Hey everybody. I would like to start a global thread about Mugen 3000 battery REVIEWS. I would like to ask the moderators of this Forum to try and keep this thread tidy as in let's only keep the reviews here, and the general questions in other threads.

Mugen 3000 Review
Ok... I'll go first.
My two Mugens got here 2 days ago. I got a 3000 and a 1500.
Let's focus on the 3000.
- Back cover: GPS flap is a FAKE. No camera protection lens. Shiny, non-rubberized back (I like it better this way) with 4 little legs to keep it floating a bit above the surface (you hear the speaker better).
- Battery: double size, heavier than the standard.
THE REVIEW ITSELF WILL BE A SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE INDICATORS AND USAGE TOTALS.
I will keep updating this post of mine as I evaluate the performance of this battery.
Keep in mind that I am a BATTERY FREAK and I test batteries to PERFECTION.

CHARGE CYCLE 1 - FACTORY DEFAULT
2008-03-26
- Battery came loaded at 63%. After 2 days I'm stuck at 15%. I spoke about 20 minutes on the phone and used the GPS for about 15 minutes. I worked on it about 1 hour adding contacts and such.
- I installed Battery Status for a more correct measurement of the battery but I never saw it disagree with the measurement of the system (in the tray).
- As I said, I am now STUCK at 15%. It was 15% at 16:00 and now it's 23:00 and it's still 15%. Weird. I suppose that it's better than what others described (they needed to reset or remove the battery for the device to realize that there is still some juice in it). We'll see what the following days have to say about this.
2008-03-27
- Battery Status sucks. The program does NOT DETECT CORRECTLY the battery usage, nor does Windows. Today I woke up with my battery at 7%. I soft reseted. Same reading. I shut down Windows and started again. Same 7% reading. I removed battery (with Windows turned on) and put it back again. New reading: 15%. Now after 1 hour I'm at 9% and holding. Almost 3 days of usage with the factory battery. I spoke about 20 more minutes.
- BATTERY DEAD after 2.5 days. Activities total: ~40 minutes phone, ~15 minutes GPS, ~2 hours screen usage (writing / reading). No WiFi, No BlueTooth.

CHARGE CYCLE 2 - FIRST FULL CHARGE
2008-03-28
- Full charge this night. 19:00 - 04:00, for a total of 9 hours, just to be sure I respected the instructions for the battery. But it was charged in about 3.5 hours, with about 1.5 hours more than the standard battery. So it charges its capacity pretty fast. Let's see how long it lasts. So far, I'm at 95%. No conversations yet, pretty much no usage. 5% gone in 10 hours, mostly stand by.
- After only 21 hours since the charge, I lost 24% of the battery. I did some text editing for about 30 minutes and about 17 minutes of talk time. I'm pretty disappointed by this relatively "standard" consumption.
2008-03-30
- Two more days passed. I am now at about 64 hours since the charge, so almost 3 days. I used the GPS for about 30 minutes yesterday and talked for about 10 more minutes in total (I don't talk a lot). But the battery is pretty damn low, 28%. I expect it to start dying tomorrow evening. I'll probably remove it and put it back again to see a correct reading.
2008-03-31
- Fourth day approaches its end and I'm stuck at 15%. It appears that my Mugen 3000 has something with this 15% value. It spends a lot of time at 15%. I read that you can stop the device from shutting down when the battery is almost dead by tweaking the registry. I will write the solution here if it proves to be valid. UPDATE: Now at the end of the day, I'm left with 4% juice. I hope there is more under the hood. Today I spoke for about 30 minutes and did no more than 10 minutes of text editing.
2008-04-01
- It's 02:16 (AM) and now it's 94 hours after the full charge. After 5 minutes of talk battery went to 1%. I was too curious about how much there really is left so I removed the battery and put it back. First reading was 44% but it decreased rather fast to 42%. I'll see how it is in the morning. UPDATE: morning, 35%. 10 minutes of talk time so far.
2008-04-02
- At the middle of this day, the Mugen 3000 still holds on. 15% battery after 5.5 days, 10 more minutes of talking. This funny 15% again... been holding already for a few good hours.
- Day end... almost. Battery at 12%. 5 more minutes of talking. So I'm close to 6 days. The Mugen is definitely kicking ass apparently.
2008-04-03
- Only 2% left of my battery now in the morning. Roughtly 6.3 days passed since the charge. I spoke for 20 more minutes.
- BATTERY DEAD after 6.5 days. Activities total: ~102 minutes phone, ~30 minutes GPS, ~40 minutes hours screen usage (writing / reading). No WiFi, No BlueTooth.

CHARGE CYCLE 3 - SECOND FULL CHARGE
2008-04-05
- I full-changed it yesterday at about 09 in the AM. Now, after 30 hours (so ~1.3 days) I'm at 69% after 15 minutes of talking and 15 minutes of screen usage (reading / writing). Not such a great number really...
2008-04-06
- After 2.2 days I am at 56%. This is well within the reasonable 20% lost per day I got used with when using the standard battery. I only talked for 9 minutes today so far, and pretty much didn't use the phone for anything else. Since I didn't use the GPS, I find it the ok-ish level of the battery quite explainable. It's good to use the phone like this because I will make a review which is centered on exclusive Phone usage. And right now I'm happy with how things are.
2008-04-07
- Battery @ 31% after 3.2 days and 6 more minutes of talking. I'm satisfied with this so far and expect the battery to last for about 36 more hours until it first dies. This should take me to 5 days. We'll see if I reach the 5 days and how does Windows behave with the registry tweak I made last week. If it auto-shuts down again it sucks. It means I'll have to take the battery out and put it back again every 4 or 5 days, which sucks!
2008-04-08
- Guess what's the battery consumption today. 15%, of course. The famous 15%. It was 15% 12 hours ago, it's the same now. I expect it to start dying really soon though. I talked for 22 more minutes today so far and 4.2 days passed since the full charge. EVENING UPDATE: After 16 more minutes of talk I'm crushed at 7%. However, I will not remove the battery and put it back again to get a real reading. I will wait to see if the registry tweak works or not.
2008-04-09
- After exactly 5 days, I got 40% left. Today I spoke for 15 minutes so far. UPDATE: evening at 5.5 days, battery left: 28% after 11 more minutes of talk.
2008-04-10
- Exactly 6.1 days @ 11%. Pretty disappointing really, considering that I haven't used the GPS at all. But I talked for 51 more minutes, so that is probably what drove the battery down. UPDATE: At 6.5 days I got only 4% left after 10 more minutes of talking.
- BATTERY DEAD after 6.6 days. So this is how the Kaiser behaves as PHONE ONLY. Activities Total: ~155 minutes phone (so 2 hours and 35 minutes), ~20 minutes screen usage (writing / reading). No WiFi, No BlueTooth.
WILL CONTINUE NEXT WEEK WITH A GPS ONLY REVIEW, let's see how this baby performs on a long GPS run.

weekend (from fri 6pm to sun 9pm) - bluetooth on, one hour talking, email checked every 30 min -after 2 days i had 30%
regular day f(from 7am to 6 pm) - - 1 hour, playing games (1 hour), phone 1 hour , email every 30min - batery status 50%

FAST FORWARD REVIEW
CHARGE CYCLE 1 - FACTORY DEFAULT
2008-03-26 - So far I am very happy with the way the battery behaved, especially considering that I use it the first time, no charges yet.
2008-03-27 - 2.5 days is ok for a first-time use of the battery. I'm very pissed off that I can't have accurate battery readings from any program!
CHARGE CYCLE 2 - FIRST FULL CHARGE
2008-03-28 - Pretty disappointed because of fast consumption with relatively nothing done with the phone. It's still the first cycle so I have hope for better at the next cycle. Also, probably the readings from BatteryStatus aren't correct and the power is a bit higher than it says.
2008-03-30 - 28% after some long GPS usage and a bit of talking is reasonably well. I'm waiting for the second full charge to draw more conclusions. Also waiting to see the battery reading after I pull it out at 0% and put it back again.
2008-04-01 - This is not an April's Fool joke. I'm very happy with the Mugen 3000 so far. 4.5 days and it's still holding strong even after GPS and talking.
2008-04-03 - Battery dead after 6.5 days - a very good result considering that I used the GPS (30 minutes) and talked in a normal way (102 minutes), without restraining myself.
CHARGE CYCLE 3 - SECOND FULL CHARGE
2008-04-05 - 31% of gone in 30 hours at the second full charge. Not so great really, considering I haven't spoken so much.
2008-04-07 - Almost 3.5 days and I'm at 30%. Acceptable by any standards, especially considering that the battery is actually at more than 30% if I remove it and put it back again.
2008-04-10 - I expected more bang from the battery since I didn't use the GPS, but I talked quite a bit. The Windows Registry tweak is bull**** apparently, the device still autoshutdowns when reaching 0%. Even if the battery is really at 50%. Very very annoying!!!
2008-04-11 - I used the Kaiser in PHONE ONLY mode for this period. It lasted about 6 days and 16 hours

CONCLUSIONS
THE GOOD:
- About 70% to 90% more juice than the standard battery. This baby really has a lot of energy to give and it will last you A LOT.
- Stated capacity (3000 mAh) is pretty much what you get. So Mugen didn't lie about this (too much). Considering that the standard battery is rated at 1350 and this one does not really last twice as much, it's probably less than 3000, but it's still a great performer.
THE BAD:
- Big size, heavy.
- Delivered back cover is a poor match to the phone.
THE TERRIBLE:
- There is NO WAY to read the battery accurately. Let me repeat that. THERE IS NO WAY TO READ THE BATTERY ACCURATELY. This SUCKS!!! The registry tweak I tried does NOT work and Windows simply shuts down when the battery reaches 0%, even though the battery is NOT dead. You need to REMOVE and put the battery back 2 to 4 times in order to really kill it. First time Windows reaches 0%, the battery is actually at 44%. You must TAKE the back cover OUT, then REMOVE the battery, then PUT IT BACK AGAIN and ONLY THEN you get the accurate reading. This is a very big downside of this battery and I suggest you think very well at this before you buy it.
ALL IN ALL:
- I'm happy ::- ). That's because I'm a battery freak and I like to have a very long lasting battery in any phone I own. So far, this is the best battery I had in my entire life in a phone. A battery that lasts almost 7 days after you talk for 2 hours and a half is GREAT. But I don't think I'll use it always. It's very very disturbing having to remove it every few days a couple of times. I think I'm going to keep it for long journeys and use it from time to time so that it doesn't degrade. I will probably use this one for a month than switch to the standard one for another month and so on.

Your way of testing the battery is not accurate because its not a consistant drain from 1 minute to the next. You should start with your OEM battery and use that as the benchmark. To do the test, first fully charge the OEM battery. Turn off the phone radio so you dont get incoming calls or SMS, turn on wifi, run a gps program to activate the GPS, turn on BT, play a video clip and set it on repeat, set the screen brightness to the max. The video clip playing on repeat will prevent the screen from turning off. Doing all this will create a constant and consistant drain on the battery. Now with everything is going, unplug the charger and start the timer. check on the battery level every 10 minutes and record the battery life until the phone shuts off. Once that's done, start the test with 3000mah battery. Doing the test this way will let you know at which point the battery meter becomes inaccurate for the 3000mah. When the test is done you can also calculate the exact battery capacity of the 3000mah. I've done a test like this for my 2800mah battery and it yield 2950mah when it was a week old then 2850mah when it's about 3 months old.

Is My Battery Damaged??

I've got an issue and I'd like to know if anyone else is getting this. I've read the forum threads but I don't know what's considered "normal".
Well, simply put my battery power is pretty poor. With no GPS or push internet, my backlight on Auto, and “moderate” usage (8 hours standby, 90 mins on the phone and 3 hours “other” ranging from Internet to games to taking notes), my battery is almost wiped out! I can't get through the day!
This is a far cry from the specs on the HTC website (which claims up to 340 minutes’ talk time), and from reviews I’ve seen saying their phone lasted a few days without charging. Is this normal or do I need to get a battery replacement? My previous phone - an HTC Trinity - seems to have much longer-lasting power (beyond the simple difference in mAh).
I know, some people might consider the usage above to be "heavy" but as phones evolve to take on more and more functions, of course you're going to end up using those functions. I do have TF3D on (I know that appears to guzzle more power).
I am considering the 2200mAh battery but would prefer not to get it because of the thicker profile.
Comments or advice appreciated!

Sounds pretty 'normal' to me.
Make sure you keep your phone on charge whenever possible as this will maximise the useable capacity when not being charged.

but as phones evolve to take on more and more functions, of course you're going to end up using those functions.

This is where the battery goes, Internet and Games!
When you leave your phone overnight with nothing running, no push internet etc, the battery should only go down, say, 3-4% at a guess, which would indicate the battery's OK. If extrapolated, this indicates a few days standby only usage.

That's fair enough Pete. I'll test that out.
HTC website says the phone should last up to 360 hours on standby. Therefore 8 hours should use up 2.2% of the battery, say 3-3.5% to account for inaccuracy in the battery readings.
Unfortunately my battery only reads in increments of 10%, how do I display the remaining power to the nearest 1%?

There's loads of free alternative battery metering schemes, my own fave is "Batti", which puts a coloured bar full width across the top of the screen which shrinks as the charge goes down. If you touch the bar with stylus, you get a page with charge shown 0-100% in 1% increments. Batti's very configurable too.

Unfortunately the duration life of your battery is normal for the stock one.
I have these performance for the battery:
- half day for an intensive use
- one day for a normal use
- one day and half for a low use.

I am at 56% battery.
What concerns me is that my display usage is at 56% of my battery usage with just 22m 27s of usage.
now if I do the math that means the display has used 25.76% of a full charge in just over 20 mins of use.
This seems absurd especially for what is supposedly a more efficient display. Do these numbers seem on par or do I have a faulty battery/device?

Has it been conditioned? I know conditioning does nothing to the battery itself, but it does cause the percentages to reflect more accurately.
Also, was it fully charged 5 hours ago when you took it off the charger? If not these numbers are meaningless.
I suggest comparing multiple charge cycles, not one strange instance.

No, I have not conditioned, the phone.
Yes it is coming off of a full charge.
This is the first day I have taken it off the charger for the full day. I have had it connected to computers via USB to install music apps and get it rooted since I got it so I do not have any other cycles to compare it to accurately.

To be honest these batts do not need conditioning, they have no memory effect.
OP Display is nearly always the most. Unless you make long calls (which could make calls the highest) or never use the phone (stand by would be the highest)...
I would be far more concerned if an app or other device function was at the top of the list other than display.

I had initial concerns about the battery when I got this phone. Now that I have settled into a normal usage pattern (few videos, email, web surfing, Facebook, etc.) I get a full day (7am-10pm) out of a charge.
Just use it as you normally would and don't worry too much about the numbers. See how long it lasts and then adjust as needed. You can disable something that you don't need at that particular moment and make a big difference (like turning off Auto-Sync when you don't need to be constantly updated of your friends Facebook status or turning off 3G when you aren't going to be surfing).

The fact that the display was on top is not what is concerning me it is the percentage of the full charge it used that has me worried.
In the total time off the charger at the time of these stats I used 46% of the battery. 56% of the 46% was for the display. That means that in 22 mins my display ate 25% of my full battery, which would equal out to my phone being dead with 1h 20m of screen time assuming no other resource used the battery.

How long does your battery power last between charges? My seems to runs out fast.

My battery last 2 days maximum, with normal usage (texting, wifi for bout 10 mins music for an hour) it will last on average a day.

Battery life is poor, need to charge at elast once a day; on top of this, charging seems to be awfull slow if the display is on.

Depends on how much I use Wifi, the wifi on the F1 is the real guzzler, having said that, compared to my Touch HD and Omnia II it gets 2 bars signal where those two only get one, as well as the F1 having around 40% better bandwidth.
Usually have to charge it up every day, it is a struggle to get through a second day without consciously minimizing use.
It's very fast, the other two aren't, I consider battery life to be the trade off for that, have owned a lot worse though, eg XDA Flame

Least it's not as bad as my tg01! 1ghz 1000mah and a bigger screen. The battery gets eaten with 3.5hrs heavy use only

Battery life is very short with this phone. 2-3 days max with no wifi, no GPS, only phone-sms...

Battery life

I have a feeling that my battery life is way less than it should be. I have a Zerolemon 10,000 mAh battery. Most days I don't use my phone much during the day, except for playing a game for maybe a total of 1h 30m throughout the day. Latest one I've been playing is Fallout Shelter.
So in a full day, 5:40am to 7:00pm, I'm down to literally 20%. It feels like I have a stock battery.
Anyone else experience the same issue? I'm afraid my battery may be defective.

You should check the overall SOT. You should get around 10 hours of SOT with that battery. Of course, if the game is very demanding, the battery will drain much faster., as both the CPU and GPU will use more power.
Normally it should go down 1 % every 10 minutes of SOT (normal usage like browsing) and about 1% every 3 hours of idle.

Yesterday I got about 25 % life, today so far I'm at 55 %. I have not played the game since day before yesterday. You must be right about the demand of the game. The note 3 seems to have a very demanding chipset. Even my 10,000 mAh battery cannot keep up with its demand.

My stock battery gives me arround 4.30h Sot on wifi almost min brightness. Is it normal or defective ?

I'm starting to think this is normal usage on our phones. Today I managed to figure out part of my crazy battery usage. It has to do with a kernel wakelock. Bluesleep is the culprit, causing the phone to never go into deep sleep. I followed the guide in the description of this video and it has allowed my phone to enter deep sleep. I've also been using Juicedefender to manage WiFi, Mobile Data and Bluetooth. With all of this in mind I managed to keep my battery usage in check since a few days ago.
In the picture below you can see the list on the left, and how long each condition has lasted.

It's normal.

What is this eating my battery. Every time its available , i monitor cpu usage and i find it at 100% .happens every few days. A reboot fixes it temporarily
