked PC companion on 2 different PCs and problem remains the same. Problem started after upgrade from RF 14 to R2BA024
Thanks for your support again

I am using Windows XP professional. I have downloaded the latest version of PC companion version 2.00.142 and SEUS version 2.10.7.15. Both works well with my old PC as they were installed before firmware upgrade OTA to R2BA024. But incase i install these on a new PC and connect phone, PC gets stuck during the process as mentioned above.
ahhhhh!!!!! now i know what's the problem you need to factory reset your phone to refresh all the setting and update....but before that you need to back up your data..... go to settings-sd card & phone storage -factory data reset.... it won't deleted mp3,images,
wile the others to be deleted is contact, files, application downloaded, setting from the network but its ok it will prompt you automatically after you reset the phone....

Thanks for the support. Just one more question - After Factory reset would i be able to receive again the latest firmware - R2BA024

what is the error message you get from pcs that does not work???
I had the same "problem"... Try this - Uninstall PC Companion > download the latest version (http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/pccompanion/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en) > Install new version
I donot get any error messags. After pc companio installatjon it says softwafe update is available. But at at the stage where it ask to remove phone batter for 5sec and than connect phone while holding the back button when i do so computer gets hang. I will try to provide screen shots later as well to give more clear understanding
Well as nothing was going well so i decided to go back to my old computer for a try. I uninstalled Companion and SEUS and than reinstalled PC companion on the my old PC. After reinstall Campanion showed the same message of a software udate available here as well. So I started the upgrade process again and it started downloading, installation was also started with out any problem. However, at the installation finalisation stage (very final stage) i would get a an error message that installation was not succesful and to try again. Tried several times and during this try again process I all most brick my phone as well as at one stage my phone started showing yellow Exclaimation mark (I was almost dead) But than lucky the update process completed and phone rebooted succesfully.
So i went back to new my compture to check it their AND every thing was fine there as well. PC campanion is working perfectly fine on it. I also checked it an a 3rd PC also for the sake of checking and there as well every companion worked fine.
After software upgrade, my phone now also has the option of Sync with Sony web as well as before it only showed the option of sync with gmail.
What exactly was the problem!! am unable to sort it out so far. And I wonder what will happen if there is another upgrade available????
Hello guys
I ran through n no. of threads
I checked the steps for rooting the phone
And i did it accordingly but the "waiting for device" issue still prevails
I downloaded SE USB drivers as well though i don't know how to install them
I've PC companion's 2.0.0 version
I've SuperOneClick's 1.7 version
I'll tell you the steps i followed
1. SuperOneclick started
2. Click ROOT tab
3. Starting ADB... Waiting for status
4. With Unknown sources ON and USB debugging ON, i connect the phone
Even then it says Waiting for device
I read in the forums that it needs Windows Vista or 7
I've Windows XP Professional though 2002 Service pack 2 version
Pls help me get through this problem
Sorry for creating a new thread but i've been trying to this since hours together
What is the exact problem? And how do i check whether I've latest Sony Ericsson USB Drivers?
When it says waiting for device when phone is connected try to turn usb degging off and on or try to root phone with FlashTool
I´ve rooted on XP 2002 Home Edition SP3 without any problems.
Try it the following way, it worked perfectfor my sister´s phone with SE 2.1 (because I don´t know what I did with my phone any more , and we both have an E15i :
First of all, be sure that you are using the computer where you´ve upgraded to 2.1, or download the X8-drivers somewhere (google is your friend!^^)
extract the attached SuperOneClick.
Run the SuperOneClick.exe.
Enable USB debugging on your phone, but do not connect it yet.
Click "root".
let SOC start the ADB and the other stuff.
Connect your phone when it says "waiting for device".
After a few seconds, you should have root.
Try to install Sony ericsson update service...it will install the latest drivers during the installation of the program..
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
Just tried to flash my phone to get rooted 2.3.3 but i can't enter flash mode. I've powered of my phone. Then hold down the "back button" and plug in the USB-cable. The thing is that there is this thing popping up on my PC saying i need drivers for "s1Boot Download", which i can't found (i didn't got a cd with the phone either). What do i do?
First off make sure you have Flashtools Version 0.2.9.1. Then install SEUS this should install the required drivers since SEUS needs you to connect your phone in flash mode the same way flashtools does.
Or go into your flashtools folder then in the drivers folder and run ggsetup-2.2.0.10 and i think that will do the same job?
Or install pc companion off your phone, Settings > Sony Ericsson > Connectivity > Tick the install Pc companion box (no disc came in any box). When you connect your phone to the pc it will auto install pc companion. Make sure to untick after it has installed.
Personally i would install SEUS (to get the drivers) plus if you ever semi brick your phone (unlikely to happen) or you want to reinstall the software (back to stock) SEUS is the best.

My wife´s Z1 (which is on original 5.1.1) has been noughty recently. Phone calls (incoming or outgoing) can not be made because incoming voice sounds are not heard. It does not depend on what phone app is used, also the problem exists on WhatsApp calls as well. The problem is intermittent, comes and goes at random and is active far more often than not. Anyone has a clue to what the cause may be?
Anyway, I decided to try and wipe and upgrade the phone, hoping it is not a hardware fault and will disappear after upgrade. Then came next problem. The PC first reports that the attached USB device is not recognised, then, after repeated connections, the Z1 is just ignored by the Win10 PC. The PC has an old ADB-driver and Lenovo bridge installed since a previous operation on another Lenovo phone. I tried to connect to another Win10 PC without any ADB or Lenovo software, hoping to at least see it in the Explorer, but with eaxactly same result. Anyone has a clue to how I can make the Z1 recognizable again?
Every guide to flashing, be it TWRP or a rom, assumes that the phone is connected to a PC. But I have checked the internal recovery option, and it looks like you should be able to browse to an external SD-card to find a rom zip to upgrade from. Since this option is never mentioned in guides, why ca´nt you use it?

Thanks for the tip. When googling for the driver, I actually found a newer one, v1.1.16.0, which also seems to work. But then a new problem appeared. When I activate Fastboot from the PC, the connection to the Z1 is immediately lost. Z1 will not connect again until I restart both the PC and the Z1. Actually, I found out, that you can set Z1 into Fastboot mode by itself. There is a setting in Developer Options that can do that. When I first connect Z1 to the PC and then enable Fastboot mode from the Z1, the result is the same, the connection to PC drops immediately. So, I cannot proceed to the next step to flash TWRP.
Does anyone have a solution?
Edit: I decided to uninstall the new Lenovo ADB driver and then found that the PC still responds to adb commands. Before I started to work on the Z1, I had another adb driver installed, which I used when working on another mobile phone. I had uninstalled it, before installing the new driver, but either that uninstallation left some remains or the uninstallation I just made left some remains. Now it seems I have some adb driver still in the PC and I have to find out how to locate it.
