I have a H990DS running android 7.0 v10J-IND-XX firmware (build no. NRD90M). Running full stock, no mods.
Recently I noticed that Wifi link speed is reducing to 5 Mbps within few minutes of connecting to my home network. At first few minutes, link speed is 65Mbps after that it is reduced to 5 Mbps. I am sitting at 5-6 feet from the router and the signal is excellent. Not facing the same issue with other mobiles same network.
Tried changing channels in my router but of no use. Please help.

First time poster here. I've searched all the threads and couldn't find anything on my specific issue.
Had the Nexus 10 for about a week and noticed streaming YouTube and movies was EXTREMELY slow. Slower than my Galaxy Nexus on the same WiFi network (my network speed is about 18-20 Mbps). I finally did a speed test and noticed that my 10 was getting awful results...sometimes 3-6 Mbps while sometimes it'd get up to 10-13. My Galaxy Nexus gets between 14-18 Mbps consistently. For my 10, every speed test fluctuates between 3 to 13 and it's just so inconsistent.
Now, I don't have any connectivity issues. It never drops the signal and I'm always connected, it just goes super slow to the point of YouTube videos not loading.
I'm not a wizz, but I use ATT uverse and use the router they give you. I'm not sure if it's a router issue or a Nexus issue.
I've restarted the nexus, turned off the WiFi optimization and turned the WiFi off and on. I had a ton of issues with my nexus 7 (main reason I switched to 10) and I really don't want to ship the device back to Google. Any suggestions??

For starters when you toggle WiFi optimization you need to reboot for the setting to completely turn on/off.
What ROM / Kernel combo are you using? If that is stock then it is likely the router.
ISP routers are usually cheap, they don't handle multiple device traffic very well. One thing you can do is change the stock/auto settings they come with as they are less than desirable. Lower channels/and or Auto Channel (in both 2.4 and 5 GHz), QoS, software static IP, and even Google DNS can all interfere with your router. First go into build.prop and look for the 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 lines and delete them, reboot. Try that. If issues persist go into router firmware and change all the Auto settings to a preset. Even something as simple as your phone logged on at the same time could interfere if the channel is saturated. Take everything off the WiFi except for the n10 and try that. Getting a 3rd party router with dual band / 802.11n support is ideal.
The least likely issue is that it could be a hardware issue with your n10.
I'm on stock 4.4.2 rooted with franco r199 running on the .98 baseband. Using an Asus RT-N56U router (upgraded to the latest firmware - 3.0.0.4.374_979), running on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
When I first setup my router, I can get download speeds of up to 55Mbps using the 5GHz channel. Pretty good. However, in less than an hour, when I do another Speedtest, the download speed drops to 10Mbps.
My temporary fix is to tweak the Control Channel in the router, setting it manually to 40/44/48 etc. Right after a soft reboot of the router, my download speed goes back to 55Mbps.
However, the problem recurs every time, and it's frustrating that I have to always switch around the channels in my router settings page just to get my download speeds back up. The speeds before and after the drop are consistently similar.
I have tested on 2 other phones (Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 and Motorola Atrix). Neither of them has this problem with the router, and when the speed drops to 10Mbps for my Nexus 4, it stays at around 50Mbps for the two phones.
I tried flashing back to the older radios (.48, .84, .97) but the speed does not improve. Still requires the channel changing mentioned above.
I have used Padavan firmware for the router before and the problem recurs as well.
Any suggestion?
Just an update. My WIFI speed will temporarily go back up to 55Mbps when I go under Advanced under Wi-Fi Settings and toggle between Auto, 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
It's looks to me like an alternative temporary fix just like changing the channels in the router settings.
I mention temporary because the speed drops back to 10Mbps after a while.
I'm having an issue with my new xperia x compact where certain networks in my office the wifi will drop to a crawl after a few minutes. The main wifi network at my office is where I seem to have the most problem, speedtest shows Download: 0.86 mbps and upload: 1.19, on my nexus 5 sitting right next to it i get basically 20mbps u/d. If I turn off the wifi and turn it back on I can get those speeds on my first test but every test after that the network drops down to nothing.
Some networks I have connected to and tested I have not seen a problem like this, any suggestions? i'm running the newest firmware 7.1.1
Thanks
EDIT: Problem is resloved it was an issue with the ubiquiti equipment we have, for some reason my device was being put into a restricted group that was limited to 1mbps, once I moved to the main group everything was working perfectly.
I'm connected to the 5 GHz band on my WiFi AC 2X2 MU-MIMO Router but the link speed is only 72 Mbps instead of the 433 Mbps that I should get on WiFi AC 1X1 Client. The problem is not on the router because my laptop with 2X2 network card can connect at 866.7 Mbps link speed.
When I set my router 5 GHz Mode to 802.11ac only my Mi A1 won't connect to the network anymore unless I set it a again to mixed.
ROM: Stock March update with locked bootloader
Router: TP-LINK Archer C60 V2
5 GHz Mode: 802.11a/n/ac mixed
Channel: Auto - 153(155)
Channel width: Auto - 80 MHz

I'll do a factory reset but now i'm going to select Spanish (United States) instead of Spanish (Ecuador) to see if that works without rooting my device and installing Xposed.

I noticed that my mi A1 has problems connetting to 5GHz networks on certain channels (usually >100). Try switching in your router settings your 5GHz WiFi channel to something like 36 or 40 and see if it helps.
I can connect 5GHz wifi with 200 Mbps link speed by install Magisk modules "WiFi Bonding (Qualcomm)"

I can connect to the 5 GHz network but i can't get expected 433 Mbps link speed with a AC Router instead of that it only gets 72 Mbps (WiFi N).
Maybe try a custom ROMto see if it is a hardware issue or a ROM issue? I have no issues with 433mbps on 5GHz AC.
If you can also try another 5GHz network to ensure that it isn't a compatibility issue with your router, then we can narrow down the possible issues.
Did it ever connect at a higher rate than 72mbps? Or have you only had this phone for a short time? Maybe see if you can find an older stock ROM to fastboot flash to ensure it isn't the ROM that is messed up?

In which channel if your 5 GHz network working?
PD: This is my second Mi A1 because the previous one got stolen from my house so when I bought it the first thing that I did was installing Oreo and then a factory reset. Also I bought the new router the next day so I've never tested it with Nougat.
btw have 72mbit/s on 2,4GHz as well :/ tried on stock and LOS 15.1

In 2.4 GHz it's completely normal unless you set your router channel bandwidth to 40 MHz (not recommended if you live in a very populated area with a lot of nearly WiFi networks) and enable channel bonding on your devices and you'll get 150 Mbps.
I unlocked the bootloader and flashed latest fastboot ROM with MiFlash using clean all and lock, I'm still getting 72 mbps but the WiFi signal has improved and also now I have Mi Drop, Mi Community and Mi File Manager preinstalled. I'll try a custom ROM in this days and I'll post the results.

It's on auto, currently channel 36. I have no problem with 433Mbps connection on 5GHz, being about 20 feet away in another room with 2 walls in between. I can be upstairs in a bedroom, not directly above the router, and still have over 300Mbps connection.
This is running a Linksys EA6900 router with XWRT Vortex/Merlin custom firmware, and Mi A1 running Pixel Experience with Franco Kernel R2.

I'll give Pixel Experience a try if Xiaomi doesn't launch Android 8.1 with Project Treble this month.
Hi, i have the phone 1 when ever I use a wifi 4 router internet internet speed is significantly low like 800 kbps to 2 Mbps on a 100 MBPS internet.
When I checked with router it says wifi power saving mode is on by phone.
Anyone know how to access engineering mode?
Can i disable wifi power saving some how?
Even I am facing the same issue. my one plus shows 65 to 85 Mbps but nothing phone shows less than 1 Mbps

Changed wifi to 802.11 n mode only and using 40 MHz band right now speed improved to 25-30 Mbps but never found a solution to this my OnePlus 7 next to me constantly hit 85-90 mpbs from same place and connected to same WiFi.
And i don't know what is causing this issue yet.
I seen only with wifi 5 GHz the phone wifi is working fine but if you connect to 2.4ghz speed is very bad.

Same it work for 1 to 2 times in speedtest results shows high speeds but drops to 1-3mbps instantly.
Currently I'm getting 30 Mbps by following above method can you try once and see if 802.11 n only not working try 802.11 G + N it is also working fine for me.

Yeah i am using 2.4(B+G+N) one tweak i did now is set channel width to 20MHz or 40MHz instead of 20/40 and now back to 70 to 90 Mbps now its not dropping ensured by disconnecting also restarting device

I am facing the similar issue.how did u solve ur problem?
I use a wifi6 router so my phone has almost 700 MBps download in same room with the router and between walls I have almost 600 MBps . ISP provider is set on 1GB . Those results are by default settings on my phone .
There is under developper options one particular setting about internet connection reffering to " limit network bandwith download " which is applied to all networks that phone is connecting to . There are some limits like = No limits , 128 kbps , 256 kbps , 1Mbps , 5 MBps and 15 MBps . Choose NO Limits .
Mine No limits is by default .
It is known that bandwith on 2,4 GB band is much lower than 5GB . Also router must know and deal with MiMo wich Nothing Phone is capable . Even more there are plenty of WiFi analyzer apks that help you to choose the best channels and/or band on both 2,4 GB and 5 GB band of router . I must say between 3 new phones I use now , Nothing Phone has the best modem radio chip .
I guess you all faced to some router problems . Phone is fine , except that limit set under developper settings which like I said is set to NO Limits but check it out
