After the oreo update has HDR been implemented for example in Youtube?
Also those that have the Note 8 rom, does HDR work?
I changed "ro.product.model=SM-N935F" to "ro.product.model=SM-N950F" and youtube started in HDR in Nougat
How do I know if there is HDR in youtube or not ?

The youtube video should have HDR next to the quality of the videos, search HDR samsung or something,
Make sure you've updated the app, if it's not there, clear cache
Even though it is showing up on my phone after changing model number, Im not so sure it is actually HDR
I compared it next to a Note 8, the Note 8 seems to have darker blacks.
I changed Note 3's model number as well, HDR also showed up, so there is no proof that it is actually working on Note FE

What version are you on?
I want to know if it's available on the oreo update or note 8 rom?
If you are Nougat, change in build.prop "ro.product.model" to one that is compatible with HDR such as the Note 8,
I changed "ro.product.model=SM-N935F" to "ro.product.model=SM-N950F" then HDR appears in HDR specific videos

1hr ago i saw a post on XDA with the title ¨Google Brings YouTube HDR Support to Pixel Devices via Software Update¨
The question is , our displays are capable to playback HDR content ? If yes soon we will see YouTube HDR on 6P , not official , but still.:fingers-crossed:
There are already a few phones with YouTube HDR support like S8 , Note 8 , LG V30 and G6 , Xperia XZ Premium etc.
I highly doubt Google will bring support for it. Don't know if our displays are hardware capable for HDR but N6P is dead for Google now. Be happy if we even get Android 8.1 since the official support ends this month.

That´s why i said ¨not official¨ , because if N6P display is able to playback HDR content devs will port YouTube HDR from Pixel to N6P !
Edit : I just saw on my sister´s Galaxy S8 1440p60 HDR , is very laggy but the quality difference is HUGE !

The biggest problem i see with HDR on the 6p is codec support since i doubt there is hardware support we will need a software codec and who knows if the cpu can handle it.
With this modified youtube app you can turn on the VP9 codec under iYTBP settings. It's also adfree, background playback, and themed.

I tested the Exynos and works fine
Sorry, i am very noob here. Does this ACTUALLY IMPROVE overall photo quality? Does it have bugs? Would my photos magically disappear if i use a custom app?

Tried it. Still very unstable. Thanks though. I hope they improve this
There's a snapdragon version link in the first post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9-plus/themes/gcam-port-galaxy-s9-s9-t3763849
I've tried it on my Note 9 snapdragon version and it works for the front and back camera, but portrait mode doesn't work on either front or back (freezes up). It does seem quicker than the Gcam mod I had on my S8+, but that could be the snapdragon processor and 8gb or RAM I have...
It's also unstable as I tried to adjust one setting (re-enabling camera shutter sound) and it totally crashed the app and I had to uninstall and re-install, so best not to play with any settings on this version

I installed this on my NOTE 9 and everything works. I can even get AR Stickers to work - and take photos of them - but I can't take videos with AR Stickers - the video becomes massively grainy and you can't see anything - did you try and have any luck with that?

I got the AR Stickers working and they worked for videos, after I recorded the video, I selected the video (bottom right corner) to view, at first it pops up very grainy and closes, then I open it again and it plays fine.
Are Gcam Ports always that slow to take the pic/process?? First Samsung since Note 4 so all new to me.... have had pixel and 2xl the last 2 years so i see how fast they do it just wondering if it gets better or not

Portrait mode does work - with a very slight lag but not the huge lag it used to have on my S9 Plus. As for which version - I flashed the one that was for the S9+ - (i don't recall the exact lable or even the link - I got there thru the link earlier in this thread from the person who first stated they had installed and got it working on the Note 9. it is important to download the setup screen shots and be sure to get settings setup exactly like those screen shots show.
Good Luck

A developer IDan is working on a Google Camera port for exynos version for the S9 and Note9. Currently using his latest V0.4 and HDR+ on back camera works good, everyone should try it and you guys should know hes just starting, so in time everything should be working.
Also any donations to him are welcomed.
Details are richer and colors are more natural compared to stock photos.
Also _______
Can the topic name be changed to Google Camera Port for Exynos model.

If you could find the settings screenshot that would be great. I couldn't find them and the gcam on my Note 9 is unstable and some do portrait...
Guys, im not sure if you realize, Gcam wouldnt take advantage of the second camera for low light capability. I've tested via HDR and the noise was just too much. Comparing to Samsung which could produce a good low light picture without much noises generated.
Hi there all,
I received my 6T 8/256 last week. I'm still in official ver 0.7. I've checked that all my videos recorded in 4k 60fps are laggy. They skip frames and do not reproduce accordingly. I thought it may be a buffer problem in the phone itself, and moved them to the computer. They are laggy per se, they're recorded with this failures. Let's say they lag every 2 o 3 seconds (only video, not audio), giving the impression of a low quality, under resources smartphone.
Can you double check this? Can anybody confirm this problem is fixed in next updates? Otherwise I will have to switch to 30fps, which is a real pity in the quality standard.
Thx guys.

Does not lag on mine, but I have McLaren edition
Me too
Lags on my OP6 too. Even the 4k30 results are choppy. It's been like this for months now, videos come out like crap all the time.
Video is running fine on my OP6T at 4K60. I also have the 8/256 variant. I am currently on OB17. Maybe update your phone to the latest OOS as I know they made a few camera updates between what you're running and the latest OOS (9.0.17). Or you could download a newer APK for the camera from another source. I believe the newer camera versions from the 7/7 Pro work on the 6T but have issues in some modes (Pro mode, I believe}.

Same here. I think this is because of crapy camera app that needs to be rebuilt because it has bad algorithms botch video and photo

I use the GCam Tool from the Play Store. I use it mainly to stop the multiple subfolders created when taking portrait photos but it can also be used to flip/mirror the front camera images if the camera app you use doesn't offer the option (some combinations of GCam and Custom ROMs need to have the flip option enabled to correct the images).

Hmm...I set the settings and it showed the 60fps icon in the corner so I assumed it was recording at that frame rate.
These are just what I have set with the config file for the beta. Seems to record and playback fine.
Is astrophotography working on RN7 on Gcam?
I downloaded latest version of Gcam and setup all in developers options and still I cant get astrophotography..
I read somewhere that this is not available on MiUI..
I've unlocked and installed a custom rom (Atom OS, Android 10 based), thinking that being on Android 9 based MiUi would be the problem for not having Astrophotography mod working on my RN 7 - unfortunately, even on the new rom, this is not working.
Astrophotography doesn't work either for me with RedMi Note 7, MIUI 10.3.6.0 and Google Camera v7.0.009 V13 by Bulkin043 aka InnocentParrot.
I tried to put the phone on the table, I set the night sight, the 3 second self-timer, the focus on infinity, as seen on some YouTube videos, but the 1 minute and 6 second shot does not happen.
What am I doing wrong? Or what should i do to enable it?
Astrophotography it's pretty new I think it's not available for our model yet.
Astrophotography works in default miui cam. I managed to click some decent pictures.

I don't think so, because the length of the shot in normal night sight mode is about 6 seconds while in astrophotography the shot is about 1 minute and 6 seconds long.
very nice, but I think it´s not working for me on the official global miui. It may be related to a firmware on the phone.

I have an S20 Ultra, and when I record video in 8K, with stabilization turned off in the settings. When i try to zoom while recording, the phone freezes and then reboots, and that is always, this is not an isolated case. Only when stabilization is off in settings, perhaps in low light, i think. Either immediately freezes at zoom, or after a while as in the video.
My device on Exynos and latest firmware with camera fix.

Already tried. This seems to be a problem with the S20 Ultra on Exynos. I asked on the forum of my region, many have such a problem. We have already written to "Samsung Members".
And in addition, we decided to write so they add to scene optimizer Bixbi, a scene for the photo of the moon, so that it would not be painted and dont go to yellow.

Sorry. I did switch the super steady off not the video stabilizer... Yes it does reboot, indeed!
I think everyone who has such a problem should be reported to "Samsung Members".
We need more posts about this problem, as it is not an obvious bug.
I wrote, they responded with a default message, try to reset the camera, reset phone and try in safe mode. It did not help, bring it to the service center...
About the scene photos of the moon, they wrote that they transferred to the desired department and most likely they will add it in a new update.
