Hello
I have had my Hero for a couple of weeks now, however, this issue is something of a dealbreaker for me... Anyone know any workarounds?
Here is the link to it http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2226
Steps to reproduce:
1. Dial command string/MMI code such as: #190*1660#*. This is very
common and this specific case is to disconnect from a "virtual" switch on
Swedish operator Tele2. I'd assume similar codes are used by most operators.
2. Android says "MMI code started", this soon disappears and gives a
dialog box "Connection problem or invalid MMI code".
Personally I need this since I have one SIM card tied to two different bills, one personal and one for work. When I need to make private calls I dail *140# followed by the phone number.
A comment on the above thread says its passed to an engineer in march

I have a UK phone which can't call in NL.
same problem with motorola defy running galnet miui ics build
i cannot even call a number nor can use ussd code and phones goes in not reachable mode
add * before ussd
exsample
*100*2# replace **100*2#
Adding an extra star makes no difference. Tried it.
ok dont know if it will work for you but it worked for me
add comma (,) in the end of the code
example:
*100*2# into *100*2#,
works for me
Hi there am not to tech say but I know a little. Any how I keep getting a Invalid MMI Error code and connection problem code. What does this mean and how do I fix this. I can't call my voice mail by holding down the speed dial number 1. All my contacts have a 1 then area in front of it. I also am having trouble using my WiFi hotspot it says mobile number not found. I originally bought my phone from Verizon and decided
to switch to t-mobile so I had my phone unlocked. Could this be the problem. T.I.A.
I've searched this several ways, I have tried the couple fixed I have found to no result.
I have an On5 on Simple Mobile. I am trying to unlock it for use with T-Mobile. The expected prompt to enter a code never pops up, only a notification sent from the Phone app stating Invalid SIM Card: Network locked SIM card inserted.
The fixes I have found involved utilizing dialer codes - *#*#4636#*#* and selecting GSM Auto (PRL) was one, but this code did not trigger a menu, only a message Not registered on network. I guess the device was attempting to call the code. The default service menu code is not working either.
I read only one line that seemed to hint at any solution: unlock has to be done through the app. What app? Simple Mobile doesnt have a device unlock app like T-Mobile does, do they?
Any help or information anyone has is very appreciated.
I've got the Au Carrier version, Model Number "SCV33".
The problem was that the phone came with locked network, but i unlocked it through About>Status>Sim Lock Status by registering my SIM.
The 2nd problem which i cant solve is whenever i try to call someone it keeps giving the options "Set Dialing Destination: To Japan or To Oversees"
Pressing to Japan causes it add the Japan code, and when i press oversees it tells me to enter the code for the country and to do that i have to put the code in front of every number manually or edit each number with the code, that also sometimes doesn't work cause Google sometimes wont remove the original number without the code and will keep calling that one. And there is no "more settings" in call settings, thus no assisted dialing option. I really don't want to root or flash anything.
Also the issue isn't about calling people i can deal with that, problem is i cant put codes e.g *124# *3# etc which are for getting balance info and packages.
Cheers if anyone can help me.
Since the latest update to MiUi 11 Android 10 the call forwarding features on my phone are not working. I've tried menu access and I've also tried dialing in the codes manually.
I get the message "unexpected response from network" using the phone menu or " connection problem or invalid MMI code (0)" dialing the codes.
Does anyone else have this problem, know how to fix it ?
Works on my phone. Contact your operator.
