Bootloops with latest Magisk beta??? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Hi, anyone experienced any bootloops since updating to latest Magisk beta 9n oreo 8.1? They're nit frequent, one or two a day. Gone back to stable and all good so far.

That's the problem with beta. You're a tester I think it's good to report this in magisk thread...

I had this. My phone would just get really hot and then reboot. There is another version of the latest Magisk by jenslody that seems to be working for me.

If you're eager to try out Lineage 15.1, one of the hard working devs here on the forum, Nfound, seems to have quietly released an unofficial lineage 15.1 rom. If you check out their profile on AndroidFileHost you can also find the Resurrection Remix Oreo rom.
But be warned these roms are far from stable for day to day use, still pretty bloody impressive though.

NFound is amazing, I had no issues installing linage OS 15.1 + Gapps testing the basic stuff as we speak

I think they are definitely stable enough for a daily driver. There are some features like VOLTE I am hoping will come soon, but overall it is working great.

And you did clean flashes? What was falling apart? I know I had to redo a clean flash since I was using an old GApps and it would cause really bad crashes every few days.
How did you guys get this to work? I flashed the B32 modem and bootloader and then this, but it gets stuck in the first boot animation for too long (waited about 30 mins).

Did multiple clean flashes, it could have been Gapps that was the issue though. Google was constantly crashing. So naturally I just gave up and went back to 7.1.2, I plan to try again in a couple of weeks but right now it's not worth the trouble as I do need the phone to actually be reliable.

Wich Rom are you using guys? need help

The best rom that you know guys? For now i'm using aicp 12.1 but i have some problem with the notification, so i wanna know the best rom with good battery life no led bug!
I had the last hraffninns RR build (5.8.4) (security patch from last August) .than is tested acip by unterwelt (Gruß am dich!) and RR 5.8.5 (unterwelt continued hraffninns build). Now I'm on Lineage 14.1 (Nosgoth is back).
Sometimes I moved back to miui (original).
RR 5.8.4 had the best SoT (about 7-8h) only miui is little better.
5.8.5 got less SoT but updated security patches.
Lineage 14.1 : always popping up notifications > app xy crashed (but it didn't actually, only that notification shows up about 5x per day).
Last week I downloaded Android one from 4pda, but didn't test it. I think I'll try the latest miui port.
If the SoT will be same like before, I would be happy.
Overall I liked haraffins RR 5.8.4 most.
I didnt check if LED worked on each build. I think so, I didn't have any problem so far, at least no major thing.
Beste Grüße or best regards.

Can you link it please? I just unlocked my bootloader, should I just flash the image via fastboot right? Any extra step I need to do (format data for example)?

Oneplus 5 android pie open beta animation lags

Hi, i have some problems with device.
Few hours after reboot i have FPS drops using device. Like i'm scrolling Facebook Wall and i see drops like 10fps for about 3-5 seconds.
Somebody else have this issue?
Edit;
Now I see it happens only for newest beta with safety update for 1.12.2018, previous (first) version of Pie rom hasn't this problem.
So basically you are on beta rom
You can't hope for full stability and performance if you're still facing performance issues then go for custom kernel only 2 stable kernels i know so far that is bluspark kernel and elementalx kernel in my opinion go for elemental x kernel

Small query

I have oneplus 5 running latest TWRP for cheeseburger, and latest pixel experience rom
With android 10
My question is can i install magisk manager and app , or is it possible it can cause issues with the rom , as anything above android 8.1 on oneplus 5 is causing really bad issues for me, but this rom fixed them so i dont wanna mess it up .

In the early stages of Android 10 there was some minor bugs with Magisk but they pretty much has been iron out. I haven't had any issues with Magisk for a while now but I can't say for certain for PE. What usually cause problems is the modules you are using, these is what normally cause lag, stutter, random reboot and etc.

Best Android 11 Daily Driver for PH-1

Hi folks, what's the most stable android 11 ROM out there for PH-1 that doesn't have any major bugs?
From what I have seen. I tried Statix OS, EvoX, and PA Ruby. Statix 4.2 has low call receiver volume, on PA Ruby latest Beta mobile data doesn't work, and on EVO X, I cannot get NFC payments to work on my ING banking app. Could anyone please recommend a ROM, that doesn't have any major issues?
LineageOS 18.1 is my daily driver, the only bugs left are that recording video has low volume and chrome crashes (but this can be fixed by flashing certain modem files, available on the ROM thread)
Everything is fast and works just fine, battery lasts a bit more than stock
I prefer the OEM one.

Hey, I'm on the latest Statix (Aug 21 build), the screen seems to have shifted to the right after flashing magisk, which is weird. Any idea how to fix this?

This was discussed in the Statix thread (I saw your post there with the same question)... The problem exists in the last two builds (July and August). There's no fix - not yet, anyway. The suggestion from the developer was not to use Magisk.
And another problem with Statix builds from June onward is the Essential Camera crash.
