Get Android P beta from Google (Legit) - Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Guides, News, & Discussion

Now that redmi note 4 users have project treble they can install the Android P beta that was released today.
Enroll yourself in this website and u will be good to go
Make sure u already treblized your Mido before flashing this.

No rligible devices. Sad to say

No eligible devices. Any workaround?

Ofcourse not eligible, it's only available for:
Google Pixel & Pixel XL
Sony Xperia XZ2
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S
Nokia 7 Plus
Oppo R15 Pro
Vivo X21
OnePlus 6
Essential PH-1

Lol. Ofc it isn't for mido as described in the pic attached. Other oreo devices should be getting P from their respective oem.

It should boot if you have treblized your note 4 tho I cannot guarantee. Because of treble the blobs and drivers aren't in the /system partition anymore this making the GSI a universal flashable image my theory

I suppose that is true. If anyone does try it, please mention it here and if there are any bugs

I have tried to flash Pixel , Pixel 2 , System images After treblizjng my mido
Recovery Said that No OS Installed
Probably Because I think Google Backed devices use A/B type Seamless Update mechanism The same is used in tissot_sprout (Mi A1)
One of the way to get officially is to make mass tweets or RT my tweet https://twitter.com/TheIshanDubey/status/994107163021721600?s=19
If There Is someone who can Modify the System image As per A type System

Yes , well i tried it too today. First flashed the unofficial oreo 8.1 with treble and then flashed the system.img of mi mix 2s using fastboot.
Tried to boot but stuck on mi logo
Then again i cleared cache data dalvik and then flashed franco kernel for mido with treble, but this time it went 1 step further.. first 1 minute it was on mi logo then nothing blank screen and nothing... It just stuck on that...
I have grabbed the kernel log incase anyone wants to help or port the rom. One more strange thing i noticed in twrp was that when i tried to backup the system i saw 2 system partitions 1st one was normal system.img and second one was named system_image or something similar (i forgot the exact name and size) of 3 Gb.

PSA: The project treble generic build of lineage OS works great on the Honor 7x.

The only things broken are live display and auto brightness. Here's the link: THREAD
Pretty impresive for a generic image. Our Android phones are becoming like PCs.
Edit: Nothing is broken in v4.

No need for TWRP I believe, fastboot will suffice. Also the phone has the A-only partition type, not A-B.

Unlock the bootloader, factory reset from recovery, flash system image from fastboot, factory reset from recovery, then reboot. Also make sure that you have upgraded to EMUI 8 / Android 8. I only tested the stock GSI.
So I've been testing this for awhile. I can't find anything broken. Plus the live display and auto brightness features are fixed in v4. I don't have Bluetooth headphones to test that but I did test a Bluetooth controller and it works fine. It's worth noting that the openkirin team are working on this rom (or at least their patches get merged in) so it probably has newer patches and fixes that aren't in the ROMs on this forum.

Anyone managed to get a Treble rom booting on the OP5 yet?

I've tried both an unofficial AICP Treble build and the official RR Treble build on the OnePlus 5 after installing OB13 (Which the Treble app said had the vendor partition working), neither will boot. Both show a black screen with frozen cyan notification light. Flashed both using the latest blu_spark TWRP (twrp-3.2.2-x_blu_spark_v8.81_treble-op5_op5t.img).
Tried both while mounting the vendor partition in TWRP and with it unmounted, neither works.
After I had OB13 installed, I performed fastboot -w and then wiped all but vendor using the above TWRP. Still wouldn't work.
Anyone know why?
Just got it to boot after talking to phhusson. Turns out the problem is that ro.build.fingerprint was too long (it takes a maximum of 91 characters.) When I changed it to a shorter, also valid build fingerprint (eg. the one from phhusson's AOSP GSI) then it boots correctly.
Found this in gsi thread maybe that fix your booting problem :good:

Isn't the ro.build.fongerprint just in the build properties? So you can easily change it, I can't try ATM cause I need a stable phone for 2 weeks. Maybe try flashing phhs GSI of AOSP instead?

Hey guys I'm looking into flashing all this, but can you guys tell me what doesn't work? What are the differences with custom roms?
From what I understand, it's similar to a custom ROM in terms of camera (not fully working), in terms of volte (doesn't work).
I'm willing to test but since it takes a lot of time on my side (need to fully backup etc...), I hope it works fine
Also, the gsi is the lastest version now that official P is out?

[GUIDE] How to boot RR 7.0 GSI on Mi Max 3

Hello everyone, I followed the RR GSI group about it and many couldn't boot RR 7.0. This guide was created especially for those who could not boot RR 7.0. Go!
This guide is also suitable for flashing a GSI that does not boot. (Like AEX, PixelDust ...)
You should have an UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER and TWRP Recovery (I Recommend TWRP by Nijel8 - https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-3/development/recovery-twrp-3-2-3-1-nitrogen-t3866084)
Instructions how to boot RR 7.0:
1)Full wipe (system,data,vendor, dalvik,cache,internal storage) + format data.
2)Flash No-verity-opt patch + EU developer on 8.1 oreo or EU Stable 10.2.1.0.
3)Factory reset
4)Reboot to recovery
5)Flash POST-sGSI_3_v0.6 .zip
6)Flash RR System.img
7)Flash Magisk 18.0
8)Reboot to system
9)Setup system
10)Reboot to recovery
11)Flash BiTGApps or OpenGapps (Recommended) + Magisk 18.0
12)Reboot to system
Enjoy
Download BiTGapps: https://official-bitgapps-com.webnode.com/the-band/
Download RR 7.0 GSI (arm64-aonly): https://get.resurrectionremix.com/?dir=gsi

You used which miui as base ? Restored apps ?
It didn't happen here using vanced or official app or chrome. Maybe wipe dalvik and cache or reinstall app.
BTW for bt fix replace files in vendor. Nikita forget to share the file here. It's the same as the others. Search on guide forum for it can't send it through xDA lab
Regards

Thank you for your answer.
I did the installation in the same way as this thread.
And I installed using the file from this thread. (EU 8.8.30, etc.)
I used 'phh-trebble-pie-fixes.zip' to brightness fix (https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-3/how-to/guide-android-9-pie-aosp-phh-treble-rom-t3862708)
And I tried to change 'BiTGApps' to 'official openGapps Stock', 'official openGapps micro', and 'official openGapps nano'.
But the result was the same.
It works fine in chorme. but doesn't work on official youtube app and vanced app.

Custom ROM for the Pixel 4

I see a couple of custom ROMS for the Pixel 4 XL. However I can't seem to find any for the Pixel 4. Unlike the kernel, a Pixel 4Xl ROM cannot be used for a Pixel 4. Anyone knows of any custom ROMS out there for the Pixel 4?

Use GSI Roms. They aren't device-specific because they are using Project Treble.
Every phone with out of the oreo or higher have support for this.
I'm on phhussons Android 10 vanilla gsi currently.

Well i always do these steps when i'm update/install the mentioned gsi on my pixel 4 xl:
1. fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
2. fastboot erase system
3. fastboot flash system name-of-the-system-img
4. fastboot -w
5. fastboot reboot
I use the vbmeta file from this site:
Link: https://dl.google.com/developers/android/qt/images/gsi/vbmeta.img
Edit: I forgot something. The newer pixels (including pixel 4 serie) have a new fastboot mode (fastbootd). You need to go in this mode to execute step 1 - 4.
And i make step 5 in fastbootd mode, too.
Dirty Unicorns works great on the Pixel 4. I've been running it for a few days now. You'd have to build it yourself because it's not yet an officially supported device, but the device and vendor trees/repositories needed to build it for the Pixel 4 are on my public GitHub!

This is generally not encouraged by the teams creating and maintaining the ROMs because people start asking for support for devices not officially supported, so I'll have to ask for permission first. I'd probably be able to share it via the DU Telegram group. And I'd definitely not be able to guarantee any support whatsoever, so it'd be a "figure out on you own" situation.

I know @craigacgomez was able to get dirty unicorns rom on his earlier in the thread and he posted the device and vendor trees on his github to build it yourself, but I could not figure out how to get it working. AOSP and LineageOS GSI's cell service would not work for me, I'm on U.S. Cellular
